It's so great to get to start seeing spring tillage and ground prep/planting, especially after all the bad stuff that has happened in the world lately.
Spring has spring has spring. This farm was planting corn just up the road from this field. It’s rained the last days. Looking forward to filming more plant 32 field action.
Just ask your self why wars like these are so common but the only reason people care is because hunter and joe biden get millions from Ukraine and had prosecutors fired that were investigating crimes
@@2511jeremy I know all that and agree 100%, but I wasn't wanting to bring all that on here. Just that it is nice to get a reprieve from all that with the planting and tillage.
Anhydrous ammonia is a pressurized liquid. It becomes a gas when introduced into the soil. It will then turn back to a liquid by the soil water and is held by soil OM and soil aggregates.
Hey Jason Brad from Minnesota here Just wanted to say hello how are you doing I hope things are going well for you appreciate the video and keep them coming buddy talk to you later bye
on our farm we apply anhydrous in the spring, using a 15 knife case bar on 3 point on our 8r. We have a tank on the planter that we run a bit of liquid fertilizer to top of some nutrients as we plant.
@@bigtractorpower nice, I’ll have to check it out. We actually used to have an 8345r, but it caught a power line with the sprayer and burned. Luckily nobody was hurt, and my grandpa used it as an excuse to buy an 8370r lol
We were done applying NH3 last week during Spring Break and my bosses used a John Deere 9220 to pull a Wako applicator that I believe was 41 foot long and it had 15 inch spacing on it. I believe they were applying around 105 to 110 lbs/ac, and they are applying that much to plant dryland corn. Edit: They also spread fertilizer on wheat that they were pasturing off for the cows, and a small patch a little under 10 acres and they used a John Deere 4430 with a Koyker front loader to pull a Willmar Super 500 that they rented from the Farmer's Coop in Conway Springs, KS. That's also where they got their NH3 tanks they used to apply NH3.
The Deere 9220 is a nice tractor. This farm started on 2/15 with NH3 this year. They were planting corn just up the road while I was filming the 2510H.
Are those some kind of stalk stompers on the front of the 620 ? I assume they are there to save the actual tracks ? Edit: should have watched the whole video first -_-
I like the concept of this tool bar, I really do, but man does the maintenance of it suck compared to a knife style NH3 bar. So many grease zerks, and the process to change the shoe next to the opener is a lengthy process and they don’t last long. Co-op I work for has 2, one 15 knife and one I believe is a 25 knife. Both for our custom anhydrous. They do a fantastic job once set right and are great for no-till, but they just are more complicated to maintain. We getting rid of the 25 knife to go to John Deere’s new knife style bar but keeping the smaller one for farmers who prefer it. It just gets to be a chore to replace the wear parts 3-4 times a season on both bars. Wouldn’t be an issue for farms applying less than 3-4K acres.
The big thing for the farm in this video is rocky ground. There was allot of stopping to replace shear boldts with a knife bar. The 2510H just glides across the field. The thick straw is the other nice thing for them with the single disk unit. Maintenance is definitely a trade off but at least it’s in the shop and not multiple times a day in the field with shear bolt replacements.
@@bigtractorpower very true. The straw especially for them I imagine this bar does better even than a knife with a disk blade in front. I’m in NE Iowa so quite different soil than Kentucky. Still surprising the amount of bolts we’ve sheared on this style bar. The newer Deere knife unit has much stronger shear bolts so we are excited to see how they perform.
They are stalk stompers. They help reduce stalk damage to the track treads. During the cab ride along in this video I talk with the father about them and show a close up of how they work.
It is a stalk stomper. I talk about it with the farmer in the cab ride along and show its function. It helps extend the track life from stalks wearing out treads.
Thank you, and the farmer for taking the time 😊
I always like interviewing farmers to get their impression of the machines they operate.

Jason, I really enjoy it when you interview the farmer himself. Gives us all a farmers perspective. Always enjoy your videos. GO BTP!!!
I like getting a chance to ride along and talk. The farmer can explain the machine much better than I can.

Thank you. That is a good way to explain it.
Thanks for explaining how the applicator works and the soil conditions.
I was excited to spend some time in the field with the 2510H. It is the first time I have been around a single disk opener application bar.
Great video. Always fun seeing big tractors with big equipment.
The direct live commentary is very good. Thanks for this videos !
I like to narrate live when I show field conditions. It’s hard to line up narration on the micro phone perfectly with the focus on the field surface.
Very nice video. I said, for me, liquid ammonia is perfect, easy work more efficient. I'm fanatic to you channel. 👍
Thank you for watching BTP. It is fun filming and sharing these machines.

Great Video. I love John Deere and AGCO and now Case IH because all are good tractors but I prefer Deere.
I like them all too. Each brand has some stand out machines.
@@bigtractorpower New Holland is also my favorite brand. You got a good point. My 2 cousins love both Case IH and John Deere.
I am very happy to see the American flag flying on the farm equipment. That is the heat of American.

Nice one Jason
I seen one of them tractors going through our town it turned heads lol
The Quadtrac is a solid tractor and a cool machine.
Great video! Makes me excited to run our new to us 15 row 2510h (3pt) for side dressing. We are going to be pulling it with a challenger 755c.
Wow nice application team. I have a 15 row 2510H 3pt on a 8345R I posted side dressing corn here on the channel in May 2015.
I do believe I’ve watched it! One of the few videos on TH-cam about these machines.
tractor is a monster. i just wish they still had straight pipe exhaust
That would be a sound for sure.
Cool vid!
Thank you for watching.
Saw a new 2510H at local Deere dealer yesterday.Been sold
Very cool. I was impressed by this one.
Amazing
Thank you for watching.

😁👍👍. The stalk stompers really improve tread life. It’s amazing bough tough corn and soybeans are on tires and tracks.

We apply 32% with 90ft unverferth 2600 nutrimax applicators with y-drops pulled by 8rt tractors
Very nice. I filmed a 2600 on an 8R 370 last. I like 8RT tractors allot.
What's the implement in front of the tracks?
That was covered in the video.

Why do they need to use stalk stompers in that field?
Soybean stalks are sharp and they were the treads. This farm uses the stalk stompers year round on corn and soybeans.

Jake likes to see how fast he can make the switch each time. He does not like to lose one second in the change over.
more acres available than hours.
50 shear bolts per day with their previous applicator??? Wow, that must have gotten time consuming and expensive really quick!
It gets very time consuming. I just filmed a Blu Jet in a rocky field and 1.5 hour job was almost 4 hours.
