Hello and thanks for this video. I want to know if with this setting i can use the CV tools or another MIDI device like LFO, ARPEGGIATOR or why not plug-in ?
Thank you
Hi there, CV tools can only route to outputs of an audio interface, so there's no mapping available to route CV tools to the APC64.
However, you can still use LFOs and Arpeggiators and have the APC convert the MIDI information to CV.
For LFOs you'll need to map the LFO to a Max for Live MIDI CC device (there are lots of free ones available 'CCMapper' is good), For an arpeggiator there's no extra steps, simply set the APC64's CV output to a 'note' track and the relevant midi channel.
Hope that helps :)
Ok, the APC 64 can just convert MIDI CC to his CV output. That signifie that LFO MIDI device are not MIDI CC.
Thank you for the quick and precise answer
Very cool, but I despise those teeny tiny LCD screens. I can't read that sh*t. Fine resolution doesn't make up for text that is 2mm high.
Wow, this thing is surprisingly affordable
yes it's amazing value, huge feature set!
Great video man! I'm assuming your midi was via USB? I'm struggling to set up more than 1 unit at a time (say I want to control 3 desktop synths) now I know I can set up more than 1 midi channel I don't know how to sequence them all on separate tracks without midi. Unless I've completely misunderstood and this more of a converter. I have the sq64 and and behriner swing as well. Obvious it leaves a bigger footprint than having 1 unit do it all.
Yes it's absolutely possible, the APC has 2 midi outputs, so you can connect those directly to two of the synths, and hopefully you've got one with a Midi thru port so you can daisy chain them together to get all 3 going. Then it's just a matter of setting up 3 different tracks in Ableton sending data to different midi channels, and changing settings on your synths to receive data on those channels. Hopefully that makes sense 😄
@StoreDJ_online I'm such an idiot ha I guess I should've mentioned my problem isn't with midi its setting up the cv channels to sequnce more than one synth at a time. I guess. My question is really can you control multiple cv devices without midi or is midi necessary?
Awesome!
