  • In this video, we will experiment with naturally dying wool. I will use Red Cabbage, Yellow Onions, Concord Grape Juice and fresh Avocados. There were some unexpected results. See the difference between mordanted and natural dyes.

They’re all so pretty! With and without the mordant. So cool

Wow! That was amazing to watch & see the different colours 😍 I get headaches/migraines from chemical smells so this would be a great alternative that I did not know about until now by watching your video!
Thank you so much for demonstrating this ❤❤❤

There is still sometimes a smell, for example, my house often smells like cabbage, or spinach :) But they are so much more tolerable than the chemicals! I usually wear a mask when working with the Commercial Dyes. They're not necessarily poison, but you should never breathe in particles if you can help it!!

Such beautiful colours my absolute faves are the warmer tones though the oranges, creamy ones and tan colours :) I wanna try onion skins and avocados as dyes haha not quite sure if it'll work on plant based fibers though, bamboo and banana fiber. Do you think it will work?
Did you use yellow onion skins or red ones? :)
