Could look at it this way. As ‘Special Order 937’ stated: "Priority one - Ensure return of organism for analysis. All other considerations secondary. Crew expendable." Ash could have concluded that the optimal way to ensure the organism was delivered was only if a crew member was unaware they had the organism with them on the shuttle. The crew expendable part also meant Ash was expendable too. Ash uploading his memory or instructions on the Narcissus would ensure the organism was delivered even after he was ‘ended’. Ash knew it the signal was a warning, didn’t tell anyone. Ash knew it was a ‘parasite’ and broke quarantine anyway. Ash knew Kane had something in him, didn’t tell anyone possibly trying to get Kane into hypersleep as that could ‘ensure’ delivery without everyone knowing. Ash was pretty much ahead of everyone all the time. 🤷♂️
I remember when I played Alien Isolation, I thought that the story was strong enough to be made into a movie and bridge the gap between Alien and Aliens.
It's a viable theory that the entire Mineral Ore mission was a decoy from the company to send unarmed people to LV-426 Derelict - something they were *already aware of* .. The Nostromo Crew were expendable, hence collateral, and because Ash was destroyed, The Company *begrudged* Ripley, found the Narcissus during the Romulus era, and left her in stasis until further notice.. where the next generation at Weyland Utani decided to release her, unbeknown to motives of their predecessors.
ALIEN : OUT OF THE SHADOWS is canon and explains everything about the narcissus and why Ripley was in Hypersleep for 57 years. Either read the book or listen to the epic audiodrama (not the one with the automated voice, the audiodrama has voice actors for each character including Rutger Hauer) if you're an alien franchise fan You will love it as it's also set between ALIEN and ALIENS. In fact I dare say this it is a direct prequel/sequel to ALIEN. You're welcome xoxo
Interesting story but way too much of a stretch to be canon and overcomplicates things between Alien and Aliens unnecessarily. Romulus will probably retcon it anyway. That's why novels often aren't and shouldn't be considered canon.
I don't think it’s the Narcissus? I think the Romulus has the same type of escape ship on the older side of the station and uses it to escape the crashing station. That’s my theory
My problem with the story between Alien, Alien: Romulus and Aliens is as follows. If the company found the Narcissus escape pod from the Nostromo and used it to track down the xenomorph, how is it possible that they didn't go straight to LV426 to get samples of the original? And how is it possible that they sent colonizers to LV426, but until Narcissus was captured again, no one from the company knew what was hiding on LV426. Because Burke sent people to verify Ripley's information.
Man, I hate how everything HAS to be connected to Ripley. The universe is HUGE, suits in Hollywood just keep trying to repeat what worked without realizing people are getting tired
I 100% agree. That’s why I was so glad Blomkemps Alien 5 was canceled because once again Ripley was the focus. However, Romulus isn’t connected to _Ripley_ per se, just the first movie, which is fine with me.
@@nightshadeii9248 I was OK with that connection. But we needed 15 minutes of youth hell on shit planet of Elon Musk to make us care about the characters. We didn’t get it.
If the continuity of Alien is really going to be respected then we won't see the Narcissus at all because there's no need. Far as W/Y was concerned the crew perished along with the ship, but they would still come looking in the Nostromo's last known location, just in case there was 'something". So maybe it wasn't so much blind luck after all, when they do come across Big Chap floating in spaces, and as we now know, they had a little help knowing the next step and why David, even though he wont appear in Romulus, is so important to this movie.
Romulus may connect the dots with I & 2 but what that of 3, also it seems from trailer footage that they seem to make connect with the Xenomorphs. We see face-huggers and obviously a similar xenomorph from the first movie. So does that mean the crew somehow kills all the xenomorphs in Romulus giving the reason for Ripley to be sent back to LV426 in Aliens? I like the theory of Ash keeping the company in the loop in the first movie as that would most definitely be a priority for the Synthetic on away missions. We all know the Company values a discovery of a Xenomorph very highly and would stop at nothing to procure a specimen. Also, we do know David from Prom/Cov was also keeping in contact with the company. Personally, I don't buy the hype of Romulus and I'll leave this quote: Ash: I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.
I hope this movie leads directly into Alien: Isolation... In that game, a salvage crew deactivated the derelict crafts' distress beacon, which is why the colonists never knew about it on LV426... The terrain was still 99% uncharted even with the terraforming...
Ripley shows up, in Starlords' get-up, "A lot of things got messed up, and it's spreading. Here, I found a stone of time."" If ya wanna long stretch of what might happen! 🤭 Share insane scenes!
hello my friend I have another little clue that could confirm what you are saying... rewatch the trailer and press pause at the moment when the station crashes you will see the Narcissus in very small form on its right ;)
The only notable plot hole between Alien and Aliens is that - if the company knew enough about the alien on LV426 to send the Nostrum to go and get one - why did it not try again after this effort failed? Aliens starts 57 years later with colonists already on LV426, blissfully unaware of the derelict spaceship with the egg chamber. It's not a priority for me for this plot hole to be fixed, but "Romulus" could do that if the cocoon is truly the "Big Chap" who is used to source genetic code to create eggs. If the company loses the station to the xenos - like it did in "Resurrection" - they may decide to abandon the effort and erase all evidence. But then our "Romulus" protagonists visit the station before it is able to be destroyed....
nope!! A PROTO QUEEN WILL BE SEEN IN romulus. She´s the girl from Covenant. David experimented on her and turned into a f...bitch monster found in the space station Romulus
I am afraid when " they " say that they will respect the original lore ( Terminator serie being an exemple ) . And why this obsession with roman names ? Prometheus, Romulus, it's weird. Not very alien, too historically human. I like the aesthetics though.
Not surprising behavior by the company, they wanted to get rid of Ripley as a witness for the events of Alien that could drag the company WY to court of law on Earth based on the company orders of getting rid of the crew and bring such a creature to Earth
These theories are wild if the same company supposedly tracked and found the life boat why set it back adrift for the possibility of someone else finding it ie a deep salvage op why not just off Ripley rather then waiting another 17 yrs until she became a problem which she did...WY had the resources the system planet and grid co ordinance of the derelict why not jus go to the planet🤔

The Narcissist is a standard emergency escape unit and there is probably many of them on many different ships.
This.
That "blind luck" statement was not only made by Burke, but it was also said in Ripley's dream.
I remember when I played Alien Isolation, I thought that the story was strong enough to be made into a movie and bridge the gap between Alien and Aliens.
Agreed....the story was amazing.
Romulus likely is that story but with no Amanda Ripley, which was a nice idea, but really a stretch.
@@RoaryUK looks like an Alien2 clone, with alien 1 characters

I'm assuming that the kids are the salvage team previously referred to. No break in continuity.

Maybe the Alien has capabilities to hibernate itself into a cocoon. That means the Possibility Alien Queen in Aliens is still alive 🤔
Somehow Xenomorph Palpatine returned.....

Yeah i dont think any one is gonna survive this movie 😂 Easiest way to avoid any lore incontinences.
There's already talk of a sequel behind the scenes before this movies release so someone probably survives.
Or somehow they can survive and they will be killed off during the opening credits of the next movie...hahaha...smh
Yeah they've done that twice now

The company found Ripley, didn’t necessarily mean they woke her up immediately.
