- Hey again everyone, In this video I try out some options for cold weather camping in the roof top tent with temps in the low 30's. I also make a "Chicken Shepard's Pie" (kinda). This is a long one, so grab some snacks and your favorite beverage and settle in for what was a very fun camp for me.

I am fascinated with your rig set-up. You have so many gadgets and modifications that I watch with much anticipation. I am so glad it works for you on your adventures. I don’t know if it is a positive or negative, but my camping style was molded by the scout master who I had as a kid. He was a former Green Beret who’s philosophy was “ only set up a solo camp that you can leave with the use of one arm” . The reasoning in his thinking was if you are severely injured and need to leave your camping site to seek help you should be able to do so with the use of one arm. Pretty extreme, but it stuck with me to this day. That’s why I camp with a travel trailer. If there was an emergency I can leave everything behind and seek help in my truck.
Love the videoed and cooking ideas. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the comment! I definitely agree with your sentiment, I have been camping for years and it has changed so many times over the years. My dad who was an Army veteran introduced t to it and I wish he was still here to see me do this. Thanks for watching and I hope you tune in for more videos!
Glad you bought the jet boil stove. Nothing beats the simmering feature. Man, you are quite the cook!
Thanks 👍I love it, the simmer is great for soo many things, thanks for the cooking compliment! See you in February!
Hi nice campsite beautiful scenery, your truck setup is awesome all the gages ,dinner looks good I love mash potato, beautiful sunset yes I add stuff to my coffee sometimes, thanks for sharing stay safe have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Thanks so much, thanks for watching again Sonia!
amazing setup very inspiring thanxx
Glad you liked it!, thanks for watching!
Great meals, Crystal calls bull on your corn isn’t at vegetable lol! 😂
😂😂😂
Love your rig and set up. Im a dyi for the most part and keep thing inexpensive. I love all the toy you introduce to us. Thanks for enduring the cold and for taking us along. Can you share the brand on the storage boxes? I have been considering the rigid setup myself but wonder about the other black ones you own.
Thank you very much for watching! The other boxes are from Frontrunner, while I do like them, I definitely find the rigid boxes to be a better value.
👍BZ on another entertaining video. The "pot pie-like" stew looked good also. What are you using for the corner legs on your diesel heater? They appear to be height adjustable.
I hibernate during cold weather, but do already have 7 camp reservations made for the upcoming 2024 season.
Thanks again! The legs are some threaded furniture feet that I used jam nuts to secure. I too have a lot of big plans for next year and hopefully some more interesting camp spot.😊
@@adventureroamx Good idea about the furniture legs, and going to look into that. Have a good Christmas!
Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I’m not gonna lie I passed on the roof tent set up. To much dam work. Plus this old Veteran doesn’t want to climb up and down.
It is a bit of work and it’s just another tool in my camping arsenal. When summer comes back around I will probably be using the tent and awning room more. Thanks for watching!
Do you charge your jackery with solar panels. Just bought the nomadic 4, and curious about having power while we are out. ☕️☕️
Yes I do on longer trips, but for 1 night it and the 500 Jackery will usually be more than enough. Thanks for watching, it means a lot !
@adventureroamx been watching for hours my man, my sons and I camp all the time, camp to fish mostly, can the jackery charge a 12v trolling motor ;) what state are you in, we do our camping in maine and New Hampshire mostly
I don’t think that the Jackie would be the best option for that. I think you should hook solar panels directly to your troy motor battery. But thank you for watching. I really appreciate it.
Also, we’re in Southern California
