i remember beastars being ignored for basically being a "furry" gate anime but now look at my boy legosi getting love and attention he deserves. the manga is great but the anime coupled with the music is just amazing

I do believe this is reference tp the "roman de renard" (tale of fox) a middleage tale about anthropomorphic characters representing the roles in society.
I think Will is one of the best versions of the main theme, it feels so melancholic yet so hopeful, it sounds so sad with how slow it is, the gaps between the notes give it the feeling of pure emotion, whether it be sadness, hopefulness, or hopelessness, or a mix of all three, it fits a character like Legosi perfectly.
I was about to make a playlist with all the different versions in case there wasn't a merged theme version so I have to thank you for that, this is much better :D
So glad this got a third season, yet I still feel sad every time I read the "final" in front of season... to know that we'll never get to see Legoshi and the others doing something new. Knowing we'll never get more content from such a remarkable show, likely never getting anything quite like it ever again. But alas, I guess it is true that all good things come to an end eventually. it really capture the complex nature of their society, it using a multiple instrument show how diverse are the society that they live in ,it capture what thing that you can't reach somewhere or something that is not real, like legoshi loving haru.
A lot of Satie's compositions also have that unique quality where they're somehow both sad yet uplifting at the same time. This theme has a similar feel. It's pleasant and even a little sweet but there's a deeper melancholy woven into it.

God what a good example of the motivic movement through this entire piece! the beastars theme is recurring in a lot more songs, but this is a great complication of the key points they used this theme. I love the way the composer was able to put multiple takes on the same motif, and attach multiple emotions to it. This OsT was masterfully crafted
A wolf who strives to overcome his identity as monster wolf , one who lures in darkness ,but end up as a wolf as a carnivore. He strive to become friends ( haru and legosi) but ended up being a carnivore with a herbivore.
The story I can imagine with this song is (at least the first one): A mother who has never treated her kids very well, and the kids rebelled on her (let's say they're 9 and 13 yrs old), and now she's looking at their corpses floating in a small lake. It's daytime. The mom is in realization of how distant her kids have become from her, and she's on her knees... crying. Conclusion: after all those years the parent had neglected her children, she'll have to accept the fact that all that neglection ultimately led to her children's death, and she was too late to save them.

Beastars is the best anime I've watched is so sad the music Is 10/10
The story I can imagine with this song is (at least the first one):
A mother who has never treated her kids very well, and the kids rebelled on her (let's say they're 9 and 13 yrs old), and now she's looking at their corpses floating in a small lake. It's daytime. The mom is in realization of how distant her kids have become from her, and she's on her knees... crying. Conclusion: after all those years the parent had neglected her children, she'll have to accept the fact that all that neglection ultimately led to her children's death, and she was too late to save them.
