He is mad she challenged his authority as an Emperor and disrespected her husband. I'm sure he knew how much she cared about him, but she acted in an unrestrained way and was obstinate, creating a public spectacle.
Qing ethics dictated that if an official witnessed the emperor doing something that'd be of harm to the nation, or, in the case of imperial concubines, of harm to himself/against filial piety/etc, it was their responsibility to try and guide him in the right direction. Enabling bad behavior like Ling was doing with the deer blood wine was viewed as an act of disloyalty. So, yeah, his pride was hurt because he didn't want to believe he was in the wrong, but she was doing exactly what would've been expected of her as empress.

It’s formal sign of respect.. before she doesn’t really have an ultimate title.. and most were private times he calls her Ruyi.. now most of their time is in public so..he can’t just talk informally.
Kate Li but it’s also what he did to Empress Xiaoxian; at first he’d call her by her maiden name. As they grew estranged, he began to call her “Empress”. He’s doing the same here

Sounds like your blaming her for the relationship ending sour when it had nothing to do with her. Its the emperor who became distant and lost trust in her on a whim, he also TORTURED her mentally and physically. Also she did not overstep, it’s her job to ensure the emperor is doing his duties properly and stays healthy. She did her best, but she didn’t deserve this.

He's mad at her for insisting he prioritize his well-being knowing his well-being directly affects the management of a whole country. A fool.

I just notice the emperor doesn't call Ruyi by her name anymore instead he calls her 'Empress'

He did the same thing with the first Empress, remember when she was on her death bed she said he didn't call her by her name anymore.

I really love the English translation 🤣🤣🤣
Ya know. Maybe men should listen to their first wife or whatever.
3rd wife I think
SanBao sure can move fast.
Thank you for english sub
This emperor 😡
Right?! Out of all the dramas, he is my least favourite. He's so easily manipulated. How did someone so weak become the emperor??
KU KU BIRD ARHHH?? Just like the Emperor in Empresses in the palace. This drama is the sequel
Well we moved from “bitch” to “slut” damn
Wonder where is Li Yu.
Same
Sad queen..
What a devil this jinzhong is! Tempting the emperor and manipulating consort ling.
Wait what is going on
