the military trains every day and why not train in a busy airspace. I do not agree they should have had 3 aircraft in the same space and at same or similar altitudes but for the military they must operate in such environments. Now with DC area there are so man flight restrictions due to no-fly zones for security reasons that it makes the useable space limited. Hopefully, from such a tragedy will come better rules regarding helos in that space and around all airports to include short final and takeoff sectors. Those should be limited like LAX restricts helo traffic even in police emergencies to set altitudes, so they never have aircraft in the same space at same altitudes.
It was a annual proficiency training flight so a check flight that all pilots go through regardless of how experienced they are not a training flight for new pilots. From what has been said the pilots were highly experienced.🍻🇭🇲
There is an obvious reason nobody mentions here. There were 2 jets in the same airspace and closely spaced. ATC told the helicopter about the jet, and they acknowledged it. However, with their being 2 it seems logical that they could have seen the one that came in or over first and assumed that to be the one mentioned. I do not honestly think it was intentional, nor do I think the Air Traffic Controller was at fault. There will be a full investigation than experts that can determine what happened, adjust things that must change, and hopefully prevent this from ever happening again.
That seems obvious. What's more obvious is that the airspace was crowded and the timing of this routine training lift should have been delayed until the airspace was clear.
You're right. The FAA department had nothing to do with this. It could only be the pilots or air traffic control. Too early to know what happened in this tragic accident...it may take months.

Indeed but let's also make this clear the recruitment of many military personnel is appalling! there is a great need of personnel but none the less there has to be a cut off. In the past we heard of military personnel going a-wire and attacking/killing due to mentally instability. Well, how could it be possible for an accepting to recruit people with history of mental illness and even admission to psychiatric hospital? How can someone with emotional instability in their personal life that leads to psychiatric hospital admission later be recruited to do a military job. A job that requieres the person to be calm under duress and is stressful.

It’s crazy to believe that my car has anti-crash warning signs and mechanisms to avoid a crash and a military aircraft and even a commercial aircraft don’t have that?? 🤯
Not actually a proficiency check. President said it was annual continuation of government re-training. Every year they run a full-scale realtime simulation of the process to get all top executive level government personnel to Joint Base Andrews to meet and board the doomsday plane to ensure the continuation of government in a national emergency "doomsday" type of event. The movements and maneuvers are timed and touted specifically
They did. But the chopper responded on a different frequency. I want to hear the response. A person on here said maybe the chopper thought they were talking about the first plane that was landing. Makes sense. But totally uncalled for. If a military is gonna operate on different frequency, that is STUPID, IN A COMMERCIAL ZONE! STUPID!
@@expletivedeleted On January 20th, Trump gutted a key aviation safety committee and fired the head of the TSA. At the same time, he offered federal employees a resignation buyout package amidst an ongoing shortage of air traffic controllers. I don't recall any major air crashes during President Bidens tenure. Hey, what is the price of eggs today? up 40%.
you can thank trump! “The administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration, Michael Whitaker, resigned from his position on January 20 after repeated demands from Elon Musk that he quit, leaving the agency without a Senate-confirmed leader during a major crisis in the wake of the D.C. plane crash.” This was probably an Elon musk funded experiment gone wrong!
Annual continuation of government re-training explains a lot about why the helicopter was there, and gives a clue as to why the doomsday plane was in flight while all this was going down. They were basically re-certifying on the procedures involved with ensuring the US government can continue to operate in the event of a nuclear attack, or other such doomsday event by running a simulation. Helicopter was running with a PAT callsign for that reason. It also explains the altitude level for the helicopter. In a real government continuation scenario, any aircraft ferrying executive level personnel to a secure location would be flying low to avoid radar detection. Pilot was flying a mission specific profile. Was just a matter of really horrible timing of the CRJ approach. Basically a perfect storm, that under normal circumstances usually wouldnt happen, but because of the type of training taking place both aircraft were in the right place at the wrong time
Dear Heavenly Father,As you have received many of Your children last night, I humbly ask that You please comfort all of the families who have lost their loved ones in this tragedy. I ask this thru your Son Jesus Christ. Amen 🕊️
From the communications and flight path shown, The helo was informed of the flight path of the plane. But there were multiple planes in the air including a plane in front of the plane that was struck. It is presumed that when ATC asked the helo if they had visual of the plane they may have been looking at the plane in front of the one that was struck and didnt see the other plane. The Alarm system would have informed the helo of potential collision so unknown why they didnt divert their flight path.
One person interviewed talked about the Blackhawks not having access to the same ATC Avoidance systems as a commercial aircraft.. Maybe that plays a part.. Makes sense due to their roles but it would be a good idea I would think to have some type of patch in for Blachawks etc.. Used for domestic purposes but I could see that being a huge undertaking..
How are Trump and hegseth to blame? Did they give the order? Did they pilot the helicopter? Please shut up with this garbage unless they specifically were involved you cannot blame anybody but those who either didn’t give clear information or didn’t know how to pilot the helicopter. Grow up
A few weeks ago they were able to remotely control the Blackhawk and yesterday a Blackhawk hits an airplane. These were experienced men I suspect foul-play.
Initial reports said 1 person was in the Blackhawk. Which is it now? If there were 2 other guys in there all 3 of them were too stupid to not look up and say, “we’re heading right for that plane, turn!”. It would’ve made more sense if it was just a psycho alone. A crew that doesnt see an airplane and keeps flying UP towards it? This is ridiculous

