The subtle shift from "bring me a dream" to "bring us a dream" is so cool. At first it's just the lead singer. Then you can hear a slight voice in the background. Then its "us" with two loud voices.. Then finally just "me", but they're distorted. It tell such an interesting story, like theyre begging not to be alone because someone evil is with them

That might be what's called derealization where you dissociate meaning you do not feel real and your emotions are numbed because of this, these happen to me quite often and are horrible but they do go and it takes certain periods of time that vary with the person and there mental state but what you described sounds similar to derealization/dissociation and I hope it goes soon if it is because it is horrible and I can sympathize

There was an excellent book I'd read years ago that ended with the main character floating away in an escape pod after saving the world from an asteroid. The book ended with him dying while listening to his favorite song on repeat. This is the type of song I'd imagine he would listen to as he floated away to the emptiness of space.

Being that I am almost 33 years old, and my mother being a baby boomer from the late 40's, I was raised on the 1958 version of this song by the Chordettes. I honestly have not heard a cover of this song before, but I am truly impressed with this remake. I would love to hear you all make a version of Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers, Love Potion #9 by the Searchers, or Smoke Gets in Your Eyes by the Platters. Personally, this song radiates a feeling of hopelessness and coldness.
I feel like this is the true tone of the song, but the original makers didn't make it sad because it wouldn't have been as popular in it's time.

The girl is in love with a man. He always there on the darkest nights, at the bar with his dark brown eyes, with a shade of red in them. He always managed to blend into the black walls of the bar in his dark clothes.
As creepy as his ghost like appearance was, the girl always had a peculiar sense of love for this man. She always went to the bar, mostly on rainy nights, since that's when they both smile and drank together. The girl felt like she could relate with the man, and so did the man felt as well. The girl was always lost in the dark nights, her past of many break-ups and crushed hearts consumed her and her appearance. The man could relate, as he was consumed with the darkness of a dysfunctional self esteem, a sense of not fitting in, and no love. As they talked about the creatures they depended on throughout the night, they drank, their years of stress, sadness, and hopelessness gone for the moment. They both soon kiss, as the bar is about to close, and it being too dark for anyone to see them.
As the girl left a tip, the man looked at her back, smiling as he never had before, and so for the girl as her bright white teeth gloom through the rainy night. Having someone to relate to in a way felt good to the girl as she walked down the crooked alley, the creature she usually sees at nights gone.
She was believed she was finally happy, but only one thing remained on her mind.
The mans his name was Mr. Sandman. The same name of the creature she sees every night...
(I know this story doesn't work entirely for the song. I was just in the mood while listening to this song to write this lol.)

@@CytotoxinK theres a book about something kind of like that, the people in the book don't see color and don't know anything about earth. every year one of them gets picked to get the knowledge of the person who was picked the past year, that person get to realize what hot and cold are, they get to see colors, they get to see all of this stuff so much that it becomes a burden. the kid gets the knowledge at such a young age that he runs away to discover the rest of earth or something (srry i read this book like 2 years ago and it was pretty short) and ends up dying in the cold. its probably the best book ive read
