Thanks very much for this video ❤ Me and my Gramps are the biggest Spitfire fans, he has also been to Coningsby to see the beautiful RAF Eurofighters Thanks very much ❤🎉
There are many special aircraft in the World but the magnificent Supermarine Spitfire has to be up there in the Top Ten. She is a gem. Great to see her alongside the Typhoon, showing the present that she was carrying out the same duties of the fighters today. Magnificent & iconic
We owe so much to this marvel of aviation. Such a privilege to see one still flying. Thanks to the BBMF and Ted and Nikos for bringing this to us. Lest we forget.
Not too many aircraft have held my gaze quite so much as a Spitfire. One still evades me in terms of a live experience but one I'm looking forward too. This example is a stunner flying under fitting skies in the place we call its home. Wonderful too see. Long may she fly for all too enjoy. Spitfire, Merlin and Lincolnshire backdrop make for a beautiful moment. Thanks TCS
my initial thought is always that it's a cool looking plane, but then when you realise the importance of it, the history behind it and the lives of the pilots who flew in them, it brings a huge amount of pride and remembrance
Hi Nikos, absolutely amazing. I was there wirh my wife in my Birthday on the 5th and that Spitfire was in the hanger. The most amazing news is it is painted in my deceased Grandfather's Polish 303 Squadron. Sent a chill down my spine and a tear to my eye. Thanks Nikos, always amazing . Shame we not in Lossiemouth at the same time this year 👍
Oii oiii thanks for your comment. Glad you enjoyed the video and had a good time with the BBMF. Oh wow 303 Sqn “Kościuszko”. The squadron markings would have been RF That’s very special you seen that
Ahhh a Spitfire AND a Typhoon in the same video!! Probably my all time favourite two British planes! Throw in a Mosquito and you've got yourself a deal! 🤣
NEVER IN THE FIELD OF HUMAN CONFLICT WAS SO MUCH BY SO MANY TO SO ALL HEARTS GO TO TO THE FIGHTER PILOTS. WE FIGHT ON GROUNDS IN THE STREETS IN FIELDS WITH GROWING STREGNTH IN THE AIR WE WILL DEFEND OUR ISLAND NO MATTER WHAT THE COST MAYBE.
MK356 is a Mk IXe Spitfire built in 1944, originally based at Cosford. She flew with 443 sqn and served on D-Day. She is one of only a handful of spitfires still flying that flew on D-Day. Interestingly enough, she flies with a US built Packard Merlin (as found in the P-51 Mustang), rather than a RR Merlin. This was all that was available when she was originally restored
