In this video Tommy covers the "mini" version of the Drunk & Disorderly, however the fundamental design principals and materials are the same for the D&D (double) and Triple-D. This isnt a Tommy Lynch pattern. We were buying D & D's at Eds sport shop (just down the street in Baldwin MI) back in the late 80s. Boom. Everything old is new again. Just put some cartoons and rap music to it and its NEW !!! (whatever)
Now I'm super stoked to actually start stacking deer hair. Prior to this design I wasn't really into taking the time and the effort to get serious about it. The action on this hunter has to be ridiculous! This is without a doubt a revolutionary tie!!

Use a leader with tiny barrel swivel, no spin. Crazy action on this fly, depending on how you retrieve.
very cool. love the tiger style. now being a fly tyer with long nails is cool! got to have long nails to pinch down all the materials. this is a very Innovative video... Simply awesome

I seem to have problems with this fly spinning during the retrieve.. The deer hair head is packed fairly tight and as far as i can tell is shaped correctly and dead center
+Troutstodon are you using a sinking line?
+Megan Faux for sure... 250gr outbound short.. i think the problem i was having was either too much deer hair packed too tight and/or too wide of a head
Have you guys ever swung these for ocean run fish?
I wish that I could show this to students in our fly tying program. This looks great, however the “F” bombs in the audio are a problem. Please consider this on future videos. Thank you.
