      I'll keep my note 8 and wait for a phone with in display finger print scanner. Also making fun of a year old phone is just ridiculous. I went from a note 4 edge to the 8 and am very impressed with the progress Samsung has made. To be honest I was fine with the note 4 edge and would still be using it if I didn't break the phone. The note 9 is so incremental of a change that it makes me want to wait for a better upgrade for the money. Going from note 4 edge to 8 was night and day but watching reviewers play with the 9 doesn't make me go damn I need that or want that! Infact my phone does most the things the 9 does and my battery last all day anyways so I guess 3300mah is good enough for me 😁. Can't wait to see next years phones.

    it's not money wise to upgrade/buy when products first come out!!
    These days, I did upgrade from Note 8 to 9 for $100. That's the cost of 64 gig capacity, 1gig RAM, larger screen, longer-lasting batt, etc!!!

      People just accept a phone survives 2 years. Besides Note 9 is lacking in display finger print sensor and the selfie camera is just the same as past year. Stop trying to justify upgrading from 8 to 9.

    Let me tell you why it's worth it for the upgrade for me. I have a Note 8, but the internal memory was just about full. I had a 256GB micro SD card in it, and moved everything i could move over, including some apps. This KILLED the performance of the phone, and frustrated the hell out of me. Plus the battery was ok, but i feel like it dropped 15-20% an hour. which is no bueno to me. So i traded in my Note 7 (yes, that Note 7) and got the 512GB Note 9. I have been riding REAL hard today, music, video, talking and even used it as a Mobile Hotspot for 3+ hours as it powered my laptop. it's at 13 hours and 12 minutes and had 18% battery left. and i have a combined 700+ Gigs of free space (little over 400 internal). it's runs super fast, the fingerprint scanner is perfect. I have no complaints. I'm glad i got this device, the real question is.....is this the last phone i'll ever have to buy? with 8GB Ram and all that internal space, i don't forsee a practical reason to need another phone for a very very long time. and I guess that is the real value for me. cost me $200 out of pocket this year. Saved me a grand next year.

And also don't know if the note 8 has live focus on the camera but that shit is amazing when taking photos. I want an even bigger battery for the note 10 though. Despite the Note 9 have 600 mAh more than the Note 8, it only lasted 1 hour longer under testing conditions? The battery is the only reason I'm considering the 9 over the 8 at the moment. I'm upgrading from my Note 4 which is finally starting to show signs of degradation after 4 years of use.

  • @brianmsahin

    Phone Arena does not understand the Note user. In fact 99% of reviewers don't understand the millions of Note buyers. I upgraded from Note8 to Note9.. Why? Bigger battery, more storage, brighter screen, stereo speakers, dolby atmos which really upgrades headphone sound over Note8, a really useful sPen upgrade particularly for tech business users like me, faster processing speeds, a significantly better camera than Note8, better fingerprint placement. I could go on, but it's disappointing to see that reviewers never ask Note users why they buy it, as opposed to a standard mobile phone. They just don't know the people who make up the customer base. They're engineers, business professionals, industrial designers, graphics designers, anybody who needs a powerful multi tasking business oriented phone. Power matters. That's why these devices sell. I would say that a huge proportion of Note9 buyers are upgrading from Note8. Myself and my colleagues have upgraded eight Note8 devices to Note9. Reviewers need to cure themselves of their total ignorance of Note users. This guy can't even get the basics right. The Note8 had a 3300mah battery, not 3500mah. Phone Arena always make at least one error in every video they make. I guarantee it. Check it out. They need to stop using amateurs for a professional job.

      I'm a note user and he does understand the majority of note user.
      You upgraded because you thought you needed to and maybe felt like you did, also because you felt like you could justify the expense.
      One year didn't make much difference in these devices, and a lot of users don't really need to upgrade now.

    • @brianmsahin

      @@CR1992.. Having owned every Note and as a corporate user and if you read my whole comment in comparison to this review it is obvious he doesn't understand. I won't even bother repeating all the major improvements to this device over the Note8, no point in repeating the obvious benefits that I've been experiencing both from personal and business use since August 13th, the day I got mine. I can understand that financial constraints can stop some people upgrading and of course try to convince themselves that there's no real difference. But, there is a hell of a difference. We will be upgrading to Note10 next year and there will undoubtedly be huge improvements in it too..... Of course there will be people who will convince themselves that the Note9 is "just as good" when 10 comes out, but it won't be. It's human nature and understandable. For the record I didn't diss the Note8 or ANY previous Notes, they're all great phones for their generation, though every year there's enough significant improvement for our engineering team to upgrade. Plus 8 phones makes for a good tax write off. :)

      Like I said, you claim that he doesn't understand note users and that reviewers don't understand note users and that's inaccurate. You aren't the only qualification for note users, and not all note users can or need to move to the more 9 at the moment, not all can justify the cost at the moment, and not all switch simply because there's a new one with some upgrades.

