I’ve searched and searched for the Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge store on Amazon and I can’t find it. Why are there no links to it in any of these videos?
Thank you for the recipe, but unfortunately the show and its major purpose was an epic fail. There is no Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge Store front. I even called Amazon customer service and they could not locate it. My son and I watched the entire show and were so excited to try out the recipes and download them. The whole point for the contestants was to win the money and to have their creations featured on the Amazon storefront. We were so disappointed and frustrated. You know we want the recipes as we have spent hours searching for them and though we will watch another video to get them, we also wanted to download all of them, not just the ones we remembered off the top of our heads. If the show follows through with their promises, please put the link with your videos. Even the qr code at the end of each episode is just a link to the Dr. Seuss store, which does not have a section for downloadable recipes. It is not the Dr. Seuss baking challenge store. So disappointed.
INGREDIENTS Cristina & Kerrie's Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies ⅓ cups Granulated Sugar 3⁄4 cups Brown Sugar 3⁄4 cups Unsalted Butter 1⁄2 cups Hazelnuts 1⁄2 cups Milk Chocolate Chips 2 cups All-Purpose Flour 3⁄4 tsp Kosher Salt 3⁄4 tsp Baking Soda 1⁄2 tsp Cornstarch 6-8 tbsp Chocolate Hazelnut Spread 1 tsp Sea Salt 1 Egg DIRECTIONS Cristina & Kerrie's Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies Step 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Step 2 In a stand mixer or with a hand mixer, cream the granulated sugar, brown sugar and butter with a paddle attachment on medium speed until the mixture looks smooth. Do not over cream so that the butter gets too light and fluffy. Step 3 Reduce the speed to low, slowly add the egg and vanilla and mix until fully incorporated. Step 4 Scrape the bottom of the bowl with a spatula, add the chocolate chips and hazelnuts and mix for an additional 15 to 30 seconds until combined. Add the flour, salt, baking soda, and cornstarch, and continue to mix on low speed until just combined. Step 5 Using a 2 ounce cookie scoop, scoop the cookies onto the parchment-lined baking sheets 2 to 3-inches apart. Step 6 Make a divot in the center of the cookie to hold the chocolate hazelnut spread and spoon some of the spread into each cookie. Take an additional scoop of dough and press it into a flat disc. Cover the hazelnut spread half and sandwich the top pressing along the edges to encase the cookie. Step 7 Flatten slightly with the palm of your hand, add additional extra chocolate chips on top for garnish and a sprinkle of Maldon sea salt. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden around the edges. Step 8 Remove from the oven and let cool for about 5 minutes then place on a rack to cool completely. Serve or place in an air-tight container with parchment for up to a week.
To everyone asking the same question: 1. Use the QR code at the end of each episode 2. Once it takes you to the Dr. Seuss store, click the drop-down menu button on the right and go to the baking challenge 3. Select whichever recipe your heart desires ~Enjoy🤗
You really need to hire someone to plug in your mixer before making videos. That would be their whole job. Plug in stuff. Ha! Me - will work for cake. Funny story, sort of. I baked a bunch of brownies for a family event. On the way to the event I was rear ended. The woman that hit me was 7 months pregnant and I was trying to calm her down because trauma and adrenaline. Bad for babies. I started feeding her brownies and it really helped her a lot. Don't underestimate the power of baking!
