Actually knowing what the German language says brings me to ease. (Context: my family have traveled a lot. Mainly due to army. During a time period (I believe 10+years) were were in Germany - this was because my Grandad being in the army, but also prior to that his parents raised him in Germany. But because of all the traveling. We ended up back in the UK and my grandad had to quit because he was no longer physically capable, my dad and uncle were born in Germany, but I was born over here. I’ve been saving up to go live in Germany when I’m older because it feels more right than growing up British when I’m only British because England took majority control over my country. But I have never got to celebrate German traditions or learn it’s true history. So I’ve started learning German and it’s history to feel more comfortable.)

Canonically they were the same, however the name was called a bit differently between eras (and flags) Tbf the whole Prussia lasted til 1947, however we wouldn’t call it Prussia anymore. Similarly, since 1701 it’s called Kingdom of Prussia even tho it’s still Prus. And the name as the kingdom lasted til 1918
