  • Ustadh Dr. Ali Ataie talks about his amazement with the Qur'an in a Khatirah (reminder) talk that capped the end of the Khatm al-Qur'an in Taraweeh Prayers with Qari Amar Bellaha and the start of the 27th Night of Ramadan Qiyam-ul-layl.
    - More Ustadh Dr. Ataie: mcceastbay.org/...

The precise night on which Laylatul-Qadr occurs has not been mentioned. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “Search for Laylatul-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan.” There is a tremendous wisdom behind not knowing exactly when it occurs, which scholars have pointed out.

One foot in heaven and one foot on earth
One clean fitra for everyone since birth
The archers went down the hill the farther lost they became still
When the Prophet commands then you must obey
Now look at the price that was paid
What a high cost when the lion was lost
Do not swallow the shallow in
    order to follow the hollow

    Qur'an 2:255 "Ayat al Kursi"
    الله لااله الا هوالحي القيوم
    al-lahu lā ilāha illā huwa l-ḥayu l-qayūmu
Allah, [there is] no god except Him; the Ever-Living, the Sustainer (of all that exists).
    لاتاخذه سنة ولانوم
    lā takhudhuhu sinatun walā nawmun
Slumber overtakes Him not, nor sleep.
    له مافي السماوات ومافي الارض
lahu mā fī l-samāwāti wamā fī l-arḍi
To Him [belongs] what(ever) [exists] in the heavens, and what(ever) [is] in the earth.
من ذا الذي يشفع عنده الا باذنه
man dhā alladhī yashfaʿu ʿindahu illā bi-idh'nihi
Who [is] the one who can intercede with Him except by His permission?
    يعلم مابين ايديهم وماخلفهم
yaʿlamu mā bayna aydīhim wamā khalfahum
He knows what [is] before them and what (was) behind them.
ولايحيطون بشئ من علمه الا بما شاء
walā yuḥīṭūna bishayin min ʿil'mihi illā bimā shāa
And they encompass not anything of His knowledge, except [of] what He willed.
    وسع كرسيه السماوات والارض
    wasiʿa kur'siyyuhu l-samāwāti wal-arḍa
His Throne extends [beyond] the heavens and the earth.
    ولايؤوده حفظهما
    walā yaūduhu ḥif'ẓuhumā
And [the] guarding the both of them tires Him not.
    وهو العلي العظيم
    wahuwa l-ʿaliyu l-ʿaẓīmu
And He [is] the Most High, the Most Great.
If we divide the verse into 9 individual sentences like this, we can see what Professor Ataie referred to in the video, when he mentions this verse. The first four sentences each have their own micro theme, and these are then again reflected in reverse in the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th sentences, with the 5th one forming the center, and the contents of the 5th sentence seems to imply that 'the author' is fully aware of what is going on here, with these themes being mirrored. It's like when you throw a pebble in a pond, and it produces these waves traveling away from where the pebble went into the pond. The first and last sentence directly tell us something about Allah, affirming some of His names and attributes. And He is "the First" and "the Last". The 2nd and 8th sentence negate something concerning Allah, and He is always completely aware of His creation. Therefor, Allah is known through affirming and negating. Then in the 3rd and 7th sentence, creation is mentioned: the heavens and the earth, and the Throne of Allah, these tremendous creations remind us of His power and majesty. The 4th and 6th sentence pertain to the human being; and we're reminded that nothing we do, say or know can ever occur without His will, permission and predestination. Then the 5th sentence is the center point around which the others revolve; and Allah knows all things; from the scale of the universe down to the atom, from the past to the future, and all of reality as it exists in the present moment. Of course, this is just a simple observation, and one could draw many lessons and insights from this verse. I just wanted to quickly show how this verse is so beautifully structured.

There is many linguistic miracles in the Quran, i find the adding of new words and concepts.. like Rab al alamin.. (the LORD of all worlds) like ,
(master of the day of Judgment) .. and there is many like that... and that was something new to the arabes.. they never heard of these concepts before the Quran..

It is so optimistic that some scholars are learned and very imformative of in their speeches but millions have no idea what the Quran says but happy with their ignorance.

    Assalamu alaikum.
What about the numerical composition of the Quaran?
I know it's polemic because if the most probably Dajjal who claimed prophethood and popularized it.
But it's also true that this was noticed to a limited degree by some companions, I now don't remember who, but they were arguing about the night of decree, and using numerical hints that pointed at the 27th of the month of Ramadan in the Surah of the night of decree...
If this was the case that the Quran could be argued to have such a system in place, that would also be literally impossible to replicate... it would add a layer of complexity to the Quran, which simply put, would decimate the doubts...
I believe such thing is there, but perhaps we still have to look deeper, to find it.
Allah knows best in any case, and it does seem as an extensive work.

Qur'an looks a bit like poem in some chapters, but Arab poems have no truth in it while Qur'an is all absolute truth. For example chapter al-Qamar looks like a poem, but it is all true. When Arabian poet says " you are like 14th moon light, referring to a lady that he loved, he was lying because she can't be 14th night moonlight" that is why Qur'an is God's Wisdom, not man's thoughts.

Actually if an arab (like me) hears surat al qamar, he would know its not poetry. A non arab might think its poetry because of the rhyming. But arabic poetry doesnt only consist of rhymes. The thing that makes a poem a poem is the “wazn”, and its a rhythmic pattern that must be used in every verse in a poem, and that is not the case with the quran.

No brother, none of the chapters of the Qur’an read like poems. No surah of the Qur’an follows poetic meter or feet. The Qur’an has a unique rhythm and stresses that differentiate it from regular Arabic poetry.
