Mad Respect for your setup. I never knew a salt water tank could be this extreme. just wow
Thank you very much for your kind words! I am glad that you found my video helpful. I understand that saltwater tanks can be quite complex compared to freshwater tanks, but with the right testing and dosing, much of the equipment can be unnecessary. However, I do agree that automation can make things much easier and more stable.
Thank you again for watching!
You should label everything that would make things pop..🤝
Love the camera I need to do that
Beautiful set up brother
Much appreciated, brother! Thank you for watching :)
Beautiful tank. love the hardware underneath 😍
Thanks, man. It saves me a lot of work and gives me more time to enjoy the tank.
Thanks for watching :)
I appreciate that trace elements part about to buy some… do a live stream and I will subscribe
Thanks for the video. I recently started dosing Kalk Slur to my tank and was annoyed I have to fill my container every other day. Didn’t even think to run my dosing line to my reservoir to fill the container up daily . Thanks to your video I now have an easier solution!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching :)
Beautiful reef! Crazy how some things just thrive when left alone
Right?! Thanks for watching :)
Great episode. Thanks for sharing 👌🔥💯✌️
Thanks for watching :)
I’ll never do that I don’t trust technology but helps always someone check on my tank every few days to make sure everything is working well. Incredible system you got there though. Nice video and very helpful.
I have a backup plan to call someone to fix the issue if something does go wrong. I find myself monitoring and watching my tank multiple times a day when I was away, lol. 🔧🐟
Thank you for watching :)
Man you did a great job!! Looks like you covered everything. My tank is set up almost exactly the same with redsea dosers and neptune dos. Best combo of equipment. One thing I noticed is it looked like one of your di resins was not packed well, you might want to check on that. First thing to usually slip through is silicates.
Great eye, my friend! I think it's time for a change also. But the tds monitor is still showing 0. So I have been holding off, haha. It's on order, tho.
Totally agree on the reefdose and the DOS. Can't go without it. Very good system.
Thank you for watching :)
Very nice
Thank you for watching :)
Great job bud. We’re going on a 1 week vacay soon. The only thing I need help is the nori and fill the rodi reservoir. Cheers !
Enjoy your vacation, bud! I am sure your tank is in good hands.
Thanks for watching :)
i am indonesian, Your tools are very sophisticated and expensive, I use DIY tools, I am very impressed with your aquarium
Thank you very much, my friend. Yes, it is true that equipment can be quite expensive. If one has the ability to engineer the tools, then do-it-yourself is certainly a viable and cost-effective option. Your approach is very commendable.
My goodness what a equipment lol makes me dizzy , great video my man ! Awesome stuff and awesome looking reef tank, wanted to start a reeftank but now seeing this equipment i think i will skipp it .... 😂
Hello,
Thank you for your kind words. Saltwater tanks are indeed more complex to maintain compared to freshwater tanks. However, you can begin with a basic setup and gradually increase the complexity as you gain experience. For instance, advanced techniques such as dosing may not be necessary until you have a substantial amount of livestock. Regular water changes should suffice in the meantime. I encourage you to give it a try!
This may come off as rude or something like that, but how much did that all cost?!? Obviously you don’t have to tell me or anything i was just interested in the cost of something that magnificent . I have only freshwater tanks and was thinking about maybe trying saltwater and I can tell you freshwater is nowhere near as complicated as any of this. Respect to you for your dedication and commitment! :)
Haha. Now you have me sitting here doing some quick calculations.
I would estimate that the hardware alone cost around 12k CAD. Then there are many other expenses such as salt, additives, fish, and corals. When you add it all up, I would say it's closer to 20k CAD.
Operating all the equipment also consumes a significant amount of electricity, and there are ongoing costs for dosing and testing.
It's a substantial investment! By the way, please keep this confidential. I wouldn't want my wife to find out. Haha.
Thank you for watching. :)
You can NEVER EVER take a vacation if you have a reef tank.
I used to think that too :) but with automation, it's happening!
Thank you for watching :)
@@TimReefCanada ,I was kind of joking ,but really not,I have a small 30 gallon ,bo automation ,I wont be taking any in the near future lol
Haha, I get it. Every time I go on vacation, my fish or corals would always die. If it's not the livestock, it's the equipment. Something always happens, haha.
Talk about all the gear…. Nice to see but wow .. all the gear
Nice! How old is the tank? Where are you from?😊
Hiya The tank is 1 year old now hehe. I am located in Canada 🇨🇦. Where are you watching from?
Thank you for watching 😊
@@TimReefCanada Pennsylvania
Nice! Welcome, my friend.
Nice yellow tang, how old ?
Thank you very much! I got him when he was just a tiny baby. He had almost no color. He is a year old now :)
What are your water parameters ??
I keep the big 3 at 9.2, 380, and 1280. Po4 and no3 is usually too low and hover around 0.
I wouldn’t let people by that tank
What’s your par
It's around 250 on top of the rocks and 150 to 200 on the sand.
Are you selling the doughboy Yuma baby?
Hey bud. Yeah, I am definitely considering it. 🤔 But I was thinking of letting it grow bigger first.
I am from Canada 🇨🇦 also. Shipping corals 🪸 internationally might be tough? I don't know.
@@TimReefCanada oh darn yeah it’ll be tough to ship from Canada.
@@TimReefCanada how much would you sell it?
How much money have you spent… seems a lot ..
Too much my friend. Too much hehe.
Dude what don’t you have on the tank lol… man your wife must hate this tank
Hahaha. She enjoys watching them grow also. It helps to have a supportive wife.
