Great demonstration and so much easier to understand when it’s done on an actual novice!

Exactly what I thought lol he really made all the classic errors and it was very interesting and valuable to watch how they were solved

I have been using this method for the last few months with good success. I feel like the motion is more natural and a traditional strict movement. In real life, who doesn't at least move their hips when lifting overhead?

Can anyone else get the bounce without the bar but lose it once you have it in your hands?

So when the bar comes down and when the hips are forward that is the time to start the press???
Not after the hips come back?

The press is a very complex movement involving the entire kinetic chain. It requires a LOT of practice to perfect your form and as you get stronger it’s even more critical to maintain form. This video is an exceptional review of proper technique.

His hand is bent back. He will get problems with higher weights.

Soooo….I don’t intend to take away from what you’re doing here, but this is just a reiteration of Starting Strength. Where does the “2.0” come from? Rippetoe has been teaching this exact method for YEARS

The early SS books utilized a neck movement, not a hip movement.
