    When I do the tug I always raise the trailer first. So when I come to do the legs its easy. It can bend the legs if you don't.

    This is very handy. I'll be doing my Class 1 soon and it's handy to have some knowledge before hand so you've got some idea what to do.
    Will you do a trailer disconnect one day? That would be excellent.

    i remember the old trailers with rachet handbrakes. you had use a wheel chock just in case the wire broke !!!

    My routine is a bit different as it leads me back to the cab; plate, hoses, curtains and kpin, then cab. But if you drive a fridge, or a car transporter it will be different.

    I did my class one test yesterday and the only thing I failed on was I forgot to put the legs down lol

      Blank! But I know drivers that have been driving longer than I've been alive that have ripped off air lines and dropped trailers on the fifth wheel. It happens, don't let it be you :)

    I anit been doing artics for long but did you or do you drop the air out of the unit before going under the trailer?

      drop ure air and slide under otherwise you smash ure mudgaurds to bits, or cover them in grease

    Don't you use the trailer brake there? Places I've worked at ram it down you to check trailer brake!

      I work on a Ro Ro terminal. We don't use trailer brakes.

      So do we but its the way its done when dealing with ferry trailers. Did a trailer change at P&G Manchester, had to ask if they used trailer brakes. Got some weird looks.
