- Me playing Stairway to heaven on harp. My first babystept in contemporary (rock) music on my all new electric harp.
Enjoy my version of Stairway to Heaven, originally by Led Zeppelin (duh). Janne-Minke performs LIVE on her electric harp.
Hi, I'm a harpist, too and I loved this arrangement of Stairway To Heaven. Did you compose this arrangement yourself or did you buy a written arrangement? If you bought the arrangement could you tell me where?

@allibrator Both of us are great! We are different..Janne-Minke plays an Electric Harp, I play acoustic. I guess it's safe to say we are the best 2 harp covers of Stairway on the internet ;-) Keep it up Janne-Minke! Your videos are beautiful and growing in popularity!

sounds amazing on an electric harp! To answer your question, I'm so busy with school (I graduate this year) that I havent taken the time to record and mess around with the music I love. I will hopefully post something new soon! keep up the great work!

Beautifully done! There's a place for every type of music on harp, these days. My hubby hates the little tinkly sound, but good music of all kinds still appeals to him.

Sorry, wasn't fishing for a response. I have 2 babies of my own and their mother is my shining light, so please take the comment in the context in which it was meant, which I think you did anyway - with a pinch of salt. Just out of interest (I haven't had chance to watch much more of your stuff yet but do you do any other classic rock stuff? If so, can you play Run For Home, Lindisfarne? I think it would suit the harp perfectly... Sorry I realise you aren't a Juke Box ;-)

This is very well done and probably the most complete version of Stairway for harp that I have found on TH-cam, but there is a part of me that is still disappointed that no one is awesome enough to be able to play the guitar solo on harp. I imagine the 16th triplets near the end of the solo would be nearly unmanageable at speed, however. Good job!

Wow ! That really is an amazing performance, and congrats on making it right through the piece. I've not heard anyone before put quite so much life, anargy and spirit into harp playing. You really seem to expand the voice of the instrument and raise the bar for other players to try to reach.

Spectacular. I spent 15 years trying to perfect the guitar part alone, and here is the whole thing on one instrument. I always put the harp in the low category of musical instruments. But this lady really displays the skill involved in playing this instrument. Wonderful stuff I must say. Cheers
i am learning guitar.. got 2 this video somehow and this is the first time i heard somebody playing the harp.. i should say it is a lovely instrument and the performance was amazing.. :) although i didnt understand how the instrument works as i could not see any frets like the guitar.. lol.. ;)
Wow! I love electric harps! I didnt know you can get Camacs in other colour besides blue. Now, is that The Blue, the Big Blue or the Little Big Blue? (but obviously not blue xD) I like the sound of electric harps!! Maybe I should trade one of my pedal harps for an electric harp.

Amazing! There was a girl at my highschool that played this on her harp. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen and I never thought I would see it again. Very well done. Thumbs up, favorite, and here's a big smily face!! :D haha
god i hav e shivers up my back listening to this, excellent, i think this is amazing on the harp you play it so well, i thought the guitar was nice, but this just blows that away . sweet, makes my guitar effort at this seem lame :(
iv been listening 5 times, first its too slow on begining, and on some parts like am listening a nintendo..it must be some altitude in sound, maybe you can not hear..but thats the way that I hear it and its my opinion.

Just watched some of your other stuff on Reverbnation - very impressive. I particularly liked the Baroque Flamenco. Your band, in my humble opinion, needs more...fills. Great playing, great singing and still 10-out-of-10!!! ;-)
Fantastic, really great, except for the last part. You shouldn`t play heavy metal power chords, instead rearrange it for a harp. It will sound better, and your arm will hurt less for sure :) However, great playing and emotion.

Nice. But I disagree - the harp was never a "soft" instrument for "crappy" old music,..its was, and always will be an instrument used by angels to inspire,...and many thanks for the inspiration! Very nice interpretation of STH!

a lot of people dont realize that this is probably THE most difficult instrument to play (other than the kazoo), and she played one of THE most brilliant songs out there!

@maxtheaxe33 I understood perfectly, no offense taken ;-) The past years I have really tried to find my way in contemporary/rock music with my classical influences. I think I finally found my angle with my all new band Moiren (find moirenmusic on reverbnation or facebook). This is called rubato, a proper musical technique used for greater emotional expressiveness, especially in a slow, sombre song like this.
wow!!! although i dont like classical music (and at times classical instruments) i always admire people who adjust their music-interests in the instruments they know and love to play!!!

@bunniethetank Well, it IS a hard part ;-) I play the whole piece by heart in one take, so in the end it gets really hard in your arms and hands. Also I try to play with a lot of feeling and emotion (and not just simply strike the right notes), that too takes a lot of energy. Thanks for viewing.

Thank you for your comment. This is my own arrangement and I don't have the sheetmusic (I'm sorry). I played this song on my electric harp and the other one is an antique Lyon & Healy, I use that harp for older music.
