Before even listening I just want to thank snowbirds for helping to keep the bills down for the year round residents as well as lighter traffic in the off months.

This makes TV a great deal for year rounders. I have looked at many other 55+ communities outside FL. None has had a lower HOA fee than TV.
Yep. Snowbirds pay their amenity fee all year long without using them half the year. They also pay for trash pick-up... without generating any.

I know this sounds like a copout, but whatever you choose to do, long show or breaking it up, it's all good with me. I just really enjoy watching! I think I'd miss cart rides, but make it work for you, because you're the ones doing all the work!
I remember covering up the plants and pipes back in Houston in the Winter.
I like it all i one day. I often stop it and listen and watch later in the day if needed.😊
Glad to hear about the lady with the butter. Nice to know there are some people still around that aren't all jaded and paranoid.
Thank you Jerry for defending Snowbirds. As a snowbird I find it extremely insulting that some full time residents complain about the return of snowbirds. We are owners too! Are we not allowed to enjoy our homes?? They complain about our return causing traffic on the roads and golf courses. They should count their blessings that not everyone in the Villages is a full time resident. Would they move out if we all returned to stay full time???

More to support the above point,..TV sells all those houses with the idea/direct intent that people are going to live in them,...all of them,... they don't care of you live there 6 mo, 3 mo, 9 mo,..a year,.. or full time,.. after you buy the house, you're there on your own dime,.. and charged for the amenities/services 12 mo. a year,.. As TV intended for the homes to be sold & occupied,... the amenities/infra structures/services are supposed to be, and should be, designed & built to handle the 'full capacity' population,.. If it seems to crowded, that's still what TV intended/intends,.. otherwise they wouldn't pack'em in so tight,.. otherwise known as 'build the homes so close together,'.... 😀
Enjoyed split/format. I truly do enjoy your videos and I've watch from early early beginning. I have fond memories of TV when my sis and her hubby spent 3 months there every year, and I was able to visit for 1/2 weeks. So you and your videos are special to me. Thanks for the memories 😊

Well, ref snowbirds, I have noticed more dog poop not picked up along the paths since they arrived. And as for covering your plants, you DO NOT want to use plastic to cover them. Use a frost cloth sold at most plant supply stores and Amazon or use an old bed sheet or blanket. Not a sermon, just a thought.
I think the "wallet" guy should get a reward!
Now everyone will go walking on the trail!

Hi Jerry and Linda, dividing the mailbag between two shows is a good idea. Always interesting content. So glad to hear about super acts of kindness. The wallet finding good soul, the butter lady. Very uplifting. Candidly the golf cart experiment was a little disturbing and I thought so out of character for the vibe in the Villages. Good to see that the friendly culture is really the normal response rather than the exception. Wonder why more folks didn't stop? Location perhaps? Might have been the time of day. Anyhoot, love the good neighbor stories that show the real heart of the Villages. 😀

Great show ! snowbirds another good thing they bring money into the economy, which is good for the local businesses there and help keep people employed
Short term Snowbird here. We go to Florida every year for 5-8 weeks, but not the Villages yet. That's coming. We just know that we don't do the touristy things on the weekends, like go to Siesta Key Beach. The winter after Covid started was really dead and we did like that, I must say. I just enjoy bringing all our money down there to trade for some warm sunshine!! We will keep coming no matter what.

Show topic suggestion. What is TV governance structure? As a resident what can one change (thru some voting process)? For example, there was some grumbling about rentals. What say does a resident have? There are neighborhood committees I think, but what authority do they have?
Use cloth or fabric covering or boxes only, to ensure there's no damage from the cold to your plants. Plastics are a big no-no. They will cause damage to your plants 🪴

Was watching some vids of Mildleton by The Villages and it looks pretty awesome.
It’s crazy that non-hardy plants would have been planted by the developer! Plant native plants to your area, water them for the first three years and then let them grow on their own without a lot of excess water and no chemicals!

