How do you repair an IPhone 6s Plus with the screen turns black when using an app. It right away turn on and then when swiping to unlock screen it turn off the screen, not the phone just the screen itself.

I replaced the battery on my sons 6s. Screen worked then it stopped after I closed up the phone. Shine torch through screen and I see a faint picture- back light issues. I brought a new screen . It worked !! I turned of phone took out connection to ensure right screws were in place for protective plate. Connected screen etc and nothing again!!, no back light issue returned. If it was the back light filter would I have intermittent back light? Or would it just fails 100% I’m not sure if disconnected battery after making sure it worked. Can this affect the screen back light

Stupid tiny ass filter always shitting the bed.. why do they disappear tho when they blow? Always just gone..
