    Shawn, Thank you for this video. Today, Sham Sharma Show had a guest named Kushal Mehra who said he is a Hindu but rejects all rituals. Most of the comments in the video was in agreement of Kushal. I wanted to write a long comment there rejecting Kushal's idea. But your video does that work much better. The timing could not be more right. I am not trying to pit you against Sham Sharma Show or anything. I liked Kushal Mehra and a lot of things he said. He is doing an awesome job. So is the Sham Sharma Show who is hosting amazing people and bringing in great perspectives. However, between Kushal and you on the topic of "rituals", I find your perspective more genuine and rational. That is all I am saying.

      The rejection of rituals is something I come across with many Hindus. Pujas and rituals are at the core of Hindu practice and have developed over the years because of the nature of our human mind. What I have encountered with others is the snobby attitude and looking down at others who choose to do pujas. One is not better than the other. Being Hindu is simply more than thumping your chest and proclaiming it from the roof tops. It has to come within - from a desire to understand your own divine nature.

    • @chbilly4465
      @chbilly4465 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Completely agree. I have studied the reason for the rituals done for materialistic gains and pleasures (i.e. rituals for artha and kaama among dharma, artha, kaama, and moksha) and I have found the reasons and methods to be very scientific and rational in keeping up with the philosophical framework of Dharma. It did not take too much time for me to find these things. Today's world is rife with incompetence and impatience. There are many people who join the bandwagon of popular opinion no matter how stupid the popular opinion is. No one wants to even acknowledge that there could be fallacies in the popular opinion and even if they acknowledge they are too lazy and impatient to find out the reality. You are a stand out among these people with very genuine Dharmic principles. Keep up the work bro. Dharmo rakshati rakshitah.

    Honestly a lot of Christianity makes a lot less sense than most of Sanatana Dharma once you understand the reasoning. Christianity creates and solves its own problem in (Original) Sin, and assumes that its not a Christian specific belief. None of the Dharmic traditions do that. Not Sanatana Dharma, not Buddhism or Jainism or Sikhism. None. In essence Dharmic religions are founded around the idea that life is or at least contains suffering and there's something we can do to address that problem. Suffering is a real aspect of all human experience, no belief required.

    • @HinduLifestyle
      @HinduLifestyle  6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      The doctrine of original sin is specifically an Abrahamic belief (Ie. Jewish, Christian, Muslim) You need to accept that premise whether it is rational or not.

      In Hinduism every soul is a divine manifestation for a purpose, good and bad is part of everything choose a good path(good for all) under the circumstance is Darma . Hinduism is relay propagates no idol worship by allow worshiping everything in the nature, this helps to overcome a particular image and start worshiping the Whole.
      all OTHERS ARE MORE SERIOUS IDOL WORSHIPERS , NOT SEEN A CHURCH WITHOUT CROSS. ALSO SEE

      And as long as you accept that & believe in that, NO ONE can claim that Hinduism allows them to be christian/muslim & Hindu at the same time.

      Well in christianity a person is considered a sinner by birth and has to repent to god (in catholics via jesus, holy trinity - Mother, Daughter and evil spirit... BTW there is a diff holy trinity in hinduism too which I call tin tigda kaam bigda ( Power of 3, spoil everything)) as a single premium insurance policy of heaven or be in hell for bad... In hinduism by default soul is considered divine and a living person ( Body + Soul) as per the karma may be lost in Maya (Illusions of worldly desires) and upon awakening of soul and renouncing Maya you can attain salvation... In christinity woman is considered evil n seducer which is not the case with hinduism...

    • @prashantpandya8336
      @prashantpandya8336 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even in hindu dharm too... Based on karma you r rewarded... Sin takes u to hell etc... All there in dharm...

      It’s a mosque that all Muslims face when praying, rich or poor, black or white. Mecca doesn’t have any magical powers. It’s holy because it’s historic and the place chosen for us to face. We pray facing the same direction no matter where you live (it signifies unity). Praying at least 5 times a day is to remember Allah. There’s nothing superstitious here

    Simply finding answers isn't enough. Those answers should be grounded in evidence, testing, and validation - the scientific method. Religion, including Hindu religion, is unscientific and irrational.
    As to your statement on being different, it glosses over the irrationality and blind faith that these practices are based on.

    There is no superstition in our system. Veda means 'to know' and faith is defined as 'a strong belief for which there is no evidence. To conclude, superstition is defined as 'contrary to evidence' (Merriam Websters). Knowledge is a good thing to have and faith is not!

    Many Hindus are timid to question others when they attack Hindu Dharma.For example we can question two major religions who proselytize.Why do you believe in virgin birth isn’t it unnatural.why someone is last messenger etc.There are many superstitions/beliefs could be questioned.

    Superstitious is common in Hinduism as the total knowledge we have gained has been progressive. The good news that Jesus came was for all humanity but India was already in the grips of a man made religion which would resist Christianity to death!
