By tightening the screws to the drain outlet, as you showed in the video, saved Christmas for me and my family. Thanks!

Thank you so much! You just saved me a $200. service call. I followed exactly what you said and then replaced bottom panel and screwed door back together, turned the power and water back on. Problem solved.

Thanks! Today I fixed it myself the same way. Machine got returned from repair shop telling me it was not leaking anymore and they could not find anything after 8 full runs..... And yes, when installed in my kitchen again, after one run, beep, beep, beep. I opened up and dried machine myself and also, in my case, these screws where not tight at all, when I pressed the pump housing with very little pressure, I could see the pump housing moving downwards. I carefully tightened the screws, ran another full program an the issue is fixed. Be careful not tighten them too much as the screws are in rather "soft"plastic. I am glad I did have a look at it myself and got the issue/fix confirmed in this video. Repair shop was ready to replace the complete pump housing and I saved myself a €200,- bill or even a new machine.

honestly, these dishwashers are so simple, nothing compared to laser printers. i cant understand how they are able to charge these prices for a little bit of rusting "stainless steel"

I love the pipe idea would never of thought of this… 💯😂
But I am here because my friend has joined the E-15 club I hope it’s something as simple as this! I have the same Bosch silence plus dishwasher as her but thankfully only need a new detergent dispenser inside as rinse aid kept leaking and causing a foam party and leaks.

Great video Tom. You are putting me out of business...lol. I have 34 years as a professional in-home technician. You saved about $ 350 .

That’s the problem today with TH-cam videos people want and need to save money. But in your defence you need customers and in the customers defence there is no need to charge 350 dollars to fix a basic problem like this. So when you scare the public with high prices naturally they are going to try another option. “I will have a look this weekend dear and have a go at fixing it myself” attitude.

i have just had a leak from exactly the same location with the same dishwasher. The bolts were tight but in my case I found the interface between the sump gasket and dishwasher tub had an accumulation of lime scale which affected the sealing capability, (dishwasher is over 10 years old)
Cleaned the aluminum tub interface and rubber gasket and now it appears to be leak free
Now to my point, if there has been a leak at that interface there is a genuine possibility that there has been some accumulation of lime scale or other material which will compromise the seal integrity. If you didn’t clean both sides of the interface (rubber gasket and Al tub), the leak may reappear at sometime in the future.
Just something to be aware of

Thank you for the video. I purchased a second hand machine. I was told worked perfectly. However, it was stored in an unheated garage. When I got it home I discovered the seller never emptied the sump and it was frozen solid. I thawed it out and ran some short cycles without any errors. I then ran a full loaded cycle, which after about 90 minutes resulted in the E15 error. I monitored a half load cycle and noticed seepage at that gasket. I tightened those screws, I'm hoping that resolves it for a couple of years.
Question: Would it be advisable to apply a silicone lubricant such as "ATP Automotive AT-205 Re-Seal" to keep the seal pliable?

Hi, question: I had water spill from the sink next to the dishwasher and get into the lower pan, and set off the e:15 code - presumably all that needs to be done is drain the water out - but is there any right way to do that? Do the front cover and kick plate need to be removed and some kind of suction applied to pull the water out? Pulling the whole machine and tilting it sounds messy and difficult; is there any easier way to remove water from the bottom pan? Thanks!

You can remove the front panels to access the lower cabinet without moving the unit. That's what I did. Once that compartment is open you can soak up the water in there with a sponge or rag.

Lets see . I have less then year old serie 4 dishwasher, and just made the same thing. Have to dry the leaks and see where it comes. Hopefully same issue.

Must say that Bosch has spend few hours to think how it can made a machine as hard to service as possible... But runs empty now , and wont leak sofar. I tightened same screws like u did , but those weren't very loose. And since those are in plastic , I didn't dare to over tighten.

Question: What can I use to tighten the screws without breaking them? Did you use a special type of screw driver to tighten them? I’d really appreciate any help you have. Thank you so much for posting this video.

    • @tomnapoli
      @tomnapoli  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Nothing special needed though I would tighten them by hand to avoid stripping them. Good luck.
