This would be a head turner for sure. Perfect for cars with flat or slightly rounded surfaces. Quick questions though: With the flakes being so large, what's the texture like compared to hypershift and normal pearls? Is a heavier top coat needed to have everything lay flat?
Watching these videos as a nail polish enthusiast is amazing and hilarious, flakies have been a thing forever in the nail art community! I have a couple of nail polish colors incredibly similar to this. :)
Flakes have also been in automotive paint for a looooooong time. Probably before anyone thought of doing their nails so blingy. LOL The 70's were famous for super large heavy flake paint jobs. Many bass boats still use the style. 😁
I'm a polish maker and these flakes and pearls have been around before polish makers started using them. It's just that with youtube etc, dipping your car is a bigger thing than it used to be. A lot of the pearls we use are actually some of the same sources used in these videos. You just have to check with the company to be sure they're FDA approved.
@@JViello Not hypershift tho. The old amusement parks had wonderful candy flake paint on the rides like bumper cars. So it is one of my favorite effects. Hypershift started to come out in the late 80s for nail polish. I remember using them. But ya, most of the hypershifts that are used here have already been done with nail polish for years.
@@VioletPhoenixDude I'm sorry but I disagree wholeheartedly. What you are calling "hypershift" is what was called "flip flop" in the 50's and was very much used. It was also called Chameleon and was actually invented in 1921! Candy's, flip flops, pearls etc have been around for damned near 100 years!! Crazy stuff! We've improved on it over the years of course, but the basics are still the same.
I would love to see this type of flakes being "faded" from max load flakes on front to gradually nothing at the back of a car. Preferably over a dark metallic color.
I was just thinking this but the other way around, you see em drive up in your rear view with a normal colour. Then they pass you and turn into a whole different colour in the back
This is pretty dope, but would love to see how it looks with the flake layered; one coat flake, one coat clear to build up that depth. That helped me a lot back when I did a lot of flake on my car back in the day.
Sensory overload, I’ve never seen so much shift in color with the slightest movement. Truly a sick paint job. Being an old guy, I couldn’t drive a car that draws that much attention. If I were in my 20-40 range again I’d very well would consider this dip effect. My God it is insanely intense.
You can use bold colors like that as a accent! We painted a friends Mustang silver, then put a dark blue, purple flip stripe down the sides. With a little flame at the end. Started as a point at the front, and was only 1.5in wide at the back.
Dyc: What color would you like your car? Yes. Not personally my style, but like someone said, this would look awesome on the right low rider or the right chopper. Very cool!
For such a car it is too much. On a bike it would match better. I am looking for a colour for my Outback. The colour has to match with black bodyparts. Some kind of blue could it be.
I LOVE useing these types of pigments in my resin works! You can make some very convincing crystal opal resin stones useing these types of transparent flake pigments. It's how I can make the opals glow in the dark stupid bright as well. They look like legit magic glowing gemstones. I'd put these pigments in EVERYTHING if they were not so expensive an they can be a bit of a nightmare to work with. I can't have a tiny fan on in the room or anything high makeing a lot of static (like flat screens), cuz if so it's going to go EVERYWHERE. *An I mean everywhere* , my workspace looks like a unicorn sneezed on everything. 😅
This was so cool! I honestly might go even lower with the ratio, maybe 5 grams per 2 gallons? Also I bet it would look awesome over a bronze or copper base coat
Freaking gorgeous beyond belief! I'm not sure how I would feel having a finish like this on my personal vehicle. I just enjoyed watching it on your vehicle and just watching the way the son plays off of the flakes and all the super strong color shift goes through one side and then the other. Absolutely stunning!
That is some intense flake right there. Curious what some of the other colors would look like. Also, curious what the Candy Concentrate would do with this level of shift as well.
In a freaking heartbeat!!! That is so sick. I would need the wardrobe done up to match and just eat a bunch of acid and look at all the sounds that emanate
Normally I wouldn't be a fan of something like this but I'm really digging this color. I'd love to see more of these styles with some of the other colors.
Now Am I the only one hoping to get a super long video of just the pours sprays and reveals with the soundtracks from these videos? Relaxation eat your heart out
I'm 44, but looking at that makes me feel like I'm a kid again. Reminds me of the flashy-sparkly stickers, pencils, pens, and notepads that I used to get at the student store at my old Elementary School. For taking me down memory lane, I give this a solid 4, plus one for execution.
This is definitely my new favorite! I’ve would totally rock this IRL! Curious to see it on a silver or white base (just because). BTW loved the relaxing mixing music!
