    BEST Miniature Balsa Wood Boat Carving Time-Lapse & Sculpey Ocean - Build a DIY wooden toy boat like mine. I create a miniature carved Ship of a balsa wood boat, a 2inch Long Galleon on Ocean in time-lapse on a Sculpey clay ocean. This boat was Created (carved & sculpted) from Balsa Wood and clay. I use to carve and sculpt tiny ships out of balsa wood many years ago. I also have wooden boats for sale and wooden boat plans so you can build your own boat, should you want to make them this small. Just contact me. For this Christmas, I made one for Dee's dad in thanks for all he has helped me with this past year. I make them from memory, with no plans, no photos, so they are by no means correct in detail.
    I put a link in for the small balsa packs that I typically buy to create these models, plus another link for some excellent knives to sculpt and carve with.
    The Galleon (boat) is placed on the ocean scene I create from Sculpey clay I got from Wayne, NJ Hobby Model Shop on Rt 23.
    Watch me make an 8 feet long, 32inch wide, 1 man electric boat! I will be giving away this boat to one of my subscribers in August 2017. Based on a Chris Craft design. • How to Build a Small W...
    The music runs out after 7 mins sorry.
    Hope you enjoyed the video!
    If you would like your own miniature Galleon, contact me and let's chat.

    Just came across this video, Jan. 22nd, 2020, and wanted to say thank you for sharing your artistry and fine craftsmanship.
    Excellent workmanship and impressed, and I've been building models since 1954, with my first model being a Guillows P-40.
    This is definitely something you can display with pride or give it to some very lucky freind who will treasure it and hopefully either way it will be passed on to a family member to also appreciate.
    I got interested in ships in bottles and have been collecting bottles which I can put one into.
    Now if I can just figger out how to do it correctly - like maybe a smaller hammer (?).

    I have had a love affair with making miniature Victorian Gazebos and detailed scrollwork making Hindu and Chinese Temples and Gateways....I am not surprised to see that you use many common useful household items to achieve what you are after...I use sharp nail clippers to cut my thin wood cleanly, and quality name brand emery boards to file hard spots.I cut them to whatever side lengthwise I need and sometime peel the sand paper or from the board and wrap around whatever size toothpick etc works.I dream of a Dremel tool!My next future build may be an ancient Roman Villa with central courtyard or maybe a Roman Temple or Oracle Temple...with lovely columns.I would like to build the Palace off Knossos , or Pompeii Village scene or an intricate Victorian Greenhouse/ conservatory to scale but of a size big enough to play around inside with all the plants I'd like to make to fill it with of clay....I love your gallon and I am on this "bent" right now and totally see a kindred spirit here! I might use "bugle (tube shaped ) beads sticking out of my cannon ports ..I think they may look more like cannons....I have a perfect bottle to put mine inside of too for my grandson....Great work and my head is filling with ideas thanks to you! I may just carve a female figure for the bow as well!

    • @artisticbrit
      @artisticbrit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crazy Bella Kim brilliant. Thank you. Yes, part of the fun is seeing what we can use for parts of the model. You never look at the world the same again, as you always see other uses for the everyday items. I almost made a figurehead for the ship. Maybe on my next one. I’ve always had a fascination with galleons, castles and tanks, old castle doors 🚪 etc.

      When you turn the sails for running those boats list a little. I made modern sail boats too both monohull and catamaran. I use to sail them over there in Seattle, Washington at the Wooden Boat Museum's. Pond yacht sailing pool. I also made ppaper tape and cardboard America's Cup Wing sail catamarans. My biggest one had a 3 foot tall mast.
