A piece of advice for this kind of farming method: - Since most drops comes from the bosses themselves, switching to a secondary job with 400 Thief job affinity, max Luck and Drop Rate on gear, before finishing off the boss (before pressing the prompt to the finishing animation) actually improves your chance of getting rarer drops, and slightly increases the amount of possible drops. As long as you don't need a specific setup on your secondary job, this is an easy and cheap trick. - This is true since version 1.11, as stated in the patch notes.
@@drkmgic yes, it does. At least the 400 thief bonus. Their luck won't be part of the equation, unless they manage to finish enemies for you (not feasible in Bahamut difficulty; they struggle a lot to survive). One thing I never tested is if the bonus stays even if the companions have been KO'd during the stage.
You don’t need anything crazy to do this mission, the boss is very tame and the enemies usually ignore you to fight your allies. Just gonna stay alert and dodge when needed, and melting him should be easy with any old build
@@WeLoveAspect I guess I disagree with that, fully decked 400 gear this boss is kicking my ass in one frail shot. I haven't completed the build of your other video 100%, but tried diferent compositions.... nothing really makes it easy, let alone farmable, you DO REQUIRE the insane build of your other video to make this farm possible.
You DON’T but go off lol. If the missions still hard for you even after making a fairly competent build then Imma be real with you, you’re probably just bad. Learn to dodge attacks I guess?
Did you know this? Treasure Hunter at 400% Thief affinity was changed so that it is easier to get rare equipment even if a CPU ally (like Jed) has 400% Thief affinity and Jack does not. I wonder how pairing that with your Earthquake spam would affect the gear you get? I assume Treasure Hunter applies to boss drops. Master Points no longer affect CPU allies, so dumping Thief points into Luck or Drop Rate would not help, but those effects could still be added to gear and then maxed out through smithy.
Any tips on how to build for the grind without extra mode? What gear can you use to defeat this before the grind? I mean the level 400 gear artifacts are nice, but how to you get them in the first place? For players that struggle with these high difficulty levels? What do you suggest?
Also another good method is the Stymied mission with a ninja with 400% thief affinity and just spam the fire attack for ninja on the Malboro since that doesn't use mp. You can even up the multipliers to rank VI for better chance at chaos gear but accessories rarely drop there tho.
That's good, I farm that one myself a lot but the Malboro doesn't really shower too much loot although yes the Thief strat will make it much more likely too though.
@@WeLoveAspect Honestly when I get the build operational I'll probably switch over to that one and just switch to my ninja for soul burst cause I have over 100 luck with the build as well.
That Thief perk now applies to CPU allies as of the DLC. You could use this build on Jack and have a treasure hunter build on Jed, use smithy to put luck and drop rate on Jed’s gear, and max those effects at smithy as well. Jed won’t benefit from your Thief master points however.
Was looking for something completely unrelated to this, but your video popped up, super interesting and helpful! Pretty quick mission, as advertised. Thanks! While here though, curious if you’ve ever found an accessory with a “Final Moments” special effect on it. And if so, any idea what it does..? I can’t find any info on it.
Yeah that comes on the Bracer accessory, you can only get it from Gilgamesh's bonus challenge in the rift or in the the exchange shop after floor 101+. As for what it does, it just gives you the Assassin 400% ability for free.
Good stuff thanks. I haven’t actually tried that mission yet may give it a go later on breaker. I’m still trying to collect gear for cyclic build missing black mage and red mage affinity 😕
@@WeLoveAspect its only showing "the journey begins" and "azure memories: the believer" on bahamut difficulty. Are there any other prerequisites to unlock it?
I love this game but my god the gearing, affinity, jobs and loot farming has made me lose 90% of my braincells. I'm so lost lmfao. Managed to beat the dlc and get some gear but putting a build together is killing me
This is exactly where I'm at right now. I got shitloads of level 395+ gear and many jobs at level 99, but putting a build together while trying to farm equipment with the right affinities is a fucking puzzle.
@@WeLoveAspect So play through the whole story again or just the one with Rikke? Sorry I'm a bit confused as I have the DLC and have done the conversations with Bahamut
@@terroniragven7809 Then you should have unlocked all the side missions, because you unlock them as you unlock the conversations and complete the main story missions.
I tried this yesterday because I just recently got full 395-400 gear. I used cyclic warrior and I tried my best with picking from my gear stats that had decent affinity But the point of this video is to showcase how to get a ton more. Anyway, I run in, activate ChaosBringer, pop lunatic and lancet, and I get off maybe 3 or 4 earthquakes and Bikke takes like 3% of his break gauge total. Idk what I'm missing? Do job levels make a vast difference? My cyclic is only 30, but my gear average is 396. Idk what would make the most difference in going from taking off 1% of his break gauge per Earthquake to 25% like in your build. Yours were hitting for 19k each, mine hit for like 3k. By the way, I usually die in the first few moments of a run because Bikke attacks me while I'm using Earthquakes. When I'm using them he does his red moves or his stupid somersaults
Yes of course they do, your Cyclic should be level 150, you’re missing out on all of the job mastery upgrades and I’d assume you have no skills or upgrades on your armour either. Also click dodge when he goes to attack you lol
Yeah it does, it removes the ability to get basically any good gear, as that mode is just there to get bad or casual players through the DLC’s story, not for actual proper gameplay

Why are you only level 288? You can just load up a level 4 mission that requires no kills or one that has an easy boss and get free high level gear from something like that.