    • @brianmsahin
      @brianmsahin 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CR1992.. I disagree. I don't want to repeat myself yet again. In my industry, not just my own colleagues, but people we liaise with, other consultants, architects, contractors, contract managers, on site supervisors, civil and mechanical construction heads are all raving about this new Note9. Not once in his review did he mention the fact that a huge percentage of Note buyers are engineering and technology oriented users. Why? It's because he doesn't know who the customer is. He might know you, but you don't use the Note as business professionals in the engineering disciplines use it. In fact most reviewers don't have a clue.. It's why they compare unrelated devices to the Notes and ask if upgrading from say an S device is a good idea or not. Different users, different device. If YOU don't understand that, you're wasting your money buying one.

      @@brianmsahin At last it's nice to hear frpm someone who knows how to use a Note and understands who uses it. I'm a civil engineer who works on large scale hydro electric projects. I'm working on one in Indonesia at the moment. I use the Note and got the Note9 a couple of weeks ago, the 512gb version. All of my project team has Note8 or Note9, it's an incredibly valuable tool, I keep all my AutoCad docs on it and use Spen to annotate and even adjust drawings when required and share via NFC with colleagues. It is VERY frustrating to hear reviewer after reviewer talking about a device and not even mentioning the fact that the users are not standard phone users. The Note is a business tool fot professionals. My wife is a corporate and patent lawyer and her Note accompanied her in court, it's so valuable for her with note taking and the ability to convert the notes to standard text. Unfortunately there are people like that chap you debated with who might have a Note but doesn't use it to full potential and basically agree with the ignorance of the reviewer who knows nothing about the device users. Such is life, but I do agree with everything you say. Well done!

There’s a noticeable difference in screen size and you’ll get a bigger battery to more than compensate. My other main reason is because I’ll soon be starting a professional career and with the note and s pen I’ll be able to do more. If your not sure still, watch comparison videos and make a list of things each phone can and can’t do, then see which features your ok losing

      Phones are similar except for the screen size, major difference. I had the Note 8 and the iPhone X and went with the Note 9. However, there is the main advantage with iPhones, the apps are nearly always better, some a great deal better. Most all apps (the ones that have the high download counts) are always written for the iPhone IOS, then they are "ported" to android, and sometimes not that well. Apps are what we use these phones for, and for now they are a better experience, some cases more features, look better among other reasons. That aside, I still bought the Note 9 because I use it more like a desktop, for file transfers, note taking/ Even though I am aware the experience and apps are and will be better on the iPhone for the foreseeable future, not to mention iPhones are updated with the latest OS, and they go several more years receiving updates unlike Samsung, lucky to get 2 OS updates over the life of the phone.

    imo it's not worth the upgrade. The Note 8 is still one the best phones you get out there right now. And why the hell would you spend 1k on another phone right away the next year when the only difference is some minor things. I use to have the Galaxy s6 3 years ago and when the note 8 came out I decided it was time to upgrade. A phone from 2015 vs a phone from 2017? Now that's one hell of an upgrade especially because it's the note series which offers some extra stuff compared to other phones without the s pen. Also another reason for me not to upgrade is I have the note 8 256gb version with a 256gbsd card, that's a 500gb phone I have right now in my pocket and not to mention the camera is amazing. And many people were saying at the beginning that after some time the phone will start slowing down and become laggy, well let me tell that's wrong. My phone still performs the same after all this time which is almost a year and I use my phone everday alot. I'm a heavy gamer and watch lot of videos on it.

  • @RunThatRC
    @RunThatRC 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's the funny thing about tech. People will eat up anything. I personally will wait for a better update. I'm not one to upgrade every year, even though I can afford it, I think it's a waste of money to just have the latest every year. It's just for people who have the need to impress. Unless you need the bigger battery and Bluetooth Spen. My note 8 last me all day so it's good for me. It's a year old with great battery life and no lag. 90% of my friends, including me, could care less what phone we own. Now if u still have a note 4 or 5 go for the note 9. You won't be disappointed 😀.
