If you do not watch BBC or live TV there is not a problem. I cancelled 5 years ago online and every year I have an email asking if I still do not watch terrestrial TV. I have DVDs, Amazon Prime which has Freevee also, Netflix and watch TH-cam documentaries. However, I read and walk my dog more than watch anything. Definitely do not miss terrestrial TV.

I don't know how people manage not to pay for TV licence .We have had a threatening letter from the BBC. We are in our 80s .I don't watch BBC because of its bias, my husband watches some news and weather and that's it as the programmes we liked to watch are mostly all repeats maybe 4 or 5 times, Flog It for instance. When the BBC began, it had far fewer employees and departments than it has now. They have become bloated with people and services that are available on the free market already. So the BBC need to significantly downsize it's content and workforce to keep within a budget that competitive with the free market, otherwise more people will cancel their TV licence and be happy with the quality content on the free market. I have 2 tvs. I have Netflix around £60 per year for the odd film and cartoons when the kids call. I also have PlayStation & Xbox. I don’t have normal tv so I don’t pay. I watch no live on my tv. I am not breaking the tv laws

Why was there no mention of the fact that you have to have a TV licence in order to watch all the non BBC output?? Have a TV licence by all means, but remove ITV, channel 4, channel 5 etc from the scope of the TV licence. People then choose whether to have a TV licence to watch just BBC programmes. In light of all the controversy with kids over the decades at the BBC, I think they should have little to do with children.

My problem with the BBC is I hate it with every fibre of my being and simply wont watch any of the woke tripe they churn out (which is a shame as it used to be quite good like Top Gear when Clarkson, Hammond and May done it).. however I am forced to pay this corrupt corporation so that I can watch live tv from other broadcasters!

here we go again.... Same argument 4 years ago when Johnson said in his Manifesto he would scrap TV licence .... Don't pay it don't watch live TV and when you change your habits you save roughly £150 a year. Not watch BBC over 10 years nothing I like no movies and no decent comedy don't watch soaps, dramas or any sports' Singing contests dancing in other words nothing that interests me same with ITV (sorry Nigel lol)
I'm not positive on how this works but if you only use your TV for streaming services & stored media, you don't technically have to pay right? If so why would anyone bother???

Oil and Gas are down 6% since then and fortunately House prices are not included. They are down 7.5%.

We don’t want the BBC to continue. It is a woke, leftist organisation and that shows in every programme they create/show. There is no “good quality” British entertainment anymore. They stuff historical dramas with people of colour and members of the LGBTQ+ community - the ‘baddie’ is always the white, male, upper class, stereotype.
The argument “that you can’t do it at the moment” is based on the outdated belief that people want it. The BBC kids programmes are awful and woke as well. They fight against a subscription model as unsustainable for the BBC and at the same time say that the majority want the BBC for its quality - both cannot be true.
