I cannot understand why the government does not implement a law that good food be put in different coloured bags to trash to allow an ease of this good work of the people !
17 year ago every weekend I did security guard work at wholesale food supplier . Friday 4 hours before I got there they throw out what they couldn't not deliver . Sealed boxes of stuff. One time 10 dozen bottles of pop that had fake fruit in it . I wouldn't take meat products but there always was load of good stuff . No real reason for trashing it beyond that they could not sell it .
Good ... they saved the still good food condition from be wasted and spoiled .... we must respect foods cause we live with it 👍
We ALL should be doing this.
These will be the survivors when the shtf…well everyone will be discussed and turned off, these people will live on …I was kick out of my moms house at the age of 15 lived on the streets for three yrs ,I survived doing this same exact thing,Macdonald,Burger King, and Pizza Hut is what I lived off of..I’d go to the dumpster right at closing time ….only the strong will survive ..good times of my life ..
I will survive because i am prepared not because i pick through the garbage
CA has laws in place where all food is donated and not discarded. Food banks are everywhere these days but if I pop open a dumpster it really is all garbage with no food.
Good for them. Better than letting it rot.
I was expecting the trash bags to be placed in big filthy trash cans. If they are just put outside the establishments like how they are shown in the video, I'd totally consider grabbing the free food.
Most restaurants pour clorox on the food placed in dumsters/trash bags.
Many stores/restaurants do this just so the group can come and help themselves. The only thing they ask is to retie the bags when they are finished and not make a mess. Dedicated salvagers who want to continue to have a steady and reliable source, will pay attention to make sure everything is left tidy. Dumpster diving is quite an art, and is practiced all over the U.S. You can find a lot of videos on YT showing their dumpster raids. It's appalling what people throw out.
Love the composting bit 👌
Well done that's great ,I go for that .
I would totally do this, but the dumpsters in my town are locked or they use compactors.
I heard NYC has rats as big as chihuahuas - that would deter me from digging for food 😂.
xcellent vidoe
people are so posh & spoilt in uk /usa /australia etc
ive lived on free food from bins for over 30 years & still get so much food/clothing/ornaments from my 2 neighbours bin bags ( all the unusables i recycle) the stuff i found made over £300 for the local oxfam shop & also fed me & lots of other people with food i find for the community food store
По истине прекрасное видео, невероятная работа с видео, тема фриганизма меня очень заинтересовала. Спасибо
The restaurants should take all leftover and donate it to the food kitchen
I used to do this when homeless but couldnt think of doing this while employed with my own place. We really need to change food waste in the world but I ain't eating literal garbage when I have money...
But you did .now on a high horse? be careful what you say type think karmas a bitch . .help them then pompus ass .
Minutes after buying from the shelf, I witnessed the same food carted off the same shelf and disposed of. I wish I had known and got the good food free, instead of wasting money
I completely agree with waste reduction programs and that there's so much edible foodwaste.
Composting programs make a ton of sense and should be more common.
Picking unpackaged food out of street level (rats, roaches, dog pee) garbages bare hand is not exactly the most hygenic action.
Wei taking eating raw fish from supermarket garbages is really a gamble.
Happy New Year, I hope you had a great day. 🎇🎆🍾🍷
Janet is right, everything we do matters. Go Janet go!
I hope she encourages others to start their own groups, so a bigger area can be covered.
Totally interesting fantastic
The immigrants should go for this kind of stuff since we been doing this for years. It's free for all. Not stealing..
I doubt they want to go back to thier way of life before they invaded somewhere they had only fantasy of....😂👍🏻

Dude
If it's already in the trash
It's rescuing from landfills
Nope I just watched a video the other day about how many illegal aliens in New York City are turning down the premade meals that were costing our government $11 apiece. They weren’t good enough for them, they we’re complaining that the pasta was too greasy and the meatballs were frozen in the middle. Tens of thousands of meals thrown in the garbage. They must’ve all been eating like kings back in their own countries, where they should return to.
An I the only one who watches these videos more than once just to hear the narrator's voice? 😂🤔
Why don’t they approach the establishment and ask them for those directly?
Company will be held liable if they do that, while discarding is the only legal way to do it for those things.
Many establishments are worried that if their donated food causes food poisoning or worse, they will get sued. So rather than donating the food, they throw it away. Some countries like France have enacted laws that legally protect establishments from lawsuits in this situation so that they can donate their food to charities without fear of lawsuits.
american has that protection too but problem is, youn can sue anyone so lawsuits even with no ground still cost money to hire a lawyer to defend against
My Dad grew up dirt poor b 1913 he skipped 3 grades n went out on side of mtn w horse n plow n kept 6 kids n 2 adults alive for 2 yrs mostly by himself. Later n life age 70 became alcoholic 12 yrs drank 25 bottles beer. Once i worked 2 hours on steak dinner mash potatoes, green beans roll, n stuffing n he asked for salt i was gone 5 seconds n he threw it in his tobacco spit bucket n lied that he ate it. Then he went to bar n told people i wouldnt feed him or that i beat him up or that i stole from him...all lies. 😊
The horrible irony of the shops deliberately pushing the illusion that there'll never be a shortage by wasting excess ... That's EXACTLY how shortages are made, and will be made in a massive, untold global level the world has never seen in the not-so-distant future.
