I am torn on Bubetsu personally. On one hand yeah it increases your ceiling and helps you close games. On the other, if you dont have 2 Rising Dragons (because you arent looping Risings to soul with this Luquier so you need 1 in soul and an extra in hand for Bubetsu), then Bubetsu feels so bad...
Bubetsu allows for the deck to be extremely aggressive. The deck is very lackluster without it - probably near unplayable if you cannot make 5 attacks every turn with high numbers.
Do you think running four forcalors instead of buubetsu makes a defensive build viable at all? With the recycling from the g3 dragon you can keep recurring the forcalors to get an extra card per turn and will help with the awkward energy consumption, but the deck doesn't have extra shield so you're just going off of what you draw + your rising dragon filters.
I don’t think Luquier’s engine is sufficient enough for a ‘defensive’ build. It doesn’t draw enough nor does it generate enough hand advantage for it to be worth to replace Bubetsu.
How viable would the Venus Luquier deck if I decide to dedicate myself to mastering it fully ? I recently lost all of my English vanguard decks and am looking for something, unfortunately I only have the available funds to comment to a single deck however. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance
I think it would negatively impact the deck because your deck would only be attacking 4 times. Drawing 1 each turn isn’t going to help too much in the long run when decks attack for 10-15k higher each turn.
Congratulations on the 4-0 at locals Derick 🎉🎉
nice to see some of the OGs getting support. Updated minerva next please

Are there any budget options for the Desire Devil? I don’t have the budget right now to pick up 4 of them.
Thanks, great guide as always.

I feel like with the tougue you can cut down on the g3 order and dragon and maybe use either energy cyclers or forcalor

My list is basically urs but I run 2 focalors cutting 1 order and 1 bubetsu
Is breathing dragon not playable at all anymore?
No slots unfortunately
what are your thoughts on running less Bubetsus for Forcalors?
