Thank you guys for keeping the 80s alive with your amazing covers! "Sara" has always held a special place in the hearts of many who grew up in that era. All of us had a woman who we pined for, but for some reason was unattainable, and the lyrics of this song perfectly capture that longing and the melancholy of unrequited love. The object of our infatuation may have not been literally named "Sara", but in spirit she was the "Sara" of this Starship classic.
Well said, my GenX friend. Being a teen in the 80s was made even more amazing by inspiring, romantic music like Sara. Never more than now in 2021, do I feel so fortunate to have been young when I was. And that was the amazing 80s.

One of Starships's best songs with a killer lead vocal by Mickey Thomas. This HSCC cover does full justice to it and Jordan's voice fits perfectly in that great tenor pocket that Mickey sang in. Just superb!

Unfortunately, I'm not as impressed.
I wish they'd actually had a harmonica, and the lead vocal didn't convey the sadness that should've been conveyed, for how fast they played it and the inflections they chose. (The fact that he and his backup made a point of smiling conveys how little they actually comprehended the lyrics.)
Plus I think they should've faded out at the end instead of ending it on the A-note.

Oh, man, what a great cover! I heard Starship live in Texas in the mid-1980s with Mickey and Grace, and this arrangement by Con brought me to tears. The vocals and music were wonderful, and the mixing by Dave was perfect. Thank you so much!

To all the band members performing in this cut, especially Jordan, absolutely spot on!! I made some negative comments on a recent video, but you have all come back in typical HSCC fashion and brought an unexpected tear to my eye after auditioning this. Every member who put forth their God given talent in this cover should be deeply satisfied at the end result. This song reached #1 in the USA back in 1986 as performed by Starship and Sara was named after the then-wife of Starship's Mickey Thomas. If this version by HSCC were released to radio stations today, it would, without a doubt in my mind top the charts again! Jordan, may I suggest having a go at "Miracles". How many out there agree?? 🎤

Once again Jordan shows he belongs up there with the likes of Steve Perry, Mickey Thomas, Pete Cetera, Brian Delph. His voice has no limits. He can hit any note with no effort. Is so easy for this great singer. and he doesn´t loose tone not once. Great version by the best of Australia.
