The Big Boy makes Flying Scotsman look like a narrow gauge engine
I know, that's the thing with the model railways so the Oo gauge and the Ho gaugeare the same size it's just the Oo is the UK and ho is America but the only difference between the trains for each one is that on the Oo/UK track the trains are actually to scale of their real life counterparts whereas the ho/USA trains aren't and that's why their large in model form than the Oo train
the reason why the Big Boy started so quickly is because those things were built with the torque to handle mile long freight trains.
Big Boy is like a truck and Flying Scotsman is like a sports car with a slow start
True
A Bugatti vayron has a slow start so flying scotsman is like a bugatti
Well your like SHIT big boy is a AWSOME train XD
Toby-king24 no it doesn’t, it’s one of the fastest accelerating cars...
Teah
THE UNION PACIFC BIG BOY IS BETTER THIN ANY ENGINE IN THE WORLD SO I WONT A REMATCH.
Britain is great and America is also great I'm from America!!!!!!!! God bless America yo!!!!!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧
Yay🙂🙂
I from Britain
Oh so no god bless for Britain? Alr thanks kid 💀 I’m offended
@@shadowmoth9158 this was five years ago calm down
I wanna see a race between the flying Scotsman vs the union pacific FEF-3. That seems a bit more fair than the big boy vs scotsman
Yeah
Or a G5s
4:26 I already knew that was going to happen:)
An express engine vs an goods engine? I have no idea
Midland Compound 1000 same
Same
Yeah it's like apple's and oranges
Let's have a strength test next.
Midland Compound 1000 I agree, since Flying Scotsman was built to go fast, I think the Big Boy has an unfair disadvantage and also note I'm just starting to watch this
A little knowledge about the big boy is, they were used for fast freight trains, note that a single one of these giants can pull a freight train (5 MILES LONG) on level track.
The longest train was less than 5 miles long
The reason the Big Boy is bigger than any other American freight locomotive is that, not only was it built to pull long freight trains, it is was also built to go up a serious hill, Sherman Hill.
Big boy was used in ww2 to hall freight and u.s. troops.
@@Longhaul1764 mostly just freight
@@Longhaul1764 4014 is a war hero
You should do Flying Scotsman vs the Union Pacific 844.
844 the power house
844 the blow up
Julien Brousseau if it stimulates to much damage
UP 4021 is the most. beautiful train I've ever seen. It can pull more cars than 5 diesel engines could
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think I know why Big Boy gets a good start: Big Boy has four pistons driving two pairs of small wheels
Flying scotsman looks tiny
That's because big boy is huge thats why scotsman looks small
I'm not surprised at all by these results. Not only is Scotsman lighter, but he's also got slightly bigger drive wheels.
Daylight vs Coronation class!
Good idea

It's pretty funny that the Big Boy was in the lead in the 1st place until halfway through the race. Because the world's largest steam locomotive isn't supposed to be going faster than a passenger locomotive. It's crazy that a monster like this took the lead until halfway through. Because the Big Boy is the largest, heaviest, and most powerful steam locomotive ever built.
It was ahead because it has better tractive power due to increased weight and driving wheels. Scotsman was always gonna win
well bigboy has smaller wheels for more torque so it would start off faster, but Flying Scotsman has larger wheels for speed.
well big boy was built for heavy freight trains, not speed
I wonder how Gordon will react if he ever meets Big boy?😁
Any train export will tell y’all that big boy’s are for power while A3’s (like Flying Scotsman) are food speed. I love both of them!
My favorite steam train is none other than the Class A1 Mallard.
A4*
I definitely love the flying scotsman i want to drive it when i,m older
Joshua Michael dumbass fuckboy
epic tri bros piss of he can do what he wants.
Your mum is dull and ugly and looks like you

Actually, Scottsman is the first engine to hit 100 while pulling a train. The City of Turo was the first to go 100 without a train
It was carrying mail wasn't iy
Wouldn't it be 'Walking Scotsman'?
Make a strenght teast ok I was thinking strength test
Soooooòo
Do Flyinng Scotsman vs Mallard
You need to do Union Pacific 844 vs The Flying Scotsman. This way you program the locos makes it a fair race. So I would like to see an American Passenger vs English Passenger.
