- While rearranging my plane storage I thought I would do a top 10 of my UMX and micro planes.
Yes, I have more than 10 and they are all included.
This is of course entirely subjective, there are many more that I do not own and are not included here. And yes, are are from@horizonhobby

I’m just as impressed that you kept all the boxes, I had to throw most of mine away 😅no room in the house!
Boxes are one of my favorite things about them, easy and safe storage. Yes, they do take up space but otherwise they would've had a lot more hangar rash 😄
They are all cool. I've just finished my own UMX P-40 and a Zero. 😊

Even if you do not particularly like biplanes, consider the Pitts it is just awesome. Due to the paint scheme, you can recognize the flying position even at a distance and you can fly it both, scale and super weird. It is rather aerobatic and for it’s 40cm wingspan surprisingly stable. It can stand winds that you wouldn’t believe. I once managed an almost fully vertical landing 😂. Only downside is the same motor like the Timber X - screamer! Oh, and btw. You mentioned the roll rate of the Waco… Compared to this, the Pitts is a ‘cordless screwdriver’. On high rates, it is reasonable to add some expo.
TT Evo is a dream in any respect of flying. Sadly, it has a reputation that servos fail and get stuck, I can confirm both. Two were jittering and one stuck, but you can fix them, when having the nerves and skills to fiddle with the tiny components and screws. For me, the TT Evo is probably the number one fun plane. Incredible flight envelope from super slow to pretty fast, aerobatic… I love it, I really do. The air tractor has a similar envelope, but a bit different characteristics, which isn’t surprising.
Another tip if you want to extend your fleet: P-51!!! If you didn’t like the Voodoo paint scheme, go for the Detroit Miss. The plane is a dream to fly, super quiet and almost ridiculously fast - similar to the Conscendo. It handles the ground as well as the sky. Unless you hate warbirds, give it a try - you won’t regret. You probably have also heard about the F-86 to be released any time soon with a 4S power system - that might replace your Mig and delivers the power that you were missing on the Mig. I personally found the noise annoying still from what I saw on maiden videos so far. Except for that, it does look great in the sky.
And finally, like somebody else commented - the Draco. First I didn’t like the looks of it (the big one), but the same was true for the Air tractor. Now I got used to it and in the air, almost any plane does look great anyway😂. Videos of the Micro Draco look very promising and I can’t wait for mine to finally arrive here in Germany. It is on backorder still.
Correct, one of the things that put me off about the Pitts is that motor, I will replace it on the Timber x. The TT Evo I bet is great, I will probably get one sooner or later, and I think I would prefer it over the Draco.
I saw the new F-86 and it's interesting but I think I will wait a bit until they have more in that line, otherwise I need to buy batteries especially for it and I hate that 😄 I was expecting 3s jets, but 4s only, that's something!
I agree, The choices you made are along the same lines of mine. I would have rated the twin otter higher than the Timber X is my only change. The otter is by far the best water plane.
Indeed, it's subjective. I love the Twin Otter on floats but only use them on snow, and that was rare this winter. With the X I had some of my best flights ever but also some of the worst, I need to fix it up a bit then I'll see how I feel about it, I haven't flown it for quite some time.

I love this video Everything about this. I am a bit surprised the p fifty one didn't make it on the list. I lost mine in a marsh yesterday and I was so sad that on the way home I ordered two more planes on paypal and they were your number one spot planes! The air tractor and the yellow waco. Your video made me feel so much better about my impulsive. Last minute to plane purchase LOLI actually haven't eat flight 1500 which is a huge pig that I have haven't even flown yet. But I've only had it a week. I'm on fire and in trouble thanks good good job

The P51 isn't on the list because I don't have it yet, but I'm sure it's great, I will probably get one in the future. Sorry you lost yours but seems like you got 2 great replacements. And don't feel bad, as long as you're not using money that should go to food or bills, why not get something that will make you happy?
Actually I kind of have buyers remorse after I order a new plane 😄 But hey, it's a much better addiction than alcohol or drugs 😁

Yeah, I was lucky I got most of them cheap because they were discontinued. And many times I still feel like I have nothing to fly 😄

More than ten? Are ten too many? 🤔Brick with wings. 🤣 UMX Ultrix has a reputation for motor bearing fails. My 600 is a hoot though. Yes! Rudders on the piglet are so nice. Citation is/was just as cool. UMX Timby X is my most bashed model, but it is death proof. Used to hate it, til I figured it out. Save room in the #1 slot for the Draco. Barnstormers don't need no stinkin' lights. My favorite would be the tiny twin otter. Think I'll take her out right now. Great collection and wonderful video production, Alex. 👍

I can see how the Twitter is your fave, I just love mine on floats but this winter has been lacking snow.
And yeah, I put in a bit of work on this video, definitely a lot more than a flight upload.

I have beaten the daylights out of my UMX Timby X. Even took a shotgun to it once! Definitely a love/hate thing.
BTW, you handled that A10 so well it made me feel like a total noob.
The time you spent editing is quite apparent and incredibly helpful to folks interested in any of those fine models.

@@RARenfield I promise I'll look for a puddle or something, still has the floats on cause they are so darn hard to put on the Twitter, at least on mine.
The A-10 flight here was one of the first, don't know how I never smacked myself in the head with it 😄, I guess I was to much of a boob back then, don't think I could replicate it now.
@@A.M.-RCI like that the little twitter doesn't use those brittle plastic brackets and tiny screws like all of it's predecessors. Held in simply by spring friction. Brilliant.
But I have two sets of wheels for it that will never see turf. So I can't really say how easy they are to swap.
@@RARenfield Yeah, the system is great, just the front one in my case is very hard to slide in, I almost broke the foam there

What lights are you using and where are you plugging them in?
Cheap led strips, 5v or 12v, usually plugged in the balance port of the battery, depends on the plane.

My radian is def one of my faves. The turbo timber evo is neck and neck. My pitts, well I don’t fly it very much. Too pretty. Next in line is Draco, but it’s back ordered. I think I will cancel it and get the air tractor and the crashindo
The Air Tractor is definitely nice, feels like a more agile Timber with that low wing. And if you love the Radian you would love the Conscendo, glides just as nice but it can be a lot more fun if you want to.
Out of my Squadron of 600+ R/C Aircraft, 1/3 are UMX . Twin Otter on Floats. Yes that many. Happily divorced for 45 years.

Would love to, but they are hard to find. I do hope they will be re-released, or at least some new jet and aerobatic model.
Issue with UMX planes are they are bought a lot and yet the sellers are always out of stock and worse they discontinue them way to fast . They have created multiple Cub style ones and you get one you really like and then it is discontinued and yet another one is made and then sold out....shortly there after.
And as the rules continue to screw the hobby, UMX size aircraft needs to be a priority, but instead they will have larger aircraft created and rarely ever sold out, but UMX here today and gone today it seems....LOL
You are right, they are often not in stock, at least right after release. And with discontinuing them I think they do it with good reason - low sales, bad performance, etc.
But the recent all new ones and even the updated older ones have been great. The cost has gone up almost to the point they are catching up to the big versions (Conscendo for example) but I hope they will release more UMX with even better performance.
I like your list. Great video. 👍👍My number one is the UMX TT Evo with the gear off. It flies so differently with the gear off. I added UMX TT Evo lights to my Waco’s and UMX Conscendo. Check out my videos on them.
