Mo is the most underrated brother in this amazing group. He also was a great bass player. He was instrumental in the music/notes of all their songs!!! He could play any instrument.
I remember it being 1975/6 when it came out before Saturday Night Fever in 1977. It is one better on disc than live but worth seeing anyway. The Midnight Special version is great but they don't scream live!
Had to experience this video again. The strong positive reaction to the song ; the song itself, with the uppercut punch of the bass and the heart-soaring back-up vocals ; and of course the now-iconic 360° head-roll ... Nights On Broadway is definitely "dope", and this reaction video is even dope-r .
GREAT REACTION you guys. I love seeing people your age discovering the music I grew up with. NOBODY can listen to this song and keep their head still, haha. This song is so kick-ass, and no matter what kind of day you had, when this song came on the radio it was a great day. I am glad you guys are as moved by this song as I am. There's so much more to discover. Keep on keeping on.
Motown still underrated. It wasn't underrated then. But the singing show contests on TV even when they use some old Motown just trivializes it and reminds me of enjoying the music, not some identity crisis actor singing for cash to buy video games.
The Bee Gees were so huge in the 70's that after awhile it became "cool" to bash the Bee Gees & disco in general. I remember the phrase "Disco Sucks" was common place. Now it's refreshing to hear these great songs again & them being introduced & appreciated by a new generation.
I wish that these channels didn't ignore the 1960s Bee Gees, as so many do. They were huge in those days with such beautiful songs before they started writing dance music.
I’m with you on that. “Bee Gee’s 1st” is a great Beatles inspired album, along with a few that followed. I don’t disparage their 70’s stuff though. The songwriting was always solid.
The Bee Gees, will always be associated with Disco, but they wrote some amazing songs that were covered by artists from different genres. They were amazing!
It’s a keyboard bass that is driving this song. There’s one video that shows the whole band and you can see the keyboard players fingers doing exactly what you’re hearing. I agree that it’s one of the funkiest bass lines ever and every time I hear it I feel it to the depths of my soul. I love how you guys dug it so much!
And talking head hunters. That's the group I gotta see. Walk softly, there's a video Kentucky headquarters, a song walk softly think out of it. Zydeline and avadio walk softly by kentucky hair hotters
But I got a song called the Butch BUT CH Butch the butcher's back. It's by Elton John. Hey, doesn't Butch it's really gotta Eye right there. But I don't know if I'm supposed to say that. I'll now go to mike mcdonald and jail?
Dude, slave, don't slave trashy trashy women, that's a song by. The Confederate railroad take out a video for dial you can get on the train, and now take it to the trashy woman Confederate Ralph ralph rather than you're gonna hooky up with Tracy weyman. I hear some video vit's a variable very I'll submise it
Yeah!!! I've always loved that record. As I heard it, that is the first appearance of the soon-to--be-famous Bee Gees Disco Falsetto. A great place to start. Trivia--the Bee Gees wrote To Love Somebody for Otis Redding, but he died before he could record it.
My favorites are my favorite. Love the disco but really LOVE their early and later stuff. No other way to say it , but they were amazing. Melody, writing, harmonies. Can I say it again? HARMONIES! No one better as a total band. They had the talent in spades! If you liked this, then you will have no your mind blown with FANNY (BE TENDER WITH MY LOVE).
Remembering my sister Trina. She went to buy this 45 and accidently got the wrong artist. I'll never forget her disappointment. I laughed. I'm crying now. Her memory IS a blessing.
OOH Yes!!! Soul Soothing, hard banging, deep groove, big bass music!!! Another example of why new music cannot compare. The Bee Gees wrote, sang, arranged and performed their music; VERY hard to find in any artist that is considered "successful" today. Most I don't even consider music artists; they are "performers". Your smiles and watching you both feeling the music made my afternoon!
The BeeGees were pure Geniuses , you couldn’t pay for their weight in Gold , they were Impossible to pay , these guys were out of this world , I hope you can hear “ Fanny Be Tender With My Love “. That’s a Master Piece .
Yes he is. Not on album though. Makes me sad because I like Mo getting his respect. A lot of I people think he was just the third wheel. Kinda riding the coast tails of his brothers. He was the catalyst to the Melodie’s, especially the base. I love his quirkiness also.
@@trudyjoejenkins9357 Maurice caused much anxiety often in the studio because of his worsening alcoholism during the 1970's. He was not consistently dependable to show up and contribute-- Robin and Barry covered for him as much as they could. The crew and band members all covered for Mo. He got it under control after those frenetic 70's, until Andy died in 1988. Mo's alcoholism went out of control again until 1991-92, when he finally went sober through an AA program and enjoyed the last decade of his life, as a happy, energetic, productive artist and family man. Mo had such gifts!!! He was taken too soon~ All of these events are well- chronicled and discussed openly by Maurice and his family. You Tube is one source (interviews) and various books and documentaries.
Welcome to the wonderful world of the Bee Gees. Bee Gees are the best. Everything you can imagine they've perfected. Funk, R & B, Pop, Country, this list goes on and on. Too Much Heaven. Fanny Be Tender. Stayin Alive. Tragedy. Love You Inside Out.
That was the rise of the world famous falsetto of all time - "...blame it on" - the beginning of legendary status of an voice of generation - Barrys vocals from another planet and the beginning of the triumphal procession of 44 weeks on #1 US billboard charts with twelve immortal tunes to come 🔥
I love how this song carries to its eventual conclusion. You get a satisfying experience that feels complete. Another song that feels that way is U2's One.
