So, when Brownsound left...we left the Sum as well. guess what, the most cheered songs on stage now is the songs from the Brownsound era...the best of solo's is from him.
Hey, don't speak for everyone! I agree that that's what made them special and unique. But i love all their songs. And i will never leave Sum 41. I've been a fan for 8 years and i still am!

I dont like the way Cone said that Tom from Gob does everything that Dave does, but more. They'll never replace him, and just like the reviews and fan's opinions of Underclass Hero have proven, Sum 41 are spiralling downwards, which is a shame considering how great their other albums (with Brownsound) were.

Well I think Dave has an awesome unique voice which wasn't used enough in Sum 41. But if you've seen them live in concert or on videos and can hear Dave, ull see he really contributes to the vocals. Try watching Sum 41 live at Pukkelpop here on youtube.
I enjoyed the diversity in their earlier records. Half hour of power sounded like something from an extreme sports game. All killer no filler was more skate punk. DTLI was hard punk and Chuck was like metal. It was nice.
@DeepGuitarL there were music differents in the band, dave wanted to play more metal music, but they didnt want to play metal, so he left the band, but they are still friends, in 2008 he was on a concert of them, and jumped on the stage and played 1 song together with them ;D
Sure, as a dun-dun-dun root note bass player and there's nothing wrong with that and for sure he's the right bassist for sum 41. But as a musician, ignoring everything else, Brownsound is waaaay more talented.

I hate to hear this as much as any other die hard sum fan, but I know it will happen in the near future. I'm afraid they will be releasing their last album coming up. :(

Have you listened to Tom's (new guitarist) old band, Gob? They had some pretty good songs. A lot of them sound a bit like Sum 41's first albums. Muertos Vivos on the other hand has a pretty heavy sound to it, with some sort of mix of hard rock, metal and punk. Personally, my favourite album was dtli. The songs where Stevo had vocals were good too. I think Tom and Sum 41 have just mellowed out, although their new album is supposed to be similar to their older ones, hopefully they're right.

Their music just doesn't sound the same anymore. Underclass hero was far more melodic and light than anything they've made before and SBM sounded like a Broadway show. It's combination of piano and whispering sounds like more like a goth based band.

Dave was a big loss to Sum41... without fiery riffs and solos, they look like a plain punk band... and im too disappointed 4 what happened 3 years ago.. Even some said that Underclass Hero was only a junk... I appreciate how Deryck continue the band without Dave.. anyways I lyk Underclass Hero... "With Me" pleased my ears and other undrclass stuff, but back to AKNF, DTLI and mostly CHUCK...

Don't know how you can say that... It's probably my favourite. Musically It is definitely their most accomplished.
Also I don't wanna take anything away from Stevo, he's an amazing drummer and hilarious guy.
