Can agree with others in this thread. The climbing gym I go to has mats for bouldering but basically concrete for roped. All in the hands of a good belayer :)
I’ve seen it at my climbing gym. It’s a nasty thing but even with the safest climbs after so many years you’re almost guaranteed to see it just as a matter of statistics
Friend had a similar accident. Thought he was clipped into the „safety“ but wasn’t. Even crash mats can’t safe you especially not If you push of the wall.
@@richardstephens7833 I question why they do a lot of things. I don’t actually watch this program but I enjoy watching all the random, often inaccurate clips.
Well the MRI would 100% make sense, but I think when they saw him showing signs of memory loss and confusion. They probably assumed he hit his head and wanted to see if there was any neurological damages with speech or facial expressions. But his friend who caught him said that he didn't hit his head since he physically caught him. So, I'm pretty sure they ruled that out, they most likely still did an MRI, but it was probably off-screen.
My sister goes to climbing. They have a matrasse or a tatami to prevent accidents. Also since the walls are not too high they don't have a partner and they throw themselves off the wall on their back. I found that weird but since the highest wall is below 10m.
He could have been checking for fibrillation. Probably not what the writers were going for considering most medial dramas use defibrillators when the patient is flat lining, and basically never show depictions of fibrillation.
I was wondering that too. Obviously automatic belays exist, but that very clearly wasn't the system they had there, so he shouldn't have had a taught line... Really weird.
Because in order to ensure the safety of the actor, they unfortunately couldn’t *actually* have him not be on belay while also not being clipped in. They need him to be on belay irl in order to have him fall in a realistic way while also ensuring the safety of the actor, at least until they cut to the stunt guy.
Dislocated bones can push out against the skin, a family member dislocated their elbow and it was pressing tight against the skin A break usually breaks through the skin because it’s jagged and sharp (just giving information, not coming at you or anything btw)
Dislocated ankles can look like that, since the Talus and Calcaneus(bones of the ankle) are a synovial joint rather than a single piece. If it dislocated and doesn't slip back in that's entirely possible.
i thought most rock climbing gyms pretty much had crash mat like flooring to avoid this exact situation from happening
They do but it won't save you from a two story drop
For top rope or lead climbing, the pad is useless. Bouldering has thicker pads at the gyms since you’re meant to jump down.
For the ones I've climbed at, only the bouldering gyms have crash mats. You don't need a crash mat if you have a rope.
Most rock climbing centres have crash mat flooring in the bouldering section (without a harness).

I was really worried for him seeing how bad his ankles were and how bad his memory was.
Ngl, I feel traumatized looking at that happen. I sprain my ankle so often and seeing the doc come out rlly made me squirm 😭

I used to sprain my ankle a lot. It was a problem with my posture, my weight, lack of exercise and wrong shoes.

Yeah I boulder, not too high and floors heavily padded, but seem bad falls and a few ambulances over the years
Ordering an MRI would have been one the first things I ordered!
Yeah, why did they get psych involved straight away...?

Judging from 7:18 they did a CT in the morning, which didn't pick up any abnormalities.
Right, like an MRI would make sense. I think it's cause he didnt hit his head

Hey, Corey! Nice to see him on TV! 😊
Wait, he's on keto but he's drinking two pints of bear a day???? Beer isn't keto, its full of carbs

1:13 God! Same thing happened to me, climbing on the park climbing frame, and my bone could be seen out of my skin when I was 12! 😨😫
Oh that’s awful 😨
HA, couldn't work out what I was looking at in the beginning, but the title made me think it was some weird dorm-style shower curtain covered in puke.
1:15 he checked the guys pulse as he was screaming in his face… 🤦♂️

Pulse checking is important you'd never know if they're heartbeat can drop
best series ever ❣
I love you'r videos
He sounds like MatPat
If nobody was on belay why was there no slaxk on his rope??

Beer and unhinged sports bad idea
Oh yk it’s bad when they gave him FENTANYL 😂
Do you know there’s two types of fentanyl right?
🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤ 😊😊😊😅😅 2:45 2:46 2:46
Lol no there aren't "two types". Its the same drug and it is often used in medical settings for pain relief and partial sedation
I like Justin, shame we see so little of him !
Wait so justin is a doctor?
That doesn’t sound smart
I wonder how come all the patients admitted in this hospital can afford all these medical procedures?😅 I doubt insurance can cover them all.
A new video! :D
in b4 they change the title
Guy falls. No CT scan?
Any climbers here? 🧗
Litres or liters
MRI- Mkentucky-Rfried-Ichicken😅
It's 'litres', not liters.
Gallons in the United States

litres not liters
"american words vs european words" much?
We say goon bags
They use American English. Get use to it.
I know in the US they tend to use -er instead of -re, but is that the case with the word "litre" too? Never seen it spelt differently....

Also, antibiotics would’ve helped headaches. Or even going to the doctors for a checkup would help.
Conclusion: before Google it and listen to any stupid person with medical "laptop" diarrhea, go to the doctor!!!
