But as for Ichiro, what can I say? He's one of my favorite players of all time, so when I heard that there was going to be a huge celebration for his induction to the Seattle Mariners Hall of Fame and that there were going to be commemorative baseballs used during the game, I simply had to be here. I'm visiting all 30 MLB stadiums this season anyway, so why not hit up T-Mobile Park in Seattle when there was something extra spacial taking place, right? Hall of Famers Edgar Martinez and Ken Griffey Jr. were also in attendance so this was a very big deal.

Great job listing Ichiro's accolades: 10 time all-star, 10 golden gloves, rookie of the year, league mvp, 3,000+ hits in mlb, 4,300+ hits pro baseball. Also, don't forget he holds the hits in a season record 262 (broke an 84 year record), only player in history to record ten straight 200 hit seasons to start a career, and the one and only inside the park homerun in all star game history.

Pete Rose is the only other person with 10 200 hit seasons. Ichiro did it in his first 10 seasons. One of his most impressive records.
@@twyckoff87 yes very true. And Rose did not achieve his 10 seasons consecutively. In fact, just looked it up and it took a 15 year stretch for him to get 200 hits/yr ten times.
So deserving. Ichiro was such a pleasure to watch play the game. And for being such a small guy he had an absolute rocket for an arm out there in right field
who was the better lead-off hitter and player, Ichiro or Ricky Henderson? Zack can answer also..

Nice that you caught that special Ichiro baseball- he really deserved the honor and he was a lot of fun to watch and I got to see him in Cleveland a few times and many times on TV- he was a great player to watch and he deserved to be honored as he was especially with a commemorative baseball! BTW- I saw your documentary and it was very well done and I really enjoyed watching it the other night! And yes- I was watching this game as I am a Cleveland fan so I had the game on to see the Guardians win! Glad you got to Seattle!

4:14 that’s me getting my ball signed. I know I’m 9 months late but I would just like to say how cool it was seeing you there. Really cool guy in person and was really polite to all of the people asking for autographs. You signing my ball and my friends t-shirts really made our day. The ball is now proudly displayed in my ball case next to my Daniel Volgolbach autographed ball.
I loved this video. Attending Ichiro's first MLB game and seeing his first MLB hit in person is one of my favorite all-time live baseball experiences, and it was great to see part of his ceremony here and you catching that commemorative baseball.
So cool that you were there for this first game. I remember watching in awe on TV.
I think the wisdom here is that professionalism, tenacity, fighting spirit and the desire to be perfect in your chosen craft eventually have victories. I think this was a perfect example of two professionals who are deep practitioners of the Zen of being. Kanpekina shigoto omedetōgozaimasu, Ichiro and Zach.

That is dedication right there. I am more on the weather side though (such as driving 750 miles just to get hit by the eye of a hurricane). Some people say "idiot," but you just have to drown that noise out and keep following that passion. Great video!

1. First I have to tell you I watched Zack Hample vs The World. Jeff Spiegle did a marvelouses job and the film is personal, gives a great message about the person you are. Great to see "Fenway Chris" footage and mention in credits. I for one has bought his glove to Fenway Park when I was younger, (before they build the wall boxes) and always had the wish for a ball to come my way but never did.
2. Great job on this video and editing and for all the kind help you got a the Ball park. On the board Toss up and Easter Eggs.

4. If I was going to have follow and film Zack ,I would have to start running and train if was like it for a 10K race.

@@dylangriggs2754 I get it from a moral standpoint. And I can see it from his perspective. Baseball is how he makes a living and that's his bread and butter. I'm sure it was looked at more as a exclusive experience versus what everyone else from the outside thought. I can't speak for him, I'm just saying. A lot of the points people make are reaching. I've never seen so many people pressed by something that never even involved them.

That's awesome you got what you came for! I've always liked to see a collector add to their arsenal regardless of what it is! The haters out there have to realize the things Zack witnessed growing up as his family collects thousands of different things for their huge awesome library in New York. It makes perfect sense why Zack does this. I have no idea why anybody would question it!!!

Just wondering Zack. Have you ever been to a game that was having commemorative balls, and you missed out on those commemorative balls ? If so, can you name one or a few you missed out on that you would've liked ?
Good question!!!!
He has missed a few, i remember some videos where by chance he got a commemorative ball in batting practice that the teams just happened to still be using one and still got them but was later on
2007 and 2015 All-Star Games still haunt me.

This was such a great game to be at aside from the Ms blowing the lead. Was able to treat my dad to tickets to this game and it was such a great time to spend with him and watch the enshrinement into the Ms HOF of one of our favorite players of all time.

Amazing how people are so surprised that collectors do strange things to add to their collections. It is the chase that thrills them. Zack uses TH-cam to fund his collector hobby. It allows him to do what he loves without being totally broke.