You will be blown away with Fanny (Be Tender With My Love). Mr. Quincy Jones was quoted as saying that it's his favorite R&B song and the best hes ever heard. Jive Talking is also a bass favorite.❤❤❤
You guts should pull up some of the old "Midnight Special" videos with the 70's artists on there. It still blows me away how good those bands were playing on live TV with the sound they had. Just shows how much work they put into their craft. Bee Gees, Journey, Ted Nugent, AC/DC, Areosmith.......so many
It's Maurice on bass, makin' a wonderful job. Songwriting and Composition masterful. No need to talk about their singin'. Barry discovered that he's been able to sing in falsetto, just with that track. Check'em out with 'Heavy Breathing' and 'Road To Alaska. Also brill songs.
The first time I heard this, I was driving into my apartment parking lot. I heard that opening beat and thought "damn!!! That's funky! Who is this!?" And I stayed in my car (parked) till it was over.
I saw The Bee Gee's live once because my mom didn't want to go alone. I'm so glad I went, for most of the show the brothers used 1 mic and made they're own blends. No one ran over each other, so good!
Brothers, I was (and will always be) a prog rock snob. But, when I wanted to get my grove on, the BeeGees (along with Hall and Oates, The Temps, and the Commodores) were my go to group. These brothers always brought the smoothest, most polished vocal harmonies, and sometimes, like with this tune, a slappin' beat as well.
Doesn't matter what genre you favor, well written music is well written music. You've got to recognize, Bee Gees had it in droves.
Spot on! Any genre any time when it's genius!
Amen. Some music is go great it transcends genre. I love great vocal harmony--enough said.
FACTS!!!! A great song translates no matter the genre.
You got it. Excellence is excellence!
My favorite Bee Gees song
Barry & Maurice are playing guitars in this song as well as singing! Amazing
Banger!
their Midnight Special performance is just outstanding. what an amazing band.
Mo playing that🎉
Mo is the most underrated brother in this amazing group. He also was a great bass player. He was instrumental in the music/notes of all their songs!!! He could play any instrument.
Oh yea❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We have that ‘Sleep On It’ coming In The next wave of videos
@@AirplayBeats love everything you do thank you……..keep jammin👑❤️👑❤️
Maurice was a great bass player, that funky beat he puts down makes the song.
Great reaction. Bee Gees get a bad rap. They were and are genius and amazing. Ahead of their time.
I remember it being 1975/6 when it came out before Saturday Night Fever in 1977. It is one better on disc than live but worth seeing anyway. The Midnight Special version is great but they don't scream live!
There’s a great documentary about them. I highly recommend it.
I’m a rocker thru and thru, but these guys were amazing! The harmonies are butta.
Agree with you 💯 brother! The drums are my favorite part of this one.
Same here brother! Dream theater, Metallica, and the Bee Gees!!!!! Great music is great music!
How can any human with a pulse not like the groove of this classic.
Had to experience this video again.
The strong positive reaction to the song ;
the song itself, with the uppercut punch of the bass and the heart-soaring back-up vocals ;
and of course the now-iconic 360° head-roll ...
Nights On Broadway is definitely "dope", and this reaction video is even dope-r .
I agree & wish they'd do more Bee Gees reactions! And I must say their videos have the best sound!
My favorite Bee Gees tune! As far as the sampling comment goes, DMX sampled the part of the piano line from the breakdown for his song 'The Convo'.
Maurice plays the bass!! Flawless!!
Quincy Jones said the BeeGees hit “ Fanny be Tender “ is one of the best R&B songs he’s ever heard- can’t wait for your reaction-
I loved it straight away when I first heard it as a teenager. I learned not to regard it as a guilty pleasure.
Nobody really says it but the 70's had a lot of funk in it's music. I grew up feeling it😊
Motown still underrated. It wasn't underrated then. But the singing show contests on TV even when they use some old Motown just trivializes it and reminds me of enjoying the music, not some identity crisis actor singing for cash to buy video games.
No auto tune and just pure heart
Maurice is the bass player, he has some great tracks.
They are brilliant! U.S. didn't give them enough credit!
The Bee Gees were so huge in the 70's that after awhile it became "cool" to bash the Bee Gees & disco in general. I remember the phrase "Disco Sucks" was common place.
Now it's refreshing to hear these great songs again & them being introduced & appreciated by a new generation.
So Funky !
This track is flawless!! The Bee Gees are the Gold Standard for songwriting, vocal production, arrangement, You name the criteria, they exceed them!
Masters of every aspect of what they did. So good.
I wish that these channels didn't ignore the 1960s Bee Gees, as so many do. They were huge in those days with such beautiful songs before they started writing dance music.
Totally agree
Recommend, recommend, recommend!!
I’m with you on that. “Bee Gee’s 1st” is a great Beatles inspired album, along with a few that followed. I don’t disparage their 70’s stuff though. The songwriting was always solid.
One of greatest musicians and writers of all time. Only one left now .
The Bee Gees, will always be associated with Disco, but they wrote some amazing songs that were covered by artists from different genres. They were amazing!
Maurice discovered the SYNTH BASS, and changed the sound with that fat bass!
love you inside out is a must. you wanna talk about grooves to be sampled!
1:00 that progression on the synth bass thing was wild
Mo is rocking that bass! Their range, harmony and song writing skills are second to none. Musical geniuses. The Brothers Brilliant never disappoint!
the song where Barry and his falsetto went front and center for the rest of the way
The 70's music is the greatest music on the planet.
you dudes made me love this song even more. one of the catchiest best songs ever imo
You 100% on that!... That bass sound is all you will ever need...
The drums are brutal!
Dennis Bryon. Killer. The lick @4:57 kills me.
Mairice Gibb is an excellent bass player.
Yup!
One of my favourite BGs songs. But I am a fan from their 60’s music
Great song..kind of a disco era song..