In the world of nail polish, we call this a holo flakey - usually a topcoat layered over black, like this car. It looks cool on my nails but I'm loving it even more on the car, even more than the regular hypershifts. Mix it in with a hypershift and you get a really "crunchy" holo sparkle effect but with the smoother, brighter coloring the hypershifts give. This is the one I want. I never could make up my mind before. I love that it's over all a little darker because so much black shows through.
in all the videos i've seen on this channel, i've never seen a shift so dramatic while it was still wet and being sprayed...you usually don't get the full effect until it's dry...i'm also amazed at how the flakes managed to come out of the sprayer and not be reduced to much smaller pieces...there were some pretty big ones left in the finished product
That's gorgeous! I would definitely do it on my own ride if I had the money. Impossible not to be impressed at seeing the effect and the sparkles. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
The shift is just mind blowing and over the top. The colors are beautiful but that's just to crazy for me. It would look pretty killer on a boat maybe but not my car. Again, love the video and production work, you guys killed it again. Thanks
Yes Sir! I have a new edge mustang. It would look sick on all of the sharp angles! You should look stylish while losing control, and plowing through a crowd!!
Those flakes are bonkers! 🤯 Also, please consider making a video on a metallic copper-maroon colour, similar to Chevrolet Aztec Bronze. Would love to see it on the SPLBRG S4 or another Audi as a pearls/candy experiment!
The vibrance looks amazing, even bolder than I expected! However, I'd personally use only a small fraction (at or less than 10% maybe), for a star speckled look. I'd want to see more of the base with these, with the flakes serving as an accent. They do indeed shift like crazy, just like you said.
this channel is like those "so satisfying" channels only with paint and cars. This is absolutely baller and I would 100% do it on my own car (but I'd probably be compelled to go out and buy a minivan to do this to because I'm a nasty little gremlin and that is my lewk)
Pretty Amazing... Not sure I would for an every day driver, but a show car would be awesome with that on it. Definitely grabs your eyes attention. I like it.
Jaw dropping! I would rate it as a 3/5… This is amazing, but I had to adjust my scale after seeing that gorgeous Red to Black Hypershift over Wicked Wine.
Hi there im looking to do some white wheel centres with some sort of flake like this over the top id love to see what these would look like and if it even works over white base. Thanks
I love this and I would absolutely do this on my vehicle, the fun thing is that the glitter you used is something I use as a Nail Technician all the time, those of us in the nail world call that "Unicorn Glitter"
Going through the older videos, and saw this color again! I would love to see this over that musso black or however you spell lol. With half pigment load. So it glitters 😎👍
My first thought when you started mixing was, "Too many shades of pink for me" but where the hell did the green come from? That's gorgeous! Probably not on my whole car, but flames on the hood and sweeping down the sides would be awesome!
Wow. Based on those flakes and that color this isn't at all how I expected it to turn out. It looks amazing up close with that rainbow 🌈 but like others have said it's almost too much from a distance and I LOVE everything sparkly.
Great result. How about "Spiked Punch" Supershift Flakes on Mood Ring Dip? Seal the Mood Ring Dip an give it a even more unique look. Maybe just ½ or ¼ of the amount flakes.
I would love something like this. Here's an idea...start with a dark blue / purple shift as a base, then use only 1 jar for a very fine spray all over, then add another 1/2 - 1 jar and spray splotches like clouds and hopefully the result will look like deep space (the first, fine coat would hopefully look like stars sprinkled all over the car) with galaxy clusters (from the heavier patches)!! Of course, I know nothing about painting cars and the products, but if that kind of paint job could be done, I might try it!
This is a crazy color shift. I would rock this on my personal vehicle and also I am curious to what this would look like with a white base coat. That might be an interesting look
@DYC question for you. I have a Bronco 2 door coming this month that I have had on order since July 2020. So I am super excited about receiving it and want to dip my truck. However I worry about going off roading and mudding, taking doors off etc. How well will the dip paint hold up to all this? Any thoughts? Should I just get a permanent paint job rather than dip?
*Ok so would you rock this look on your car?*
Yessss
Maybe a bit too flashy for my personal liking but still looks good :)
Time to dip my boat...
This would be a head turner for sure. Perfect for cars with flat or slightly rounded surfaces. Quick questions though: With the flakes being so large, what's the texture like compared to hypershift and normal pearls? Is a heavier top coat needed to have everything lay flat?
Oh hell yes.
Watching these videos as a nail polish enthusiast is amazing and hilarious, flakies have been a thing forever in the nail art community! I have a couple of nail polish colors incredibly similar to this. :)
Was just thinking this! 😂

