Tie beam in sill level (.5 feet - 2*10 mm in top &bottom) in g+1 suggested by structural engineer in 4*12 mm (9*9 feet column) - advantages & disadvantages any? Pls clarify sir

Sir in case we construct load bearing structure, we provide potico with lintel level beam it may cause the brick or crack at joint of beam ?
in such cases we may use a concealed beam at roof level on all edges bro inspite of resting it directly over the wall..
