Have you tried 4 brakes on and setting the dial down to 2? I read on a fishing forum that the vbs brakes were designed to work with them all on. I didn’t believe it until I tried it and I can tell you it makes a HUGE difference. I like you used 2 on 2 off. 2 2020 Mets, 2 Chronarchs and 1 Bantam of mine all have 4 brakes on and dials set at 1 to 2 and the cast control brake set to barely allow side to side play. Keep the vbs drum oiled & all of my Shimanos bomb baits into low earth orbit. Cheers. Great channel!
Ok , I get it with the brake tabs but what about the dial ,, I just bought one and mine doesn’t have numbers on the dial ,, so is it factory set or what’s the deal with that.?
The dial is an external brake adjustment so you can make adjustments quicker without opening the side plate. Im not sure it is factory set, but fish it and play around with the numbers depending on the bait you are fishing. A good starting point on the side dial is to start in the middle make small adjustments and go from there.
@@ponyboy2195 Exactly the same lol. I just got the Shimano Sustain the new one. Very nice reel. All of my other spinning reels are stradics. You really cant go wrong with Shimano. As far as bait casters I have anything from Antares DC down to the SLX DC.
Dude I have 2 chronarch 2 matainium mgl,s and the new matanium mgl b there all really good the chronarch,s cast light lure really good also skipping ain’t nothing but a thing with them also!!!

Awesome channel! What rod mounts are those is the background? My wife is tired of my poles in every corner of the house, haha.

I haven't tried all 4 brakes on. I usually just fish with 2 on and 2 off. Thanks for the tip and the info, I will give it a shot. Thanks!
@@Outdoord This is interesting. Have you ever tried this out and if so, how’d it go?

Up to this day how are they holding up. Like are they still smooth
Good as new!
Thanks man going to store to buy right now lol
Thats awesome! Let me know how you like it!
What’s the difference between the MGL and G??
The MGL spool is lighter. Should help throwing lighter baits as far as casting. Pretty sure the G is made for saltwater while the MGL is not.
Outdoor'd thanks.
@@jerbynmoua454 No problem!
I just bought the g this week and it is for saltwater. Only difference is they got different spools. Super light!!
Luis -N- Ceci thanks.
Good stuff bro.....
