- For "refusal to answer relevant inquiry" and "acting in a disrespectful manner," the House Committee on Legislative Franchises cited in contempt and placed in detention SMNI host Lorraine Badoy, during its December 5 probe into the alleged misinformation spread by the media network.
The motion to detain Badoy came just hours after her co-host, Jeffrey Celiz, was similarly cited in contempt and placed under House custody for refusing to name his source in accusing Speaker Martin Romualdez of spending P1.8 billion in travel funds in 2023.

Pinakita ng Congress sa kanilang records na ilang millions (around P35 millions lang yata) ang nagastos nila at hindi P1.8 billion. Kung nagkamali ang anchors sa amount ng nagastos, iyon po ay hindi isang serious mistake dahil meron silang freedom to ask questions lalo na sa governance. Dahil ang budget ng Congress para sa 2023 travel allowance ay P2 billion. Kaya PWEDE magtanong ang sinuman kung saan nagastos ang P1.8 billion o ang P2 billion sa budget na iyon. NGAYON dahil sinabi ng Congress na around P35 million lamang ang nagastos sa 2023 travel expenses, BAKIT P1.3 billion ang hinihingi ng Congress para sa next year 2024 travel allowance?

Isn't this atty. Badoy the same dude who accused Baguio City Ben Magalong as an NPA supporter? Those were very serious allegation to think that Magalong is retired high ranking PNP member. If I remember it right, pastor Appolo Quibuloy even issued a public statement apologising to Magalong. I think that apology only indicates that Quibuloy thinks Atty. Badoy's accusation was uncalled for. The thing is, walang matibay na ebedinsya that Magalong is a supporter of NPA.
