  • Hi Guys,
I am Sangna, a Delhi girl in Kanedaa 😍 (Canada). Came here as a Permanent Resident .
Freelance make-up artist by profession and a full-time Drama Queen.
Here to share my stories & experiences as a new immigrant to Canada and the beautiful world which surrounds me. I and me are always too deep in conversation. Let's make it a good one! ♥️🤗
This video is about Important things to know before signing a House Lease in Toronto, Canada .
I and my husband came to Canada as a Permanent Resident in March 2022 . We booked a Hotel for our initial 15 days of our stay in Toronto and simultaneously we started our search of a rented House ( Condo ,Apartment ,Basement ).
Once we finalized our Condo we had to sign the Lease Agreement in Canada ,which we had no Knowledge and information about.
So guys this video is all about the Mistakes to avoid before signing a house lease and the must know things when you are about to sign the house lease agreement.
There are other details that will vary depending on the province you live in, the length of your lease and a few other factors. Here are some general things to be aware of:
    1) Security Deposit
    2) Responsibility of Utilities -Utilities refer to water, electricity, gas, heating and internet. The lease should state which (if any) utilities are included in the price of rent, or if they are the tenant’s responsibility.
    3) Read the fine print: Make sure you read the lease carefully. Use the list above as a checklist, and go over every word. If you have questions, ask the landlord. Any good landlord should be willing to take the time to go over the lease with you. Like any other contract, a lease is negotiable. You can ask for things to be added or taken out.
    4) Ask about redecorating
When you move in, you will want to make the apartment your own. If you would like to paint, make sure you discuss it with your landlord. Some landlords will reimburse you for the cost of the paint. Others will require you paint it back to the original colour when you move out.
    5) Discuss rules around visitors and guests
In Canada, it is illegal to ban overnight guests. However, if your guests are loud, disruptive or cause damage, you will be held responsible. Chat with your landlord about expectations around noise levels, especially if you plan on having friends over often.
So this video is for all the New Immigrants and the International students in Canada. Pls do watch the video till the end.

After signing a one-year lease, can we leave after the first month because the owner comes without notice, and it feels like a jail with no mercy? We can only use the stairs to the backyard and cannot stand in the backyard itself. In the lease, they mentioned no visitors allowed, so if a friend wants to meet, they should go outside the house and not enter. It's so depressing, which is why we want to terminate the lease.

Leaving a lease can be difficult, I am sorry to hear that you are in a tough situation however, as a tenant you have lot of rights, owner can no way restrict visitors. You can reach out to Tenant and Landlord Board and understand more about it

Mam , my landlord is asking for half of the payment for one month rent in Toronto near Niagara College, Im currently in india ..she asked to pay via PayPal... What should i do ? Is this a scam or something

I would suggest not to transfer money till the time you have seen and met the person or if you know someone here can send him to visit the place. I have seen so many people getting scammed when place looks amazing in pictures but it is terrible in real. It is always suggested to book a Airbnb may be for initial 5-6 days.

Hello Mam does signing lease have any impact on applying PR ?

      @SangzStories  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

No, it doesn’t have any impact, but just be sure about what you are signing.

@@SangzStories by impact I meant I heard some people say that sometimes the Visa Officers ask my residential status from the day of entering Canada to the time I’m applying for Pr , They said they ask for the Rental Agreement/ Receipts from those periods ? Is it true

They way u pronounce "Canadian" is so odd. I've noticed it quite a few times. It's Canadian not "Canaedian". Sounds funny.
