30 to 40 Years ago, some of the hotels in Japan were having the electronically controlled refrigerator,
if you accidentally moved some drinks, the billing system will put the drinks amount into your room
bill. Seems like it's not so popular these days as I see more hotels were leaving the fridge empty.

Yes, there was a refrigerator that automatically counted drinks.
It's so nostalgic.
An empty refrigerator is quite useful because you can easily store purchased drinks and refrigerated foods in it.