I checked the local Wal Mart here in Alabama and guess what. No Great Value Beef Stew in stock. They do have Dinty Moore and Armour beef stew
No Great Value Beef Stew in my Arizona area. Dinty Moore is great - my favorite!
I found a purse someone left in the lobby of The Laural Manor Rec. just last week. I started to look and see if there was a name in it so I could call them or return it but instead turned it in at the desk to two gents that worked there and have them hold it in Lost and Found or contact the person. I sure hope they got their purse returned! I love it when my "Snowbird" backyard neighbors return. I miss them. They are from Canada and very nice neighbors! The Villages Orchestra has concerts playing classical music at times also. Mailbag Monday was nice in 2 parts. This way you're not pressured trying to fit all you have in a certain amount of time. The video went very well Jerry and Linda......very well indeed! ❤❤

Jerry, You are right,.. ! Great Value beef stew is not on our Walmart instacart anymore either,.. If you see an empty space on the shelf where it used to be, & the shelf label is still there,.. maybe we have a chance it will return,.. idk,.. many items in the store 'go missing' for awhile, & then reappear,.. I only checked online, & it is not there anymore,.. 😧

Prefer one mailbag Monday per week. Could be 5-7 minutes longer on Monday. Keep Thursday for whatever else you're doing. Just my opinion.

We used to go to AZ for a couple of months in the winter and they also had a concerned with the 'snowbirds'. I always wondered what the economy would have been if it wasn't for the 'snowbirds'. We stayed one year into April. The whole area was so different and more relaxed. The restaurants were not as busy and you interacted with locals. What a great experience that was.
As far as dividing the show into two portions, I plan on drinking my coffee at 7 am with you two. I didn't get through my first cup of coffee today! I can't imagine the process you go through to make 2 videos a week. I would rather have it divided than be without you completely. OK, now I have to go hunting for beef stew! See you on Monday!

Beef stew, what to do? Open it and invite me over to help you eat the last can on the planet! We are snowbirds, and how we feel is we would like to be here full time because we have made so many friends and we miss them all when we leave. But our life dictates (for now) Michigan-summer, Florida-Winter. As far as snowbird busy, we just learn where to go and mainly WHEN to go places. It makes a big difference!
Good advice Gordie! Sorry though, if I have to break that can open I will have already barricaded my home in anticipation of the apocalypse. Seriously though, you guys make friends so easy that you will be happy no matter whether you end up full-time or snowbirding.
I looked up here in Wisconsin for the Great Value beef stew, all they had was the Dinty Moore. Sorry. I LOVE watching you guys no matter what format. Happy December tomorrow.............YIKES!!!( it was 11 degrees Tuesday morning here, BOOOO)

I like the split format. It's good that the videos aren't too long. I had 3 hibiscus that did not survive the summer, much less the winter. So I did replace them although I have 2 others. The snow birds are as much a part of Florida as the rest of us. They pay all those fees even when they're not here and I don't know why people complain. I sure would want to get out of the north and I'm not going back. So I say welcome back!

Great that you defended the snowbirds. People forget that they pay all year and traffic and crowds could be a thing 12 months of the year. Now regarding Tom and the lady with the butter. Of course that was very nice but forget the butter, what king of cookies 🍪 did she make!? Yum 🤤

These wallet stories are the exact reason I never carry cash. Or if I do, it's like 20$ or less. I use my debit card, and log onto my online banking EVERY night to make sure everything is kosher. No fraudulent anything will get past me. But I also have a small, locally owned bank (with only 3 branches) and they most times notice anything before I do. That is the best thing about small hometown banks, you get amazing service, and you aren't just a number. Do they have any small, locally owned banks down there?

Happy Thursday Jerry and Linda 🤗; finally WiFi. A 10 - 30 minute video is perfect. Kindness and honesty rare these days. So did he go and get the butter? Jerry you keep that beef stew for a rainy day when Linda is away with the grandkids. A 30ish minute show is good on a Monday morning of your regular show. Like your 10 - 15 ish minute shows on Thursday with your other treats ie: outings, races, kayaking etc. Unless you’re gonna make Monday & Thursday a split show and the Thursday treats on Saturdays 😊. Hi Jerry and Linda! We would not have minded if Monday's show went an additional 13 or so minutes. But it's always nice to see you whatever you want to do. I like mailbag Monday, it will be ok to break it into two parts, but throw us an adventure once in awhile. The snowbirds are good, a lot of short term rentals in an area would be a problem for me. My town just past an ordnance that there can only be a limited of short term rentals in an area. ❤