My brother in Navy 13 1/2 yre been all over world said in some countries they'd b considered kings to have what we throw away. After 3 yrs combat Vietnam he was thru w militarym but hed never b done with our country.
That's very logical 👏🏿👏🏿👍🏿👍🏿
real life HEROS
If you watch this video and then the video of the food recycling in Manilla. You see just how crazy this world has become. We stock food just for the looks. They have to recycle already eaten food because there isnt enough
At the end of the day
Who are the ones wasting food exactly??
F & B
Supermarkets
Wholesalers
Retailers
Should have some organisations handling such wastage for redistribution to
Shelter homes
Homeless
Elderly homes, etc
I've been a picker of trash for 50 years!
People in somewhere are dying for starvation
Greetings and Salutations
I was just viewing vlogs about pagpag & that's what brought me here
Made me wonder why not 1 rodent was recently recorded on these minerals??? I saw a haze of gnats, but that's it.... maybe more research into Bach flowers remedies
Good luck
Thanks 😊
The Chinese guy though, is much more of a hoarder than anything else. I know people like him who cannot stop themselves from picking stuff on the street. Then it ends up as a big pile of clutter in their apartments, that they will call collections.
Hoarding is a symptom of an underlying mental health condition. It's always more prevalent among elderly people. My parents are like that. I had that symptom years ago. It takes a lot of willpower to consciously stop myself. Hope he seek help soon.
No hard done. They're not hurting anybody.
Once i was at work in the break room and i was really hungry but i had no money left then i saw 2 uneaten slices of pizza inside the trash so i threw them in the microwave and ate them lmaooooo
Food is food, whether it's sitting on a table or sitting in the trash.
They all want you to understand how wasteful we all are !
many tech invention arent from my country in south east asia Sir like powerline for example if i'm correct or other things
People doing this is what we always called garbage pickers. The only the only reason I would be hesitant is that there are so many recalls on salads and greens. I don’t think I’d eat them out of the garbage maybe they were thrown away because of a recall.
They don’t even bothered to wear gloves . That’s kind of gross!
Where I live it is considered theft.
That is Washington State for you.
professional scammers vs professional scavengers
Looks very unsanitary. And some people are not even using gloves? Also dont lay food on the ground. Bring a clean container.
♥️♥️♥️👃👃👃👍👍👍
Disgusting my family would disown me 4 sure
😂 only in those countries with strict food safety laws and rules restaurant will throw their foods away. In poor countries? You maybe find bones. And even bones have someone come to pick it up for animals feeds. 😂
Cool….haven’t had to eat from a trash bag yet but hey one never knows…😮
Pagpag
In principle sure we all want free food it should be free. One time we noticed they put chemicals in with the discarded food. Too scary to think about eating something that may have pest repellent or poison. Starbucks employee says they mix cleaning fluid and used napkins in with discards.
Simple, twds end of operation. Either sell it for 10% of its retail OR place it out neatly and safely for whoever wants it. Putting them out on the sidewalks in garbage bags is a little off putting for me. It exposes the food to pests and environmental pollution like gutter water, rain, pesticides, etc. Shame to waste food like that though.
Have picked used furniture myself till now, but always check for safety and pests before bringing them in. It's totally fine. Funny how western countries always preach abt recycling, environment, organic but they themselves are the BIGGEST consumers of resources globally.
If it wasn't for liability, this waste could be used for good. Issues can be fixed... But, who really wants to? 🥗
while I approve of reclaiming wasted food, I would like them to wear gloves for their own safety.
When you eat often food from the trash you can have severe desease like hepa it's sad anyway 😔...
@@antheus76nla that's why I rather cook my own food than to eat in the fastfood that I don't know if how they prepare the food...
If i MUST eat like that yes but damn, work hard to not get there, dont be a criminal
women: "I'm strong and independent I don't need a man"
women 20 years later: "Freegan means freedom and vegan"
Republicun are super jealous of prosperous democratic state like NY.
naw you just ship your problems to other states so it looks like your doing awesome but tbh your poor as shit
They're eating trash
naw, i work at a store we toss food all the time thats perfectly fine but it might be misshapen or we got a new batch in.
Of course these do gooders won’t recognize really this is a problem of big corporations and businesses, when things are done on smaller local scale you don’t require all the packaging and overall there is less waste because things are done in a more specialized way, also you don’t require big processing facilities and people can have more choice. They also don’t talk about all the people starving lol no they talk about “climate hoax”.
That's just ridiculous. Why don't they just call the store ahead before the food is out in trash. They must think they're quick but New York rats are quicker
white 🐻❄️ people culture 😂
Why do i feel like janice does not wash her gentials for week’s at a time
Many years ago. I worked for a food chain called 7/11 in NYC. We were required (by law) to throw away any food that wasn't sold during our shift. Nothing was wrong with the food. But, new deliveries were arriving, So, we had to get rid of what was already there. I used to take home a lot of food and give it to my neighbors. 🙏🏼
❤
Good job 😊
