I wouldn't compare to european or CAN, or US. Russian wages are quite low, and those things are quite costly in my opinion, especially those on pensions which are very low; unless your one those younger russian liberals that had more of the wealth in the major cities.
3oz pre cooked bacon which I like and its about 11 slices, is 4$ here; 3$ gal milk.

This is like compacted Sam's Club or Costco (stores where you buy in bulk and the bigger size you buy the more you save per lb/kg). It's especially good deal for large families or farmers who usually do large shopping trips since they often live like 2 hours drive or so from the nearest supermarket and therefore drive to the store only once or twice a month.

It was indeed fun. But: Aldi's, Costco, Sam's Club, BJ's, Oli's, Sav-a-lot, plus a number of local discount warehouse stores and "dollar store" chains that absolutely leave stuff in shipping boxes. Who says we don't have them? Maybe you live in a "store desert"? 😊 Anyway, Russian wages are much lower. Their groceries actually cost about the same as ours, relatively speaking, in a lot of areas.

We have a few cheap shops in my area but the prices are not as cheap as those for you and Alex. With lower overhead cost such shops can pass on the lower prices to the customers, unfortunately American companies are greedy and therefore we don't get such huge savings. I'm agreeing with Alex on the ice cream, if you love it then stock up on it and enjoy it more because it is cheaper. lol! Thank you for taking us along shopping, that was fun to see Alex not grumpy and enjoying himself. I always look forward to going to Globus with you two!! Hopefully soon we will go.