Fact: Big Boy can pull up to 3,600 tons and Flying Scotsman can pull well around probs 956-1440
That Big Boy train has just been restored in real life: th-cam.com/video/RR7Q27cIEvo/w-d-xo.html
I like how this video shows the difference of what the UK built their trains for and what the US built their trains for. America built trains for freight primarily, and the UK built trains for passengers mostly. So the flying Scotsman would beat the big boy in speed, but the big boy would beat any steam loco in terms of strength and power.
Very interesting choice for a race. You always surprise me Lazer.
Big boy be like : vtec kicked in yooo
Flying Scotsman: wait for 2jz
You are literally racing my too favorite steam locos. How dare you.
Personal preference is the big boy as it could pull up to 3,600 tons in its prime
Think he shouldn't of used the big boy, I think he should of used Daylight.
how about the union pacific 844?
Daylight is actually faster by a few miles!
Soooo RIP Scotty!
UNFAIR RACE big boy has a top speed of 80mph and the flying Scotsman has a top speed of over 100
trains rule But the big boy has a much faster launch speed
Laserjet I think that the Flying Scotsman is going to win the race.
Can you do Union Pacific 844 vs Flying Scotman
FlyingScotsman Can go faster Then big boy the train
big boy it played a big part in ww2
I know Flying Scotsman had won the race.
I'm an American but I want Flying Scotsman to win
who would win
Flying scotsman vs. 🅱ig 🅱oi
Let do a race about new big boy vs flying scoutmen
UP All the way
You should’ve added loads on them. That’d be interesting!
For future races you could add a third line and drive the mallard or something on that line so you can keep up
British for speed and design
America for power and strength
BnsfRail4736
Even though most American steam loco's are faster than all British ones.
The Red Wolf, no they aren't please shut up, you weren't there, you have no proof, end off go away
diamondminerHD RPG GAMER
Lol yes they are. A UP FEF-3 can go 120mph on LEVEL track, where a Mallard had to go down a hill to get to 126 because it's maximum speed on level track is only 90mph. There's plenty of proof that american steam locomotives are faster than british ones. You saying that I have no proof of such things is you being comepletely ignorant. Why are American steam locomotives faster than british ones? Well, american steam locomotives are much much larger, which allows for a much larger boiler, and a much larger boiler allows for brutal amounts of power, and brutal amounts of power allows for fast speeds. UP FEF-3's also have 80 inch drive wheels, which are designed for speed. The Union Pacific themselves have estimated 844's top speed to be above 130mph. And sometime in the 1940's, the PRR S1 ran 134mph. Every single American steam locomotive that was intended for fast passenger service did 100mph or greater on average. The reason you see an american steam locomotive do no greater than 80mph today is because railroads don't allow them to go above that speed for safety reasons. An NYC Hudson did greater than 110mph on passenger services regularly. Anyone that says American steam locomotives are slow is ignorant, just like you. Also, there is an organization that is currently building a T1 Duplex called the "T1 Trust". They are building a PRR T1 Duplex and they want to do passenger excursions with it when fully built in a few years from now. But they won't do just that, they are also going to attempt to break the world speed record for steam locomotives. The PRR T1's all used 80 inch drivers, but they weren't regular drivers, they were what were known as "boxpok" drivers. Boxpok drive wheels are designed for speed. Another thing that PRR T1's used were poppet valve gear, instead of baker or walschearts. The poppet valve gear allowed for much greater speeds than the regular baker or walschearts valve gears. And not only that, but the T1's also used roller bearings, which just allowed for even more speed. Also, once the organization finishes building the new T1, the speed they will aim for to set the new record will be 140mph or greater.
140mph is not possible, end of, stop chasing evidence that isn't there...
diamondminerHD RPG GAMER
140mph is entirely possible. Also, in a Fort-Wayne Chicago run, the PRR S1 exceeded 156mph, for which the railroad company recieved a fine for doing so. Other railroad officials at the time recorded speeds greater than 140mph. In another run the S1 did in 1945, railroad officials recorded a speed of 141mph. And what do you mean "evidence that isn't there"? Lol, did you not read when I said that the locomotives I listed used roller bearings, 80 inch boxpok drivers, and poppet valves? Those three things were specifically designed to increase the speed of a steam locomotive.