I'm pretty sure this is an accident. I could see how easy an accident happens. Here is my observation. Watching airplanes and helicopters landing and taking off became my hobby during my lunchtime, every day, many people came to the park just to watch, just like me. I drove to work every day past DCA and Pentagon for 20 years. The air space above is very congested and small air space. Many foreign leaders and high-ranking government officials visit Pentagon, the helicopters flying in & out all the time. , sometimes they fly in a group of 3 helicopters. @ 6:13 Because High Rise buildings are on both sides of the river. The air traffic above the river is only open space for both airplanes and helicopters to share. The airplanes' flight at HIGHER ALTITUDES MUST land at the airport straight ahead, and the helicopters' flight at LOWER ALTITUDE must turns right ,to land at Pentagon. If one strays into another air space, it could end up disaster. It's scary to them crossing path each other 100x/day Due to safety and restricted air space ( white house, dense populations nearby, ) the river is the only one way to fly in & out for both helicopters & airplanes. You could see in the video. The helicopters they fly so low you could see the pilots face, and the airplanes flying above them are approaching airport very slowly almost standing still, and both crossing each other, the scene very beautiful for anyone love airplanes. According to the news, it was a training mission at night, and the helicopter pilot probably was not familiar or distracted. He strayed into the airplane path. It's only takes a second for collision.
It's not a "training path", its a standard routing." Flights that are not coded operational are coded training, but that doesn't mean its a student pilot. It's usually a fully qualified pilot just getting recurrent proficiency.

Regardless of who's fault there is loss of life! Prayers to the families and friends 🙏🙏🙏
This is NOT acceptable for any airport, let alone the Capital's airport.
Ground all helicopter flights over DC except Marine 1. I heard a rumor that Blackhawks are used to carry VIPs around DC, that is a giant waste of money. Let the VIPs ride in their C A R s.
Helicopter, obviously, didn't belong there
That's 1 Helluva place to be training!
Whoever made the decision to do required annual training near the flight path of pedestrian aircraft needs to be brought forward. Heaven forbid, if they were DEI appointed.
Eventually the pilot will need to fly in such conditions, how will they learn if they don’t practice?
@@rashone2879 my son is a Blackhawk pilot. There are plenty of areas away from Reagan flight paths to train
I guess it was one of DEI hires 😢
It's something else they have so many bells and whistles and radar and ATC + 2 pilots. Heck you would have been able to see the plane if you would have been flying with them and being in the front seat with him and probably would have said why are we going right towards that plane something's not right
It's not a "training path", it's a standard routing. Flights that are not coded operational are coded training, but that doesn't mean it's a student pilot. It's usually a fully qualified pilot just getting recurrent proficiency.
So based on this story, you want regular people to assume that an aircraft that requires two pilots both failed at the same time?
Which aircraft? Both of them require two pilots.
@@Angrybutcher Doesn't the commercial aircraft require 3? Pilot, Co pilot and flight engineer?
@@daveh322 flight engineers haven't been required on most commercial keys for like 20+ years! What rock do you live under?
@ I don't fly planes bonehead. I was just asking a question.
Feels like DeepState hoped to blame it all on Trump
The manufacturer released that they were able to remotely control these Helicopters. .
It’s crazy to believe that my car has anti-crash warning signs and mechanisms to avoid a crash and a military aircraft and even a commercial aircraft don’t have that?? 🤯
If you want my opinion, the chopper pilot pulled a kamakzi move on that plane to send a message.

