Keith Whitley introduced this song to me, many years ago. Alison Krauss ensured me that there would be nobody else that could top the way she performed it, and I've listened many different artists try it. Then this video popped up in my suggestions, and I was completely blown away. Maggie takes it to yet another level, and it was this song that pulled me into the F&F rabbit hole. Wow. Thank you Tim for bringing this beautiful music to the world....
John, I agree. I never thought that Keith's recording could be bettered. Alison's was different, with those subtle Union Station touches, and just as listenable. I give credit to the song and its writers for creating a masterpiece. To do this good a job live and outside is just such a pleasure to witness. F+F are in a class by themselves.

If I could time travel, I’d go back and be there to listen to this performance. Videos like this capture that one moment in time. They can’t be duplicated. Agreed. Sometimes wonderful events/performances pass by without much notice. Then we look back, as here, and find a new appreciation. It's a bit like a great painter - Van Gogh for example, who were not fully appreciated at the time but as we look back, we see that these are true gems of performance. Yes, I wish I'd been there. I have been a huge fan of Alison Krauss for 25 years. I believe this is Maggie singing, she has many of the same qualities in her voice, clarity, purity, and honesty in the way she presents the song. I NOAH MANN - discovered this band’s version of harvest moon, hooked ever since, even though I was an avid Trance lover. My music intake is on overdrive, especially in the last few years. If a tune, no matter it’s genre, it’s worth listening to. Hearing/watching this awesome family makes me want to see them live. We went around The Opry and the Opryland on the Sunday where I saw 16 year old kids with more talent in their little finger than I had, LoL! ...... 14 quarantine days watching and listening to fox and fossils was a discovered experience plug and amplified on my sound system was a moment of as if i'm infront of them.
Yes - the girls sing beautifully... But the lead guitar is a real, seasoned, professional. Not flashy - just solid, pro, talented, background effort. He finishes every riff with every string. Sometimes you have to listen carefully to his work - but there are hidden gems all over it.

This band is amazing but there is no need to crap on rap as a genre. Commercial music in general tends to be shallow and devoid of emotion/meaning. That's not exclusive to rap and in fact there is a lot of very heartfelt and genuine rap out there, even today. But props to this band because they are freakin' amazing.

@@debraseiler4148 There was room for about 20 people on the patio plus people listening inside. The mics they use are designed to not pickup much beyond a couple feet. You can tell on a couple videos where Tim left the camera audio in at the beginning or end of the video and you notice it's noisier. The band members have said they had a lot of fun at these gigs. We don't hear much of what happened between songs.

"Harvest Moon" was posted about six months ago. That was her most recent lead vocal. Many others since, she's on backup vocal. At this writing, their most recent recording is "Angel From Montgomery" for which Maggie was absent, but she now lives in Nashville while the rest are near Atlanta.

Yes - the girls sing beautifully... But the lead guitar is a real, seasoned, professional. Not flashy - just solid, pro, talented, background effort. He finishes every riff with every string. Sometimes you have to listen carefully to his work - but there are hidden gems all over it.

This band is amazing but there is no need to crap on rap as a genre. Commercial music in general tends to be shallow and devoid of emotion/meaning. That's not exclusive to rap and in fact there is a lot of very heartfelt and genuine rap out there, even today.
But props to this band because they are freakin' amazing.

@@lynwessel2471 I find it hard to believe that more people did not know….there is no crowd response. Can understand loyal family and friends but still seems incredibly quiet!
@@debraseiler4148 There was room for about 20 people on the patio plus people listening inside. The mics they use are designed to not pickup much beyond a couple feet. You can tell on a couple videos where Tim left the camera audio in at the beginning or end of the video and you notice it's noisier. The band members have said they had a lot of fun at these gigs. We don't hear much of what happened between songs.

"Harvest Moon" was posted about six months ago. That was her most recent lead vocal. Many others since, she's on backup vocal. At this writing, their most recent recording is "Angel From Montgomery" for which Maggie was absent, but she now lives in Nashville while the rest are near Atlanta.
I've heard Maggie singing a few songs she has an amazing voice, can sing any song.
Back again to hear that sublime voice and those marvellous harmonies and riffs....I could listen all day.