BIG BOY is built for fast freights
My 2 favorite engines racing lets goooooo
Try Big Boy pulling a 3 mile train to see if it can pull that much cars with out struggling.
It can but you need to put the Sanders on the whole ride or you get major wheel slip I made a big boy at 3 miles long and one at 5.
It's not like it struggles but Sanders just help you
Two different locomotives designed for two different things.
One that is large and strong, and one that is small and fast.
I'm an American and I know the flying scotman won I think the big boy is better because it can pull up to a mile and a half on flat land or maybe it's two miles of train cars and if you ask me I think that's a lot of weight just imagine how much horsepower and torque the big boy makes🚂🚂🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷
Is anybody with me
I am 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Robert Williams same
So there should be a strength test.
Im looking at you big boy
Robert Williams It puts out 6300 horsepower and around 131,000 lbs of tractive effort.
Let's go America big boy has got this
Team *A M E R I C A*
yes
The fin English gentleman in his fine apple green suit.
Versus.
The strong American burger eating mine worker in his work clothes.
I don't know, I always pictured the big boy as a steak man. :)
The big boy has a huge amount of tourqe. Scotsman doesnt have NEARLY as much. Thats why the big boy ran away at the start
basically gas vs diesel
The big boy is not huge. ☹️ it's a HULKING GIANT!!! 😳
American trains are like %95 freight trains
Its actually nice that now he shows us the programming since 5 years ago he always did it off camera which is very suspicious
I never raced anyone before
Pls do big boy vs daylight
Do you hauling challenge between them
I say flying scotsman
Flying scotsman
Flying Scotsman is 💯 %better dah
duh indeed and it's not D. A. H it's D. U. H
U should race Thomas version vs real life version of Stepney, race Percy vs Gwr no. 1340 "Trojan", Edward vs Furness Railway K2 Henry (with square firebox) vs black 5 and James vs L&YR class 28 if u download Gordon then obviously have him and Scotty have a rematch for neither wining the Great Race at the Great Railway Show
Big doy
You should do strength compatitions
EXACTLY. Speed isn't everything.
Do awvr 777 vs any of your country train with 2 loos and 39 cars
Big Boy wasn't made for speed along straight aways. Big Boy was designed for power. Hauling heavy loads across the Rockies.
Hi lazer
this race was nor fair a freight engine vs passenger meant for speed thumbs down
Dude calm down jeez its just for entertainment like the flying scotsman won and lets leave it at that
i'm just saying it is not fair thats all i like the fly Scotchman a little bit
3:18 two driving wheel bogie power.
Please try making them race by pulling 5 passenger cars each! That will be AWESOME.
They were both great
I challenge you to do that race again.. this time with 150 rock hopper cars filled/loaded AND through the rocky mountains.... My bet? The wheels on the Scotman will fall off... LOL
UP RULES
Its 844
big boy
Flying Scotsman vs City of Truro.
the flying scotsman looks so tiny compared to the union pacific
Yes
CAN YOU PLEASE DO NEXT HIGHLINE VS QUADSIZE BOTH ARE D-26 TENDER STREAMLINED STEAM LOCOMOTIVES
Could you do James vs Edward or Gordon vs Henry or thomas vs percy or Stephenson rocket vs Thomas
Can you do the runaway train gp 40-2, F7A, AND 2 GP7'S in speed test
Wow, Big Boy is one *THICC* engine
big boy vs daylight pls pls pls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I knew it
British locos accelerate much slower.
Plus big boy is a freight loco
Do the14xx vs fiying Scotsman
👍👇👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Just as this happened in your Acela vs. TGV race, our trains were built for power (In this case for the Big Boy) and for speed with the Acela, but not to a degree of most European high speed trains.
Flying scootman
Try the next race be mallard vs up 844
Big boy is still better because it's much stronger and can pull much heavier loads
I only recently got an interest in British trains and I have to agree that the Flying Scotsman is a beautiful engine.
I’m also from America but I’m going for the flying Scotsmen
Too
Big boy was in the lead because you put it in front of Flying Scotsman so basically it wasn't fair.
Next time, do either Scotsman vs Daylight or Scotsman vs Union Pacific FEF-3. But legit, no limiting a loco's speed.

Hi Lisa I hope you’re doing good today I hope you’re doing better I love this morning princess and I hope you’re doing better you are ok I love 💖 I am I just got
