In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals (officially known as the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs). These goals have the power to create a better world by 2030, by ending poverty, fighting inequality and addressing the urgency of climate change. Guided by the Goals, it is now up to all of us, governments, businesses, civil society and the general public to work together to build a better future for everyone.

This was absolutely beautiful. These next 100 years will be the turning point of our species. It is up to us, all of us, to ensure that our species continues to thrive.
As an American, Christian, and historic conservative, I support these Global Goals and am committed to achieve them. I have the chance through UN Global Compact LEAD to work with 50 outstanding corporations (none perfect) to achieve all of these goals before 2030. If nothing else, pick the one goal that speaks most to you and help make a difference, even if it's in your own neighborhood. We can do this!
its good to see that there are sensible Christians over here, most of them here dont even read the bible, the bible says (and this is kinda translated between dutch and English) that god has given the sword at the government, and we should listen to them.
this has always been said by my christian parents so that i wouldnt do bad things when i was young, and now i am an atheist, kinda, and my eyes have been opened how christian sometimes act and how immature they are.
+gerjan alons I cannot deny that a lot of atrocities have been committed in the name of one god over another, including by Christians. But if you begin with the Golden Rule, a similar concept in almost every religion, theist or not, you can build a better neighborhood, town, city, country and world. These goals came from years of dialog engaging all sovereign UN member states to improve the human condition for all. This is building common wealth.
Selfishness breeds fear, ignorance, hatred, violence and war. This was a central message of Laudato Si, the Catholic Pope's encyclical. Our selfishness poisons our relationships with each other, our care for Creation and our relationship with the Creator however you define it in your heart. I am astonished how so many of the comments here are trying to position it as the opposite. What are they so afraid of?

Its better if it stops half way but you need to understand what is half way, what is this point.
I Think this job will finish providing abundance of wealth and material things only, this is the half way point, it will not and never be able to stop poverty and crisis in middle east will continue, and decline in spiritualism, human values of love, What you really need is to realise this is the other half truth and this education needs to be implemented as well as spiritual knowledge, the half knowledge is of the Atom, the material, once it thinks it has developed this half, the so called part of the universe you currently only know, then you/it needs to stop and then you implement the other half which all has become oblivion to, so today you think the 17 global goals will actually do the job.
