Joy in the Morning - Pt Ulhas Kashalkar Sings Bhibhas

Pt Ulhas Kashalkar is a connoisseurs' delight. A thinker and a traditionalist, his gayaki reflects immaculate ragadari with his own stamp of creative individualism. Having trained under Pt Gajananabuva Joshi he is identified as a Gwalior vocalist but considers himself to be a student of all Gharanas.
"I have had a variety of influences on my music. Even my Gurus brought a multiplicity of influences with them. I like great music from all gharanas. As a listener, I am also a student. But,my preferences are with individual musicians rather than gharanas. As such, I would be hard put to say which gharana's style dominates my own singing. I don't consciously try singing in any particular style. I am more concerned that my music should be pleasing, and communicate the mood of the raga."

Very melodious. I am.hearing Pt. Kashalkar jee for first time. I intially thought Pt. Kumar Gandharv has influenced Pt. Kashalkar jee and googled and didnt find Gandharv jee in Guru. Excellent singing.
