  • Welcome to Miesau, Germany!
Here is just a sneak peek into my village. It is a quaint, quiet village that I now call home. I hope you enjoy this little tour.
    Follow me on Instagram! @nkline695
Also, sorry for the sound and unsteady camera. This was my very first time recording outdoors and I was a little unprepared. So please bear with me as I learn and grow in this process.

Wow Miesau. I lived there for 5 years. Your video starts our my old street where we lived and you walk right in front of our old house. Thanks for your video. Wish we were still there. Enjoy.

Ahh.... Miesau... "The Armpit of Germany!". It's actually pretty scenic, in the Summertime, if you hike by the Schwimbad. Elschbach is the section of where you were at, by the B-50, by the way. Just off the village.
It looks like there are a few things that changed since I was there... Mostly the same, but yeah...
The Imbiße used to have excellent raum schnitzel ünd Pommes Frites right outside M.A.D's gates, to the left, as you're leaving. I also used to buy Italian food next to that place. The Turkish food, across the street (by the ARAL station) was also excellent.
Luckily, Miesau doesn't have many gypsies. That's more Sankt Wendel or Hömburg.
Anywho, thanks for sharing this video!

So funny! I basically grew up in Miesau and lived there all my life until I moved to NYC in 2015. I know every little corner of this village and I miss it a lot. You guys must have a good time there! Do you still live there? Let me know if you wanna see some local spots and I'd be happy to share them with you!

Yes we love it here! If you have recommendations I’d love to hear them! Nowadays we have a village Facebook page that we get constant updates and talk to eachother for various things like recommendations, trash days, and get togethers!

Great video. You certainly don't have that unique German account. You sound very much American. How is it that you went from America to Germany? Must be a very interesting story. While stationed in Germany with the Army which was a "lifetime" ago was the Army Depot there in Miesau.

I lived in Miesau when I was 15 & 16. My dad was in the Army. I am a painter. I used to paint the field she is showing us.

@@nicolealysse6013 Hey Nicole and Ron. Nicole you should know that Ron and I know each other as we both were on a police department outside of Chicago. Ironically we were both stationed at the Depot in the army but at different times. Ron was in the 80s while I was 75-77. Being unaccompanied and 18 it was kind of different then, sometimes hard and lonely. Your videos are great. Please keep them coming. We thoroughly enjoy your eye view for ideo and your faith. Stay well. Mike B

My village also, the gelato place will open in late spring/early summer, but who needs it, Tony is the best! If you haven't seen it yet the GIANT storks' nest is a on the main street a little past edeka on the right side of the road where the Hermes distribution center is. Look up it is on a pole there. You can read about the history of the storks on the Miesau wiki page I believe, they are even on the village flag.

Stephanie Watts wow that’s so cool! And thank you for that information. I’m still sort of new to town. I haven’t even had Tony’s yet! Appreciate it.

No problem, we have been here 10 years and are right around the corner! I haven't seen Tony yet this year, I am wondering if he got stuck in Italy - he only comes here for the spring/summer then goes back home.

Sorry, after seeing your question and answer video, it was obvious that your husband is in the military and both of you are from the USA.
Really enjoyed the story on your lost dogs and then finding them again. I would recommend you join the local Volks March Club there. Every town/village has one. It is a great way to mean people, see the country side and meet some really great people.

These signs are written on the houses by the sternsinger. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_singers ) 😊
The letters stand for Latin "Christus mansionem benedicat" (= "Christ bless this house")

You CAN have a good time here, if you want it too. ;)
The storks are coming back from the south, so you can see them more now.
But it's too early i think, because there was no real winter this year.
And in Germany we say, that the storks bring the babys. ;)