Bee Gees are one of the greats.

It’s a classic 👌🏻
Hells, yeah! There’s my fave Brothers Gibb song!!!
Bass by the one and only Maurice Gibb aka Mo. He is also the falsetto.
masterpiece
This is where the falsetto voice started. The rest is HISTORY
Rudy Vale not ringing a bell?
Love it when they slow it down and Barry comes in with I will wait...he sounds just to good so smooth and sexy.❤❤❤
Yes he is! What a man & musician!♥️
They've been at it for EVER...since younguns
Gorgeous
You kill me me shaking your head! It’s too good!!!
Prolific songwriters and IMO this was the epitome
Best harmonies and falsettos ever!!!
The Bee Gees were incredible. Such a wide spectrum. You gotta check out more. Especially from the '60's before they did disco stuff.
My favorites are my favorite. Love the disco but really LOVE their early and later stuff. No other way to say it , but they were amazing. Melody, writing, harmonies. Can I say it again? HARMONIES! The Bee Gees didn’t do disco, disco did the Bee Gees.
Brilliant track
Love it when LA goes BOBBLEhead!
Remembering my sister Trina. She went to buy this 45 and accidently got the wrong artist. I'll never forget her disappointment. I laughed.
I'm crying now.

You would enjoy the live version of this song on The Midnight Special. Many say their absolute best song was Fanny be Tender.❤❤
Pure Genius!!!
The production on this track is insane. You just can't beat the 70s when it comes to music production.
I saw the Midnight Special live version multiple times. I think Maurice is providing that background falsetto vocal in addition to the bass line.
Maurice could hit that high note with ease.
Maurice was the foundation of much of the music BeeGees put out. Legends all.
Yes he is. Not on album though. Makes me sad because I like Mo getting his respect. A lot of I people think he was just the third wheel. Kinda riding the coast tails of his brothers. He was the catalyst to the Melodie’s, especially the base. I love his quirkiness also.

yep the blueprint was laid forever more with this one
It was Maurice’s doing the falsettos, he never got the credit he deserved for his harmonies and musicianship !

The bass line, played by Mo, was doubled with the synthesizer. This is 1975! The whole album is spectacular!

Make a sister happy and review Bodyguard! I adore these brothers and their vibe!✌🏾🙋🏽♀️👑
I grew up in the 70s and was a rocker. Even had a "Disco Sucks" shirt. But, definately had to give props to the Bee Gees and KC.
Their live version of this on The Midnight Special is worth a reaction.
great reaction!!
Glad you enjoyed! Me too! Barry Gibb is in the McCartney/Lennon, Paul Simon, Bob Dillion & Stevie Wonder conversation
John Denver perhaps as well?
The first time I heard this, I was driving into my apartment parking lot. I heard that opening beat and thought "damn!!! That's funky! Who is this!?" And I stayed in my car (parked) till it was over.
The bridge was nice too
Great song ❤
the bee gees....GENIUSES very very veryyyyy underrated.....for me the best band
Me saying I have a favorite Bee Gees song is a bit comical but I think this is their best work.
You can't deny GREAT music. This right here to me sums up the Bee Gees
IMO....their best song they ever recorded.
Now y’all opened up a can of worms..whoa bee gees
If you guys only knew the reach these dudes had back in the day. Watch their life story/ documentary.
The low end is both a bass guitar and the Moog Model D synthesizer. They used both in the final mix.
Disco was a lot of fun! Dance floors would fill up when the Bee Gees were being played!
Keys and Maurice's bass. Probably my favorite song. Check 'the midnight special' version of this.