"Oil slick" is one of my favorite colors, so I'm loving this one!! Looks like a glittery oil slick 👌
I would love to see this type of flakes being "faded" from max load flakes on front to gradually nothing at the back of a car.
Preferably over a dark metallic color.
You just blew my mind with how good that would look
@@masquerademage Honestly I got it from a book. Although in the book it’s pure blue flakes over silver metallic.
I was just thinking this but the other way around, you see em drive up in your rear view with a normal colour. Then they pass you and turn into a whole different colour in the back
I love that idea. 👍
kinda do a flame pattern affect with the magic sprinkles
This is pretty dope, but would love to see how it looks with the flake layered; one coat flake, one coat clear to build up that depth. That helped me a lot back when I did a lot of flake on my car back in the day.
This sounds awesome. Hope they implement it sometime.

Being old is the best for this kind of thing - reduced amount of f*cks.
Never too old! You want it you do it! 😘

You could do whatever you want.
Throw that on an old 1940s Ford coupe. You could be 100 years old for all we care. Go with our blessings!
This would look amazing over a deep violet, almost indigo; and a bright almost fluorescent yellow.
Dyc: What color would you like your car?
Yes.
Not personally my style, but like someone said, this would look awesome on the right low rider or the right chopper. Very cool!
Haha I had the exact same thoughts. Both the "yes" joke and that this would look insane on a low-rider or a chopper XD
Base coat a gas tank and matching fenders in this, then pinstripe with super heavy black lines.
For such a car it is too much. On a bike it would match better.
I am looking for a colour for my Outback. The colour has to match with black bodyparts. Some kind of blue could it be.
Totally awesome, so much color changes going on. I'd like to see some other types of color shift flakes. Great job!!
That's dope. Needs autoflex clear and it would be absolutely nasty.
For sure.
Agree

Needs a clear coat but the flakes look amazing.
This was so cool! I honestly might go even lower with the ratio, maybe 5 grams per 2 gallons? Also I bet it would look awesome over a bronze or copper base coat
Yes, WAY less flake. I want to see if looks like a galaxy.
This was 10 per gal, 20g total. I'd do like 7 per gal or so
The shift is crazy extreme!!! Remind me of a hummingbird.
Yea that would be a good theme. I’m sure someone could get creative with that.
I’ve been watching these videos for hours and am so impressed and in complete awe!!! I keep gasping at how beautiful everything is!
Freaking gorgeous beyond belief! I'm not sure how I would feel having a finish like this on my personal vehicle. Dude, that is so BOLD! That would be a standout paint job even amongst other nice jobs. I'd love to see some of the other products those guys offer!
In a freaking heartbeat!!! That is so sick. I would need the wardrobe done up to match and just eat a bunch of acid and look at all the sounds that emanate
Does the flake affects ever clog the sprayer especially if they are fluffy
You can already see as he spraying it down how crazy is going to be
No Words!!! The BEST so far by miles!!! everycar should be painted like that!!! Love it!!! I want one like it!!!
Funny to see a German license plate. ;-)
Anyways: That effect just very subtle on a white car would be crazy, I think.
Normally I wouldn't be a fan of something like this but I'm really digging this color. I'd love to see more of these styles with some of the other colors.
This was one of the most satisfying dips lately! I definitely want to put this on my Kia carnival 🤣😍

