Ayurveda gives the analogy of OJAS as being similar to a honeybee that collects the essence [or the excellence] of hundreds of flowers and accumulates this essence. Similarly, OJAS is the essence or the excellent portion of bodily tissue which circulates throughout the body and helps maintain natural resistance & resilience which can be likened to the immune system; i.e. immunity.

This is so informative. I just started my journey but and notice my ojas on my 7 day. My eyes look so beautiful and when away the next day. I knew it had to be something with the 7 deadly sins. Anger or lust main one for me. I am changing that. Looking forward to keep my ojas!

    Namaste
Thanks for sharing this important insight.
Prana, Ojas & Tejas are such vital components of human system.
Chi, Jing & Shen are similar concepts in TCM.
Unfortunately ayurveda has elaborated ojas with physical ref (annamay kosh aspects )
TCM also discusess metaphysical, spiritual aspects. When chi is full one does not need to eat to get nourishment, chi cultivates jing. When jing is full one does not need to engage in sexual activities ( one is having high energy, vigor, vitality, clarity and balance that little or minimum food is needed )
Finally when jing is full shen ( spirit ) becomes very high then such person does not need to sleep as well.
But unlike ayurveda TCM extensivesly discusses interrelationship between these 3. tcm also gives supernatural capabilities of shen its nature.
Ayurveda has only basic understanding and there is need to go beyond it on more subtler level ( DNA or subatomic quantum level )
TCM can directly work on energy level ( chi ) while ayurveda work is very basic and primitative, it works on gross doshas wind, cough and pitta.
In many aspects TCM is extremely powerful than ayurveda.
    Thanks

I think the next video I'll cover what we can do in current times to help improve Ojas; i.e. optimize immunity. Until then, basic principles include:
      Ways To Increase Ojas:
      · Meditation
      · Moderate yoga
      · Pranayama (breathing exercises)
      · Consuming fresh wholesome and balanced meals appropriate to ones state of balance
      · Following a daily morning practice such as walking in nature, nasal drops and oil massages
      · Certain herbs such as Ashwagandha and Shatavari can help in promoting Ojas
      · A restful and appropriate sleep is vital to building Ojas

Hello Vedic Sage. This was a good explanation of Ojas, but you didn't include clear references to what you were quoting. I see that you have abbreviations for some of the passages, but it's hard to know what works you are referring to. Would it be possible to put that in your description or add it here, so that we can study the passages you're reading from? Specifically, I would like to know where this quote comes form: "The living being is that which binds the 4 things." -Thanks

only just retaining semen will do nothing your body unless u utilize this in proper manner ..
its like that u have huge quantity of petrol but u have nothing to burn and produce heat ...
when u use retained semen by spritual practices then your retained semen gives u unlimited power..
u can not stop semen for permanent..u can only transform it into energy ..
      everyone's body has own frequency..
