My old band used to cover this song - VERY hard to sing btw! So much fun to play, and even though most of the audience didn't know it, everyone asked who did it, so the song obviously drew some interest. What an awesome lineup here also. Eddie Castillas, Roy Z, Adrian Smith and David Ingraham backing up the mighty BRUCE DICKINSON....fantastic!
Because Maiden are Maiden and would be totally compromised if they tried to do something they are not (like they did with some songs in the early 90s) Awsome song, however!
@chineseafro2000 Halford's lost it too, I saw them live a couple of years back, he had to sing everything at least an octave lower and was still struggling for some songs. As for Brucey however: 53 years old and still going, as awesome a frontman as he ever was!
I just saw Priest a year ago at the Budweiser event center and that wasn't the case then. His voice was a fucking amazing!! Blew me away how good he sounds actually.
It's too modern metal for Maiden, and if they did play it there would be not even half the effect of Roy's guys playing it with Smith and Dickinson. It's essential metal. 🤘

@@martinblackwhite Maiden plays with Humbuckers since ever man comon. Janick has Semoyur Dunkons in his Guitar just looks like singles. You can btw sound proper heavy with just a single coil guitar.

I know I never did the song the right justice, but we LOVED playing it live! We also did "Accident Of Birth", "Taking The Queen", and "Starchildren". We were out to Preach the Gospel according to Bruce! What a genius!
I wish maiden would allow Dickinson to open for them...and even play these tracks with him on a 3 guitar basis. This would make my day. This track with Steve on bass and nicko on drums... man oh man

I think they recorded a couple of gigs. Some songs may not be the same shot as in the cd. There may be some overdubs in the cd as well... By the way, same thing happens with "Live After Death" from Iron Maiden. The video and the cd contain different versions of some tracks, you can notice that quite clearly in "Aces High" for example.
