    I love your Mathmos Astro. It’s what drew me to your video. You explained these lamps very well and I look forward to enjoying more content from you.

    They all look really nice, especially the NASA one

    You most certainly get what you pay for. My Mathmos Astro (green wax, blue liquid) is 25 years old and still going strong. Replaced the light bulb a couple of times and about to get a replacement bottle.

    I know I’m late commenting but if it’s possible I’d like to see a restoration of any Intelli Bin model Roomba if you can get a hold of one

    Your old lamp looks identical to the one my parents have. It's Chinese made, but they bought it in a department store in Germany in either the 80s or 90s (they can't agree on the exact year). If yours is the same one, it's a Lipan LP-10. Hope this info is useful to you!

      Omg, this is it! Thanks for the info, i couldn’t find it.

      @@RestoRoombaRobotRestorations you're welcome, and thank you for the beautiful lava lamp videos!
      I think that particular Lipan lamp must be really well made, or at least the contents of its bottle. My parents' Lipan has been running regularly for over 30 years, still has crystal clear blue liquid and flows nicely.

    I wish Mathmos would ship to the Colonies.. er I mean the States, because they’re the best, and there simply isn’t a close second.

      True that. I’ve seen some used/new ones on Ebay with a slighly higher price but they’re out there

    Wow, the NASA lamp looks fantastic. The clarity, color, and flow are off the charts! Who makes that one?

    I think i have the same non-brand German lava lamp that you have, the only difference being that yours has a cap with an ever so slightly more rounded tip.

    Do you know the alimentation cable's lenght of the mathmos black vinyl ?

    • @RestoRoombaRobotRestorations
      @RestoRoombaRobotRestorations  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it’s over 2 meters long. I have it on top of a shelf that is pretty high up and the cable plugs in no problem.

      @@RestoRoombaRobotRestorations Ohh 😮 yes maybe I should sell something and buy Mathmos lamp because from what they are saying on their website these lamps can last a very long time, maybe even it’s a buy it for life.

    I think the nasa lamp would look better with a white cap. But hey could just be me.

    Wont the food colouring in the wax leach out in the water?

    Is the Astro vinyl the normal Astro??? Please get an Astro baby with plum liquid

    • @RestoRoombaRobotRestorations
      @RestoRoombaRobotRestorations  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, Astro Vinyl is a variant of the regular Astro, it is more expensive. The regular astro also comes in multiple colours

    Wait, Mathmos ships to Japan??? Japan has the same 110AC and even plug shape as USA. Score!!! 😂

    • @burnt_berry
      @burnt_berry 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mathmos is made in the UK and uses 230/240V bulbs, you would need adapter and appropriate bulb. I know, that there are GU10 35W for 120V which can be used in the US for Astro lamp.. So there is probably a way to do it.

    • @AB0BA_69
      @AB0BA_69 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Looks like I was wrong and just got too excited at seeing a "Japan" mark on the box.
      Do you know if the Neo is really 110-240v capable and would just need a plug adaptor to function in Japan/USA?
      I'd love to import a Neo, but if I'm paying a premium for just the "frame" and bottle because I'm gutting all the electrical bits then it becomes not worth it :(

    • @burnt_berry
      @burnt_berry 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AB0BA_69Don't know what happened to my response, so I'll write it again, anyway so it looks like Neo is running a 12V bulb, so there is transformer used, I've seen a comment on reddit, saying that it is internationally rated and that it's confirmed by Mathmos, but I can't find it on their website..
      So maybe it can run these voltages, would be worth writing them and asking about it..then you would just need the plug adapter.
      If that doesn't work, you would need to find appropriate 12V transformer, that runs on Japanese electrical grid.