$Qardun yet has to really hit mainstream media guys
If this was their annual proficiency check, they totally failed
A failure that took many lives and affected so many more.
RIP and Condolences to all.🙏
Changes are NEEDED 💔
Not actually a proficiency check. President said it was annual continuation of government re-training. Every year they run a full-scale realtime simulation of the process to get all top executive level government personnel to Joint Base Andrews to meet and board the doomsday plane to ensure the continuation of government in a national emergency "doomsday" type of event. The movements and maneuvers are timed and touted specifically
Praying for all families and all involved ❤🙏
Prayers do not fix sh$t.
Can not make a little mistake with helicopters
God bless their souls 🙏
This is crushing!!!! They were already landing…heartbreaking just like the South Korean flight.
What happened to the air traffic controller that should have told the helo to change direction.
you can't blame DEI because Trump fired everyone in the national Air traffic safety commission
STUPID!
Exactly why a reboot of the military is necessary the incompetent is out of control
This happened on Trumps watch
@@Ron898 Like he has had time to fix the Biden disaster. Get a life.
The obvious question should be which aircraft was at the wrong elevation and why.
Going to go all in on this $Qardun now after Trump endorsed it 😂
Annual continuation of government re-training explains a lot about why the helicopter was there, and gives a clue as to why the doomsday plane was in flight while all this was going down. Basically a perfect storm, that under normal circumstances usually wouldnt happen, but because of the type of training taking place both aircraft were in the right place at the wrong time
This should never happen.
FAA monitors and OKs drones for research with no collisions but can’t prevent an American Airline from colliding in the DC area……right!!!!!!

Proficiency Test Failed
Condolences to all the families
From the communications and flight path shown, The helo was informed of the flight path of the plane. But there were multiple planes in the air including a plane in front of the plane that was struck. It is presumed that when ATC asked the helo if they had visual of the plane they may have been looking at the plane in front of the one that was struck and didnt see the other plane. The Alarm system would have informed the helo of potential collision so unknown why they didnt divert their flight path.
Your comment makes the most sense! I can see how that happened.
Thanks that's the best ATC communication response so far that I've seen that makes a little bit of sense
Trump and Hegseth are to blame and better start writing checks to these families ASAP.
How are Trump and hegseth to blame? Did they give the order? Did they pilot the helicopter? Please shut up with this garbage unless they specifically were involved you cannot blame anybody but those who either didn’t give clear information or didn’t know how to pilot the helicopter. Grow up
Why didn't the Air Traffic Controllers see this ahead of time?
Did, warned helo.
ATC warned the helicopter. From the released audio, the helicopter gave no response.
@@marinemindset yikes. This is scary!
dont black hawks have their own radar or warning systems?
The air traffic controllers were short staff because half of them accepted Trump's early retirement package 😢
A few weeks ago they were able to remotely control the Blackhawk and yesterday a Blackhawk hits an airplane. These were experienced men I suspect foul-play.
Yeah this seems very suspicious 🤔. I just don't get how they just fly into an aircraft on approach
It's almost as if we are supposed to believe that the helicopter pilots had NO IDEA where they were.😂

Initial reports said 1 person was in the Blackhawk. Which is it now? Why near an airport?
Why anywhere?
Ummmm because that’s where aircraft take off and land.

Because High Rise buildings are on both sides of the river.
It's scary to them crossing path each other 100x/day
Due to safety and restricted air space ( white house, dense populations nearby, ) the river is the only one way to fly in & out for both helicopters & airplanes.
Condolences 😢😮this is so heart breaking 😢
Why on earth would you do training exercises at a busy airport at night-time, what a tragedy

The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport," "The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time. It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn.