8:06 - Incredible. Best thing I have ever seen!!!
Insane amount of color change while still sparkling… 😵 amazing!!
This looks nearly identical to an eyeshadow I use fairly often. Its so beautiful to see it on a car 😍
The huge flakes make this look super unique, I’m loving the style!
Wow that is a crazy and awesome color shift. I like how abruptly it changes.
NEED to see one of the colors of these crazy flakes over a fire engine red (or cinnamon red) base. These are bonkers!!!
I hope he does it over a bunch of different colors on his little sample shapes. It seemed like the black played a huge part in the final outcome.
Amazing color. The color shift is crazy. Green to violet to gold
Pretty Amazing... Not sure I would for an every day driver, but a show car would be awesome with that on it. Definitely grabs your eyes attention. I like it.
Crazy! Seems great for a show car that you want to make pop. My wife is adamant about wanting to see this on a white base coat for comparison.
I've been waiting for something that would look good on my Subaru outback, and I think this is it!
I would like to do something like this on my Forester XT
my 2017 Black Equinox would love that!! now i know why they call it shift! love it.. great job!
Really groovin on Grave Digger, Spiked Punch, and Vortex. This a hard core yes.
This is my favorite so far lol its so pretty and when it shifted to green it blew my mind. I wasnt expecting that

It hits all the colors of the rainbow! This is one of my favorites by far!

Pretty! I like the colours and how pixilated it looks
It looks wonderful. And the bloopers we hilarious🤣🤣👏👏
Wow! Very nice. I would probably use something darker (sucker for blues and darker) if they have it - but definitely a nice effect.
This is so awesome!! It looks perfectly shiny and beautiful! I would love to have a color like that on my Mountainbike! 😍🚴♀️
Minus this outrageous, massive color shift, it reminds me of the metal flakes look of flat-bottom fiberglass speed boats back in the day - mid '70s!

Supershift is a great name for this product. Not sure id want that much sparkle but it looks amazing.
That is amazing, the colors are incredible. Yea I would rock that.
Omfg I loved it from the first spray!!!!! So cool and fun. Looks amazing over black and would love to see it over white. So freaking cool!!

Looks OK from afar but then you get closer and OMG it's frikkin awesome
I love the bloopers at the end of these videos! 🤣
This is definitely one of the top 3 you have done!!
The up close shots make it look like the same effect used in Boats, with the big metalflake gelcoats they use (Not paint it's in the gel), Cool look
Great result.
How about "Spiked Punch" Supershift Flakes on Mood Ring Dip?
Seal the Mood Ring Dip an give it a even more unique look.
Maybe just ½ or ¼ of the amount flakes.
Car looks like a mad mood ring!!! I love this look!
When spraying flake what size tip are you using and do you need an additive to make the flake lay down flat
german frontplate is very nice
OMG I wish I had the money to get this done to my ride ....simply gorgeous!
This would look awesome over the pearl bomb done a while back. One of my fav. Looks like galaxies and nebulas and all in space. Stunning.
Awesome paint job, was just wondering what it would look like on a different base coat color say gun metal grey
WOW! love it , would definitely paint my car in this, one problem how would you register it what color is this car?
Yes! I'm in love with this color!!!
10/10. Would definitely recommend! It’s just fantastic!
Looks like the orion nebula. Fantastic. Love it.
Love it, love all the colours that it comes out in BUT close up, not so sure, it would take getting used to.
This is a crazy color shift. I would rock this on my personal vehicle and also I am curious to what this would look like with a white base coat. That might be an interesting look
