    So she is probably a distant cousin to Queen Elizabeth?

    Of course i am glad she is part Italian ancestry, but I like that she is 1/2 English. And she should be Proud. My family is Italian, but some of the family on my fathers side emigrated to England in the 1800's and my Paternal Grand father grew up in Victorian England (London) and we have relatives there.

      Redbug 3 I believe Cindy Crawford is descended from a son of Charlemagne that became a King of Italy, while those descended from Edward I come from a son that became a King of the Franks. It's funny to know that Valerie and I both come from the de Bohun link to the Plantagenet 😂

      Patriarchy cult Is the beast system - I’m going to assume you mistook my comment about Cindy Crawford for the OPs comment about Courtney Cox. Yes, Cox is descended from a king, but she is descended from King Edward I. A few generations down is where Cox’s family gets caught up in the investigation concerning Edward II’s death, involving Queen Isabelle of France as well. In Crawford’s episode, the final discovery they show is a long list of her ancestors, going back through a son of Charlemagne (a king of Italy) and, subsequently, to Charlemagne himself. Now, doing medieval royal genealogy, I’m familiar with the lines that Bertinelli, Cox, Crawford, and myself descend from. Many royals, not just Charlemagne, had illegitimate children, acknowledged and unacknowledged. However, the lines to Charlemagne through the Plantagenet lines are through two legitimate sons, Louis the Pious and Pepin of Italy. To your point about about almost anyone having ancestry to Charlemagne, yes, most people with European ancestry are related to him. I have found in my time working on these lines of my family that most people descend from a Plantagenet ancestor who is, subsequently, descended from Charlemagne. Most people are probably descended from those lines multiple times really 😅
      Hope I was able to clear up any confusion!

      @causticchameleon7861 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      MandyMagnolia19 I descend from the Plantagenet and De Bohun line too. Also Edward I, William the conquer and Charlemagne but then apparently millions are descended from Charlemagne.

      Caustic Chameleon - Oh no way that’s awesome! 😊 Which de Bohun kid are you descended from?

      @wfqsfg 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was a sequence of the show. They needed a shot of her leaving her house so they probably had 5 or 6 takes till the director liked it. It wasn't necessarily Valery on her way to the airport. They needed the shot for the show. Then they needed a shot of her going into the building in PA. The director probably did 5 or 6 takes. The shot leaving her house could very well have been done at any time. The show isn't necessarily filmed in sequence. They might film the whole show and edit it and decide weeks later they need a shot of Valery walking from her house to the car. they'll go back and do it. When the crew is at a certain location, they will film all the sequences that happen at that location all together to save time and money.

    We have Edward l in our ancestry on my mother's mother's side also.. as do , who knows how many hundreds of thousands of people at the very least.

    • @gardensofthegods
      @gardensofthegods 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @?,?, a long time ago when I asked my mother about her aunt belonging to the Daughters of the American Revolution she said her aunt had to get the genealogy done to join that . It had some of the biggest names a French and English royalty... as can many people trace back to those various dynasties . (Some still live in England today And .. others scattered elsewhere yes including a lot of them in America .) Then eventually instead of kings and queens there were a few Lords and Ladies , knights ... until there were finally no titles . Our ancestor who came to America was a Quaker and came with William Penn on his second trip of the Welcome . And that is how genealogy works . Just because a family has wealth, ttitles or power does not mean that we'll still be in their family hundreds of years later . You should know this . Nothing stays the same; world is based on everything being impermanent and changing .

    • @gardensofthegods
      @gardensofthegods 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is something seriously wrong with your reading ability and it makes you therefore look illogical . Please do yourself a favor and re-read both things I wrote and don't bother me again . If you hate Americans I don't care .. and I think that seems to be your problem .. as if we have a choice of where we were born . We have some of the biggest names of kings and queens in our ancestry and then eventually they have no titles as is the case with almost everybody out there whether in England America or jebipp .
      You are so emotional that you choose to misinterpret what I wrote there is something wrong with your brain or your reading or both. In my first statement I already said that there are probably at least hundreds of thousands from Edward the first .
      Look yourself in the mirror and ask why you are so angry , my dear , you are not a happy person . Don't talk to me again as I see that you don't have logic and you don't seem to be able to read very well . Don't bother replying I won't be responding to your being a miserable person . I think you missed the point... with so many people all being descended from the same documented human beings long ago yes many of whom were very important proves that we are actually the majority of us all interrelated at some level. So just stop you are very angry and misunderstood what I'm saying saying simply because you became hysterical... you are a crazy hater and need help ... and oh by the way yes among those 25% my family also comes from William the Conqueror and a bunch of others... so stop it .

    I just got done watching the video of Valerie Bertinelli on Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show- a chronological compilation video of all her appearances. Saucy and loose stuff, I must say. In one of these appearances, she mentioned that she was on an episode of Who Do You Think You Are. I had to check it out. I don't think I understand exactly why I am so happy for her and her family's revelation. But I am. :) ...Maybe I am happy for her because I think I understand her a little bit, like I can relate to her? Hmm, no, I think maybe it's just that she seems so approachable. I bet if we were to meet, there'd be an actual rapport. I think that's what it is. Maybe that's the magic of her success, maybe that's the magic of most, if not all, celebrity successes? Well, then again, maybe Valerie Bertinelli is really that special and that's why I am happy for her family roots discovery. Just thinking out loud. ;)

    Its just so weird that on alot of these they seem to be related to royalty , its either a weird coincidence or they are somehow doing it for the show because it makes it appeal to what the people want to see??

      Nah, it's really just a result of the ever-expanding number of ancestor slots to be filled in your family tree as you go further back in time, along with smaller populations in the past, that after enough generations many people will find a link to royalty.
      In terms of it being impressive to find one, I suppose it just boils down to how recent the royal ancestor is. Mine is King Charles II of England, a 9x great-grandfather. About 400 years more recent than Edward I, so I guess I can consider myself lucky.
      The biggest upside is that you get to see links that go far, far back into history even beyond that royal ancestor, to older monarchs and those of different nations (those royals all married each other, after all) since the ancestry of monarchs is already so well-researched by others.

      What are you talking about? The video shows that she got detailed information, showing her family lineage (on her mother's side) going all the way back to Edward the First. Are you suggesting they just made it up?
